she just proposing for an alliance. she find out that jxn is at odd with her older sister, and an enemy to my enemy is my friend. her "sincerity" is just code for an "alliance" but it's only out of convenience.

the actor playing ZZ is fire.. that's why. His character right now is quite bland and he barely has any interaction with FL but the actor is shooting fire out of his eyes and hi s presence pull you in, thus elevating this boring character (for now)

Finally done binging the 12 episodes. Zhang Zhe Zhang Zhe.. why you look so good???? Finally the 2nd ML show up after 9 episodes? This must be a record.

The ending.... urgh... it make sense and is kind of beautiful BUT you know the feeling when you enjoying a great meal while leaving the best piece for last, BUT the waiter just came and took the dish away leaving the best bite still on the dish? That's what I felt about this ending.

It came soooooo close to being perfect. Why can't we get a hug? Why can't we have them sit down with HQ looking at YXW again but with new eyes, understand his devotion and wiping away his tears? Why can't we have one extra scene where they have a small intimate wedding, with the same dialogue from that cartoon version?

It's just so annoying these drama stopped at the 99th mark so they can leave us wanting more but it just end up pissing me off and ruined the whole experience.

I'm glad this is only a dream because oh boy ZXW really lost me there. I knew he had plans up his sleeve but his plan is STUPID. They are not together yet. She hasn't agree to take his hand, but he made plan for them by having her throwing her own dad under the bus so they can live happily ever after? Who would be okay with doing that unless they're a psycho. Yes, her dad probably was f*cked up in many ways. Then seek justice by throwing him in prison and prosecute him. His plan is to have his supposedly "love of his life" deliver the kill to her own dad. How f*cking cold. It would be better if he just send her dad to prison.

I see people defending him saying that he only making the best of the situation and I don't have a problem with that. I have a problem with his "lack of consent". Okay the FL did tons of that and look what that did to her family, and that's why she came back and make up for it. Now we have a ML doing almost the same thing and we supposedly switch our morals and said oh, it's okay. Did HQ agreed to marry to ZXW yet? Did she agree to this plan? Nope ~ he does whatever he want, take whatever he want. Hide what he want, and reveal what he want. I mean HQ has a point - everybody is only a chess piece in his game. Even HQ who he supposedly "love" so much. He literally "threaten" her to do the reveal. HQ isn't even in a relationship with him yet and he's already coercing her. I'm glad HQ isn't together with him yet.

It's already bad enough when a character scheme against others, but it's even worse when your lover scheme against you. ZXW and HQ is not in a relationship where he can make decision for her. As a Lord - his word is rule, well then be a Lord, don't try to be her lover. The Lord is the classic example of "jumping the gun too soon" and the "grabbing at sand". The tighter you grab, the quicker it slipped away. He's afraid she going to leave soon. He trying too hard to keep her but his action only drove her away.

It's more complicated than just giving her brother to the authorities because that would do nothing. First the woman was bought, so she is considered as "property", and also a concubine of the household, so this is considered as an "internal family" issues. Technically, the woman committed suicide so they can't hold anything against the brother. Morally it's wrong though, but the authorities would not want to upset the HUA family and will let it go. In order to have a case, the woman's family side need to lodge a complain. But no one did.

HQ gave the brother to the dad because she know at least the dad will beat him.

yeah i had a hard time wrapping my mind around the Lord loving HQ in the real world because HQ is supposedly so evil in that time period. But I saw a video on youtube that said that ZXW loving HQ is the same as ZYL loving MY. ZXW love HQ since they were little because he ate honey and almost died because he is allergic, and it was HQ that "save" him. So he had a crush on her ever since, having this "pink tinted" glasses looking at her, the same way ZYL love MY due to their childhood memories together. I think that's why in ZXW eyes, he love HQ despite how awful she is because he love the idea of her when she was little and who was his savior.

Marathon through this in 2 days... my gosh was that exhausting.
I have a lot to say but I'm exhausted. The first 15-20 episodes were really engaging, but the last 10 fell off. It was so exhausting that I want to know how it end but I no longer care.

With the set up from the first 3 episodes I thought I would get serve some delicious revenge dishes, but all I got was even more torture for the FL. Even though she came from the future, she still end up a pawn many times. I give them credit for this realistic part. You don't know everything even if you lived it. Life is all about perspective. I like how the FL is good at scheming. But I never get much satisfaction when she pulled off her plan. The ML is very plain but I see that they created his character as a direct dichotomy to the villain. He get manipulate by everyone, which is ironic because he is supposedly the character with the most freedom - both personality and circumstances. Unlike the FL and the 2ML who fought so hard against their own fate, which make them much more engaging characters. ML is only a foil to those two. I like the premise, 2ML acting is phenomenal. But the execution in the latter half leave much to be desired.

I think she meant her maid at that time because it was before she found out about the Lord. Because her maid fell for HRZ and made those mistakes. It remind her of herself in the past. But you are also right, her comment is poignant after HQ find out what the Lord did

let me discuss the character without having anything to do with your ex please. i don't even like men. can i just discuss a character without you assuming i have some kind of fantasies?
as for episode 24~ i saw the trailer but not seen the episode yet so at this point i still think HRZ isn't asking HQ for anything. She's on the other hand is the one giving him "hope" in ep 23, saying he's important to her and that she'll take him with her. As for you saying he's only doing his "job", well ~ how many guards still stay by her when her ex was taking way her servants? Most of them left her. How many guards jumped after her down a cliff? You say he act like a "dog" for being obedient, then also chastise him when he speak up. Him being a two-timer is new..

When did the guard expect HQ to "marry" him because he protected her? He just like her and expected nothing from her. Never get in the way of what she does, never question her, just absolute loyalty. At this point, he never even ask anything from her or her feeling. It just people around them notice his gaze.

She certainly can't "preach" but she certainly can call it out, especially harmful jealousy that she once engaged in. She been there, recognized the pattern, and made up for it. She more than have the right to call a spade as a spade. There is no need for her to be silent when someone's jealousy is ruining someone else's life.

Basically the couple confessed that they don't want to press charge and even avoided the guard because they knew what their father was like. However, even after telling that to "that noble" person, they were still forced to go to Huacheng to do that whole "scene" and go to court as a witness. They certainly do not want to go court and have their whole family skeleton drag out that's why they ran away. But they can't come home because they afraid that "that noble" person will come after their family as well so they can only hide waiting for the whole thing to blow over.
So this is when HQ realized that "that" person knew the truth but went after the guard anyway. Remember when she has that conversation with "that" person earlier and he insisted to believe his guard's version of the story? At that time HQ said she will find evidence to prove/convinced him. Now she realized he knew the truth the whole time - and the truth didn't matter. He did it out of jealousy to separate the guard from her. That's why she went to prison and said the guard got into this predicament is because of "her", not because of his "crime". If that person wasn't jealous then the guard wouldn't be in prison.

Yes it’s the “sensible” thing but to HQ that must have hurt. Beside she already worried about their statuses. It’s such a dealbreaker for them. That’s why I think the “dream” matter because ZXW didn’t do that in real life so they still got a chance together there.

In the incense banquet episode, they mentioned the Jiayin (?) pill ~ the famous rare one where the Lord said help with hallucination. I think that might be the incense that he uses to keep her alive in the real world. That just my guess.

I saw some spoiler on YouTube about the Lord and I hope it’s not true but after ep.21 I think it will be.
So far I’m not drawn to any CP but if I have to choose it’s the Lord. However the spoiler said the lord find out the real culprit is the Meng daughter but he hid it from HQ and couldn’t do much. After that HQ understood his predicament so she didn’t attack the Meng daughter, only scarring her face. Rather than being mad at the Lord, HQ understand that he can’t fully take her side given his position. She already knew this ofc but this incident solidify her thoughts. The Lord is quite naive ~ saying he can protect HQ but at the first sight of challenge it already show his shortcoming. He can’t do it. I think this is the ultimate reason why HQ can’t choose him in the dream. Ngl all three suitors can’t hold a candle to our heroine so idc who she end up with bc it’s not important. Our heroine can be happy with or without any of her suitors.
