even if that were the case like you said it is a dream, what really matters is what happens outside of the dream.…
Yes it’s the “sensible” thing but to HQ that must have hurt. Beside she already worried about their statuses. It’s such a dealbreaker for them. That’s why I think the “dream” matter because ZXW didn’t do that in real life so they still got a chance together there.
In the incense banquet episode, they mentioned the Jiayin (?) pill ~ the famous rare one where the Lord said help with hallucination. I think that might be the incense that he uses to keep her alive in the real world. That just my guess.
I saw some spoiler on YouTube about the Lord and I hope it’s not true but after ep.21 I think it will be. So far I’m not drawn to any CP but if I have to choose it’s the Lord. However the spoiler said the lord find out the real culprit is the Meng daughter but he hid it from HQ and couldn’t do much. After that HQ understood his predicament so she didn’t attack the Meng daughter, only scarring her face. Rather than being mad at the Lord, HQ understand that he can’t fully take her side given his position. She already knew this ofc but this incident solidify her thoughts. The Lord is quite naive ~ saying he can protect HQ but at the first sight of challenge it already show his shortcoming. He can’t do it. I think this is the ultimate reason why HQ can’t choose him in the dream. Ngl all three suitors can’t hold a candle to our heroine so idc who she end up with bc it’s not important. Our heroine can be happy with or without any of her suitors.
Yes. Lord is my endgame for HQ as well....how can I not when he has been plastered with HQ as the main CP for…
Frankly I saw this drama on a streaming site and randomly click on it because of Zhou Ye. I marathon 14 episodes in one sitting before looking it up on mydramalist. Imagine my surprise when I see HQ and the Lord picture. Maybe I'm just slow but I thought this time around, HQ was going to win her husband's heart since she's a changed person. But the husband ended up disappointed me greatly during the assassinations' episode. I didn't think the Lord was suppose to be ML and frankly I was annoyed with him because like HQ I thought he was a busybody or just typical second lead who for fell for HQ because he seen her doing two kind acts. I only find out his real feeling reading the comments here and seeing episode 18. That's when it all click for me.
NGL.. after episode 18 I rewatch earlier episode for the Lord. I'm glad I started this not knowing anything because rewatching it feel like a new experience. I used to get annoyed with him, but now knowing what I know, a lot of scenes felt different this time. You know how sometime it's so frustrating seeing the FL oblivious to the ML's feelings? Because of course he like you, you're the FL. But here I was blindsighted/duped since HQ was a villain and a terrible person so it was not my first conclusion. Someone said the Lord only wear white because that's HQ's favorite color and I can't unseen that. During the birthday episode, the Lord said he need to change when ZYL invited him. I thought that was such a filler scene but now it all make sense. Of course he going to change into a white robe since he's showing up to see her. In other scenes you can see he wear gray/mauve and gold, but he only show up in white around her. And when he asked her if she was HQ - at first I thought he was suspicious. But when he explained she used to be possessive over ZYL - it show what he was really referring to. So now I hear his question as "Do you still love ZYL like before?" And he look so jealous when she explained she saw ZYL as her "only one", but he smirked and look brighter when she said that now she let ZYL do whatever make him happy. Because a woman only let her man be with another when she no longer care or has affection for him. That's why the Lord look happier and his tone was so sarcastic when he said he's envious of ZYL. And the way ZYL look so sad when he heard her said that. On the surface it look like she said a good thing - but they both knew what it really mean. This scene used to confused me, but now knowing the Lord real feeling, it all make sense.
And that scene when he show up with a physician after the assassination I thought the same as HQ. But in the bonus scene, you hear the Lord bringing up the fact he heard ZYL has been neglecting his wife/HQ. We knew he made up that excuse about the Princess, but he didn't really need to bring a physician even if he was curious of her conditions. It can only mean he brought his physician because he was worried she's not getting the care she needed since ZYL is neglecting her.
Saw this clip on Youtube - not sure if it's an analysis or spoiler but it said that HQ will fake her death for two years, but her and the Lord still thought of each other. The Lord propose again and even the Princess support them.. If this is the ending, I'm happy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GjHSS7eg-4
I also like how the narrator analyze HQ/ZYL/ZXW relationship. She basically said HQ only wish is a husband who stand by her and spoil her but ZYL is not that man. He fell for HQ but still couldn't let go of MY. So that's why HQ wanted a divorce because she couldn't let her wrongly placed affection (her crush on him) to ruin the rest of her life. But in actuality, her soulmate has already appeared. The Lord had always love her but his expression of love was wrong. He only discreetly protected her, not letting her know his feelings. Only when she wanted a divorce that the Lord can no longer suppress his feeling and confess to her. He knew if he miss this chance he will live a lifetime of regrets. However, both of them knew that the issues between them is not just love but social compatibility. The Princess will never approve because the Lord's wife will also be a daughter in law to the royal family. In order to be with HQ openly, the Lord create a plan. Who knew that HQ would fake her death for two years (*I saw in another clip that it was the Princess who fake poisoned HQ to break them up). In those two years, the Lord and HQ still thought of each other. Finally the Princess couldn't help but support them to be together. *I saw a fire clip~ maybe HQ is thought to be dead and when she came back she will have a new identity and this is how she can marry the Lord.
I don't know why this series is messing with my time perception. Every episode felt like it's so short but it's 45m. It felt like nothing happened but upon re-watched quite a few things happened but I still felt like it's not enough....
As for the CP - I care but also don't care? I'm too occupied on how HQ going to change the ending this time. And I like how the Lord had a crush on her and how people perception of her changed. I rather enjoy this slow burn on how characters are falling for her yet not really looking forward to seeing her being together with anyone? Idk why but seeing HQ changing or making up for her past actions feel very satisfying because so far she has not done anything stupid or frustrating - which a lot of time-travel character with plot armor often do. I rather like how prudent she is.
So I saw a trailer clip of the whole series that was released before the series aired, and there was a scene where HQ was in bed screaming "No I went back and changed everything. My parents are still alive" while crying...

the thing that confused me about the dream and the Lord is...
If the Lord is the one saving HQ in her original timeline, does that mean he always like her and not MY like HQ thought? If that's the case, the Lord is very confusing to me because HQ was kind of a horrible person in the past, why did the Lord like her? And secondly, why didn't he tried to help her family out or at least help her not getting exile if he liked her? And didn't HQ also said she remember the Lord assisting the husband to uncover her family's crime?
When she came back for her 2nd life, the Lord was investigating and his behavior make it look like he was suspicious of her. If he always liked her why did he behaved that way? The drama make it seem like he fell for her while being suspicious of her and realize she not as bad as he thought.
I read some comment and some said the Lord was HQ childhood friend and always liked her in the novel. It make a lot of sense why he saved her and how this whole drama is just a dream. BUT before knowing that my theory was that HQ's action in this second life is affecting her future.. I think that she still going to be suffering similar fate and be on the verge of death/ coma-like like her 1st life, so that's why she kept smelling the incense. HOWEVER, this time it's different because of her actions/behavior, the Lord is on her side to save her. And maybe she is in a coma but her situation is not as dire as the first time. I think that the timing where the FL came back indicated that some of her family past misdeeds cannot be undone. Hence they will have to pay for it eventually. But since the FL is making amend this time around, her and her family ending won't be as bad. Maybe her parents won't die. And when she wake up, she will be living in a new future.
"Idk why some people can easily win the love n trust of others with just one look, others will fall for them.…
that line make me realize our FL sound like a second lead and MY sounds like the typical female lead with plot armor.. mind you this is before i read the synopsis.
Wow.. I randomly started this last night because of Zhou Ye. Came in with no expectation and binge watch all 14 episode in one go, not even touching the skip button, and eagerly start every episode... It's so good and addicting Doritos..
Right?! The script writer better addresses all this in the novel. I swear to god if it's the twin that came back…
I was thinking that the original YWS return as a double-spy (?) and Wufeng hold her twin sister as hostage to make YWS do as they ask, threatening her if she is exposed her sister is dead.. But it's too basic of a plot so I'm just throwing it out there.
Y do i feel like SGQ is playing both sides. And I think she might really fall in love with GSJ so she’s trying…
I get the same vibe. I think SGQ is really the descendent of that whatever sect. Become Wufeng so one day she can destroy it from the inside. So I think she's really being truthful to GSJ but first she need to succeed in this mission. Right from the beginning in episode 3-4 I felt she aimed for GSJ more than just because of her mission from Wufeng.
The brothel scene - I honestly don't think it is as it seems. First - I don't think Ziyu was fooled by the thief. Rather I think he was playing along. Because think about it, even the oblivious and stupid Ziyu wouldn't left YWS alone in the crowd as it is dangerous. But he played along, left and come back quickly to identify her in the crowd and follow her. He quickly I.D the Gong guards, because he don't want them to alert YWS. That's why he told them to stay put, so they can be deployed if needed. But also to make them visible to the Wufeng people. When the guard is stay put and visible, it also make Wufeng people feel less alarmed.
Second - why did he knew to go straight to the courtesan? I think he knew something was up with her all along and that's why he kept going to her. But secondly, why did he not think it's strange YWS knew about her, and look for her during the lantern festival? In that moment, I think Ziyu was testing YWS as much as the Liang spy. I think it was a 2-way test. First she want to test YWS feeling toward Ziyu because I believe that her mission is a honey trap. The best honey trap is when some real feelings is involved, because the best lie is when there's some truth in it. Second, it also test how dedicated YWS to her mission. Ziyu may want to test YWS - about her mission. Is it to kill him or not.
The last smile the Liang spy did was quite peculiar to me. I felt a tinge of jealousy mixed with anger. Jealous that YWS was picked for this mission, angry that she proved that she worthy of the mission. I don't think the Liang spy ever wanted to kill Ziyu because she could done that a long time ago. Nor is it the right time to kill him now. It was all a test for YWS.
