Title Immortality Spoiler
Please tell me today is April Fool’s Day! 😭
The novels that are translated already or are in course of translation won`t disappear or be edited in Novelupdates because the translators might want the translated novel to have the same content as the upcoming edited online chinese version from jjwxc ( at least i think they won`t bother, especially if the source they used to translate is from the published novel). You can read the translated novels after the LA has aired too, i mean it won`t change anything for the completely translated novels that has/will have a LA. The only situation that a novel might be affected by this, is if the novel has just been started to be translated and the translators wants to translate the novel using the chinese online novel that is on jjwxc, and that translator wants to wait for the edited chapters to be released before translating it ( i mean they can use a pirated site that has the same content as jjwxc before the novel was locked) But the chances of this happening are small, as the majority of novels that has/will have a LA ( as finished filming or are in production), are translated already, or are published, so the translator can use the published version. This will only affect most likely the novels that will have a LA in the future, i mean years from now, but was not completely translated until then , and what chances are for this to happen?
MDZS/TGCF was completely translated, and the epubs can still be found if you know where to look for them, and a lot of people who read the novels in the past have it. Mo du is completely translated with the posibility to download the novel in epub format. Sha Po Lang, Faraway wanderers, Guardian are completely translated. If you want to read SPL, use this website, is from the original translator of SPL, but for some reason her translation it can`t be found in NU- https://www.northwestflower.net

And yes, it may be possible they did this to prevent issues that may appear by reading the novels the dramas are adapted from, when the dramas will be released. I did think about it too, since it may explain why only the novels that are/will have LA are affected.

I was pretty optimistic before, but i think they are going overboard with this. But i will just complain and move on, because we don`t have any right to criticize another country when it comes to the way they are doing things.
For now, it won`t affect international fans that much, because the chinese novels that were completely translated until now, can still be found on other pirated websites like shubaow, 52shukuw etc, so the translators can use some of those websites to translate the original chinese content that is not edited, or until the novels are unlocked. And i think the majority of translators that works on popular novels translate them using the chinese published novel.
The novels translated already won`t be edited. But this do create a lot of issues, because if will be multiple versions of the same novel: the published censored/uncensored version ( from mainland/taiwanese/western sources), different online chinese versions of the same novel, maybe even different versions of the translated novel (but because the novels that has LAs has already been translated, it won`t happpen most likely).
From what i read, is as charlie and Absolute_Unit_Truly_Awe_ has posted, the only ones that are locked are the novels that had a LA released or that have LA that will be released, but we don`t know if in time, this will not affect other popular danmei novels that don`t have LA ( things are changing really fast in China, something that we think it has not way of happening, can happen).
But, i am really surprised that Priest novels are affected, because as some people has said already, the romantic relationship and all BL content is sprinkled here and there. I mean, i like reading shounen ai novels that has good plot than yaoi novels with explicit scenes, and i don`t mind if the romance is slow burn and minimal, but when it comes to Priest novels i empathize and agree with anyone that says that they are frustrated of the fact that her novels are too plot driven and because of this the characters and relationship development feels like it lacks a lot. I really like Priest novels, but her long novels, like Mo Du, Can Ci Pin can be really hard to make one want to read without skipping events. The bl content is just.....sigh, even Meng Xi Shi and FTYX are more enjoyable to read for the bl content, so i really don`t understand why Priest novel has to be affected at all.
If Priest novels are affected is only a matter of time before 2ha and MDZS is affected too, but i really hope this stops here and it don`t affect other novels that don`t have LA in production. This will also make the authors reluctant to sell/renew the license rights for their novels ( license rights also expire after a time) to be adapted in dramas.
Mo du/Silent reading, Faraway wanderers, Sha Po Lang and a lot of Priest novels has violent content, especially Mo du since is a crime/invest novel, and sigh editing the violence out will change the core of the novel. I don`t know, i am just spechless, i hope they put a rating system , to restrict what minors shouldn`t read. I read they were a lot of complainings and people asking to add a rating system for games and donghuas, and they are considering this.
When it comes to games especially, they have already applied some restrictios on what the children are allowed to play.

Yes. But let's be optimistic about it. Bl donghuas are already censored, they only have to be careful for the content to be not too violent. And is still to early pronounce about it. The story will not change that much if it has less violent scenes, they can take " shots from afar" or something like this or make cuts that lefts out violent scenes, but the viewer still knows what happens. It can be worked alround all the restrictions they can put, as long as they aren't directly banned.

Yes. Like i said, i read something similar too, they want to put more restrictions on violent scenes, but it don't target bl donghuas especially, they are censored already, and at least 3 bl donghuas will be released this year, Scumbag, Li huo jiao chou, and probable Thousand autumns . We gave nothing to worry about. They want to do this in consideration to kids, because they don't have the separate rating based on age. Is possible this may bring good changes, as i read ia possible they will considere adding the rating system, at least for donghuas, but we will see. This happening because everything has to be convenient to kids is not fair and is ridiculous really, but this happens because they are complainings from parents. An user in twitter has made a poll that asked in what rating Mdzs donghua should be placed and the majority and i too has chosen 15+. Parents are right too, but all can be resolved by separating donghuas by rating, sigh.

This is not entirely true. As far as i know the unofficial ban and new restrictions on censorship only affects dramas. For novels i didn't heard being affected at all ( the restrictions about the content allowed for novels were in place for some years back- like chapters of novels in jjwxc being removed or locked because they have extended explicit content or r**e, dubcon, noncon scenes are old news. Doghuas, especially bl donghuas from bilibili stoping airing and being released out of the blue happens all the time, it don't mean they are related to an increase of censorship or a similar unofficial ban that exist for dramas. Can ci pin donghua is still released as usual right now, Mdzs didn't have any problems during is airing ( this is also why the production company is important, Tencent productions aren't taken down almost at all). They are some new rumours floating around that some donghuas are at risk to be taken down to be edited, bu this is related to the complainings that they are not suitable for children, as China don't have in place the viewing restriction based on rating ( 13+, 15+ etc), and the motive is the gore, violent content. And it happened before with Mdzs, it has taken down, edited and uploaded again, is nothing to worry about.
I have the impression that you are kind of down, or have a too pessimistic view about all this, so this is why i wrote this. Let me give you a hug.

From what i read, they are doing training again now, and the filming is expected to resume in octomber. But, they…
In my opinion TU production as overall- not only the shooting, but also the costumes (that i find them unique and elegant), the music, the sets are really memorable, and the best amongst the danmei LA adaptations made until now, and i really like the way Chan Ka Lam has done the shooting, and i don`t think they have the budget and connections to hire someone as good as him to direct the drama from now on, if this is true.
We also have to keep in mind the budget the Untamed had, who was really half of the budget Immortality and WIK is rumoured to have ( i heard TU had a budget of about 100-120 millions), the CGI was the thing that reslly hinted the drama is low budget. Considering this, Untamed did very well in managing their budget.

Are they still filming this?
From what i read, they are doing training again now, and the filming is expected to resume in octomber. But, they are some rumours that are seems to be picked up and spread much more quickly now that the director Chan Ka Lam has resigned, and this is not good. If this is true, and we will know in time most likely, the expectation than this drama will be filmed as well as Untamed because of the director, will be groundless, sigh. Here is where i read about this recently, but this was a rumour initially spread among the chinese fandom.https://twitter.com/takewithsalt/status/1441845971957157893

But @takewithsalt is not a reliable user, i am also waiting for other reliable twitter users to adress this.

Confirmed. It's been cancelled
All i have to say is the drama is not cancelled. Chinese danmei LA adaptations aren`t banned or cancelled, why don`t anyone read any comments that were made previously here? But again, with the amount of comments that are posted here everyday, is not wonder people don`t bother. This is the disavantage of a page being as popular as this.

Title The Untamed
I just read that c entertaiment will banned all bl drama..are the untamed include?or that only old rumor?
No. What it happens is not about danmei adaptation dramas that already aired like Untamed, WOH or Guardian, there is not any reason of why they have to be affected. While WOH was affected already because of ZZH scandal, but not matter what happens to cdramas in China it won't affect the availability of the dramas to international fans ( once a cdrama is aired in China and are made available to international fans, China don't any power to what happens to the dramas outside China). What it happens know, is not a ban, but something equivalent to it- NRTA has expressed that they are against the trend of bl danmei adaptations, so this means that they want to limit the number of danmei adaptations that can be released per year, and they will impose some more restrictions and more harsher censorship ( we will probably never see for a long time a drama similarly with WOH-by this as mean, that has a content that has more of a bl vibe than bromance), and it will be hard for danmei dramas to be released for a while, until the storm calms down. And it affects only the dramas that were filmed, are curently filming but weren't released until now.

I just saw it in KissAsian here: https://kissasian.li/Drama/The-Night-Beyond-the-Tricornered-Window
There is no way to watch the movie in english from a legal, official platform since it was not sold to any international platform like viki, wetv, netflix. Usually japanese movies don`t have a legal, official website from where to be watched, because Japan don`t really care about international fans. For japanese dramas this is better, as they are usually sold to viki or wetv.
The only way you can support the movie is by buying the DVD of the movie in japanese, and i don`t know if it exist some japanese official online websites for japanese movies.
Or support the translator who subbed the movie by watching it in her website.
Here is the translator website- https://mirukukohii.livejournal.com/8844.html

I saw her prof pic is a dog...and she posted a cat...So, 2ha is really her masterpiece! HAHAHAHow did you know…
No. But some of them do make money from the ads they add in their websites, even through only a few of them have ads. Another way is that usually they are being supported by people using- give me a coffee or patreon. So some of the translators, especially the ones that do this for a long time, like Chicken gege, Chrysanthemum garden group, but many others too, are getting supported this way.Essentially, from what i observed, they are doing this because they love the novels, and want to share it with others. They are translating the novels in their free time, and this is why usually the release schedule varies so much. They translate, but they don't go out of the way to do it quickly, is more of a hobby.
There is not obligation from their part, and they can take breaks between the release of thr chapters or drop the translation at any time, that's why some novels have multiple translators or some were droped and not continued by anyone for a long time. Usually getting to read a novel until the end is a matter of luck, it's getting better now, but a few years ago was drammatic really. Take Thousand autumns, it was started to be translated in 2017, and only now it will be completely translated.

I also observed that sometimes, if the translators really love an author or a novel, they translate and add in NU even the parts of chapters or full chapters that the authors have posted in instagram, twitter or other platforms.
That`s why when they are chapters translated in NU that can`t be found in jjwxc website, they usually originates from the published novel or chapters made available by the author using other means.

From what i know, the mainland ( China) published novels are a censored version ( but it does have more fluffly and bl content than the novels released in jjwxc platform online and it has some more extra chapters or bonus content, things like that ) , while the taiwanese published version are uncensored. Usually novels that are really popular, like Sha Po Lang, other Priest novels, Meng Xi Shi novels- it has both versions, a taiwanese and mainland one.
MXTX novels that will be published in english are uncensored, and i read all published non- chinese novels, like in english, rusian, etc, and even from previous releases (since i read MDZS was published before in english for some countries, but no made in a high scale) are uncensored.
The uncensored novels are probably translated from the original uncensored script made available by the author or from the taiwanese published version.
jjwxc is the the larger chinese web novels site. The second best when it comes to the bl novels translated from there is Changpei, here is a list of the novels from there- https://www.novelupdates.com/opublisher/chang-pei-gongzicp/
https://www.novelupdates.com/opublisher/jiangsu-phoenix-art-publishing-house/ - this site has also some bl novels translated
There is qidian too, but it has more BG novels
Anyway they are alot of publishers, https://www.novelupdates.com/list-original-publisher/?st=1&sort=count&order=desc You can see here.
A novel can also be hosted by more than one platform, while having a different version of it, but it happens rarely.

The restrictions on novels are not new from what i know.
I read i think about one or two years ago about jjwxc checking the chapters and locking or removing chapters of novels that has problematic content, like dubcon, noncon, r**e scenes, and long explicit scenes too. They also don't allow overly explicit sex scenes too, but i don't know how long back the restrictions were implemented.
But starting from this year, they do it more actively, especially for newly released novels. I am sure, that they are not removing any chapters that has a very short and light non con or dub con, or just l short mentions of r**e scenes, but the chapters were those scenes are long, and overly explicit
If you will check in NU, you will see that the novels that has explicit content or really heavy problematic content are not from jjwxc or if they are from them, the chapters translated are more likely from the published version of the novel- especially the ones from Taiwan because they are usually uncensored ( this refer to popular novels usually, like the ones from Priest, MXTX and Meatbun). Is also probably for the older novels, especially the ones published before the restrictions begin, to escape for the surveillance, after all jjwxc has a lot of novels, not even including the BG ones. They are a few other platform beside JJWXC were authors can release their novels. For 2ha, most likely the chapters translated are from an uncensored published version of the novel.
This is also why authors sometime release part of chapters, extra chapters using another platform that don`t have those restrictions, i read Meng Xi Shi and Priest also interacts with their fans and has done this before.
