This dont`t mean that the cast added in douban at this moment is not true. Just that is not confirmed, and that when it comes to this drama, they were way too many rumors and douban and MDL changed the casting everytime. Thus we can conclude they both can`t be trusted until official confirmation.
Like everyone has posted here, i also believe that at least for playing XL and HC, Zhang Linghe and Zhai Xiaowen are the ones chosen. They are too many channels in twitter who point to them, and i saw they will film in July, so meetings and such will take place, so is inevitable the casting will be confirmed soon.

I don`t think they will make another one. They don`t have enough material. I think people who are confused about this haven`t read the manga.
The drama don`t only adapted the first volume (The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese) but most part of the second volume (The Carp on the Chopping Block Jumps Twice). This movie has adapted both, that`s the information were trying to say.
As i read both volumes of the manga carefuly, i can tell you, they adapted almost all. Changes were made, so maybe this is why people didn`t notice, but the movie adapted the second volume almost entirely, but only letting out the reunion between Imagase and Kyouchi. Only that was left out, and is not enough material left to make another movie.
I think it will be possible, only if the second movie will be based on a original script that the manga writer works at especially for the movie, as i heard she participated actively in writing the script for this movie.

It`s rumored the filming will start in Mid-July and will take 8 months.

I have somehow of a different opinion from the majority of people who commented here. I really liked the movie.
I think the story was really good and make the watching exciting and i am really grateful the characters has chemistry. But a part of it, is the fact that i enjoy watching crime/invest dramas and movies, and about supernatural events, and this movie has both.
I don`t regret watching the movie, as i really like the characters, they have depth and feel like real persons. I don`t need a obvious bl relationship if i like the characters separately and i feel they understand each other. Now, don`t get me wrong, is still lacks the impact at times when it should, but i consider it an entertaining movie and i will rewatch it in the future.

After watching the movie ( not in god translation, might as well be raw, but the advantage of watching japanese movies and series for years, is that i understand most that it happens and said), i understand the comments here and the high rating already, even through it has only about 100 people who voted.
I don`t know if people noticed but, japanese bl movies and dramas has a much more lower rating compared to bl movies and dramas from other countries. I concluded this is because of the culture, styling and the mood of the productions coming from Japan , that are much more serious and realistic compared with other asian countries. The reason i like bl movies coming from Japan the most is precisely because of these reasons and the fact that the cinematography is just very artistic and wonderful, and mixed with some specific charm that only this country has.
Thos movie is a 10/10 and i am not kidding. Is not just a wonderful conclusion of Pornographer, Moon indigo, Pornographer - Spring Life, but is amazing on his own and it tackles everything that was left unresolved and untouched in the previous two short dramas. Watching Pornographer: Continued Spring Life will follow.
The acting is just amazing and the characters get a much more consistent and relatable character development than in the previous dramas. I love even the imperfections the movie has, since as a whole is amazing.
If last year Restart After Come Back Home (2020) and The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese (2020) were movies i didn`t think i need and one of the greatest things i watched in a long time, Pornographer playback is the reason why this year will remain memorable to me.

The rumor is that Zhang Linghe will be Hua Cheng and i also strongly think that. Zhai Xiaowen will play Xie Lian.

From the last rumour i saw in twitter, the lead protagonists has been decided to be Zhang Linghe and Zhai Xiaowen. Is possible they will be the ones playing Hua Cheng and Xie Lian. And it seems the drama will be scheduled to broadcast in the summer of 2023.I hope they will made an official announcement or something similar soon.

The cast added in douban is not realiable, every user can make changes there, like here in MDL too. The cast added in douban is the latest rumour only, and is the same that was added in MDL until when it was taken down recntly.
There was discussions about this in this page, if you read some previously made comments, you will see that. There are posts made, asking people to not add the cast before anything is confirmed anymore, since this was made too many times, people should stop doing this.
