TMS is a show you have to watch multiple times to understand the whole scope of what the screenwriter and directors were trying to convey. Even if you think s1 was fluffy compared to s2, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows. While watching s1, I didn't like Jiwoo upon my first watch. But after rewatching s1 MULTIPLE times, I realized that Jiwoo is a character who isn't as fleshed out as Seojoon in s1, so it is easier to say you liked him more in s1 than s2. The truth is, Jiwoo was a person who just entered Seojoon's life and made Seojoon have more excitement in life. He was just the cold tsundere who broke his walls because of the extroverted celebrity. While watching s1, I thought: Why does Jiwoo have those walls? What happened in his life before meeting Seojoon that causes him to act the way he is? In s2, we see more of his past life, his thoughts, his actions, and even his childhood friends. We also see that Jiwoo is a person with insecurities, insecurities that were hinted at in s1 but are now fully fleshed out in s2. Seeing his personality and the way he thinks makes the audience hate him, but now we see him more as a person with his own set of problems instead of just being the guy that Seojoon loves. This season fleshed out his character while making his actions, behavior, and words consistent with season 1.
It's rare that sequels make the characters the same as the previous season, and if you aren't going to praise the show, at least praise the fact that what Jiwoo did in s2 is something that he would have most likely done in s1. Everything he did was in character.
yesss !! I always feel people who truly understand Ji Woo will never hate him unlike a lot of haters here !!
I am like Jiwoo and it pained me to watch s2 because what jiwoo did is something I would do, maybe not to that extreme but I would do something along those lines so it was easier for me to dislike him but also relate to him and understand him
THANK YOU!!! Literally what I've been saying for WEEKS!!!
you are so right. there is nothing wrong with wanting to escape your real life and wanting to watch a bl to help ease your pain, but don't watch this szn expecting to get fluff and rainbows
To my star is really a love letter to people who identify with Jiwoo. If you feel like you are unworthy of love, know that there is someone who will make you feel like you have the whole universe.
Last 2 eps. Im feeling very nervous. What do you guys want to see happen? I personally ant them to be apart for a while with a hint that they might end up together in the near future
