Wann has little presence in the novel compared with the series but i like his easy going, optimistic, his vibe of always knowing what to do and say in every situation. Pure has the biggest character development in the novel in my opinion, and is beautiful to see how is influenced after the encounter with all his friends, and Folk. Really, Pure commitment to Folk and his persistence to never separate and not give up without trying everything to mke their relationship work, especially when Folk is hurt because of that misunderstanding years after they are together, it makes the reading very satisfying. Hope is not boring reading all my writing, as a avid bl novel reader, beside other things, i have moments when i want to share my views .

The things i like the most about the novel is: - the relaxing atmosphere of the novel, - the writing style of the author, it makes it very easy to understand and imagine what it is happening - the fact that the author imagined the characters in various period of time, my favorite being when they are in the faculty and when they are working - the inclusion of the relations of the couples with some members of their family; Pai and his many worries about the fact that he has to inherit his father place and continue the familly line, and how this conflict is resolved, Folk and how his close relationship with his brother are influencing the relationship with Pure - not the last, the close bonds of Pai, Wann, Pure, Folk, Itt. It makes all the reading worth, they are always at each other side when needed and they are able to talk about almost everything.
Individually, i don' like especially the personality of Itt, i can't figure out exactly his personality, and it has many changes in behaviour, maybe the writer wanted for Itt to be a bit of a mistery, Pai is a bit too proper, he almost give up of his relationship with Itt to conform to what is expected of him, he tries to be perfect all the time, and that can be boring at times. Pure and Folk are my favorite couple, i just love Folk, he is the most honest, one of the best writted characters in the novel, his scenes have impact. Pure, in contrat is more practical and is the force behind the relationship, something like that, Unexpectedly after he is committing to Folk, he goes all the way.
FreshKicks is right, Itt is Mr. 950. It`s a bit embarassing now when i read again and i realised what i huge mistake…
Yes, I know. I discovered and started reading the hanayuki translation when the translator was translating the first chapters but i am spoiled by all the new or put in hold chinese bl novels, that are more easy to read, that i put a stop temporary in reading this novel. If i did not read before the translation with google translate and spoiled myself, it will be different, but i appreciate Hanayuki, it's better than nothing, and he is trying his best.

Thank you for pointing out my mistake, i hate to say incorect information to people, so you saved me. I originaly was not attracted a lot by the novel version of Pai and Itt , but in the series, for them is like they used the brackground and the main events from the novel, but made changes to characters that i will never understand why it is necessary. Itt especially, why the hell the writter made him to so mean and cold to Pai, that atitude will no work in attracting anyone to like you in real life. I iiked what you wrote, ``who would want someone like that as their boyfriend?`` Your really replied well to cath1995 , and because of the changes made to Itt in the series, compared with the novel, we can only hope that at least we will get a easy to shallow explanation of Itt behviour, but i will be dissapointed if Pai will just let it slide, and not ask for a proper explanation.
I still don't understand a thing about ep 9, even when it's the most interesting episode... Can someone explain…
FreshKicks is right, Itt is Mr. 950. It`s a bit embarassing now when i read again and i realised what i huge mistake i made. I don`t know why i was so sure that it was Folk, maybe because when i read the novel it was from google translate from thailand and i didn`t like very much Pai and Itt as characters, i was more focused in reading the story of Folk and Pure and i did lot of flash-forward for many of not essential events. I still hope that someday will be available a good translation of the novel, it`s worth the reading, and having actual live action counterparts make`it more easy to get attached to the characters. I always ended up liking more the novels that are adapted in series/movies.
The book version of Pai is sassy and more confrontational. For some reason the series version is more passive.…
The thing that i am the most disappointed from the series is the way Pure is described, and the actions he seems to take in the next 3 episodes. He still not changed ever a little from how he was before, how will they make the audience believe he really changed in soo little time, why the hell the writter get him involved the relationship between Beau and Wann ( Wann did not find anyone he was interested in this period of time in the novel). I am waiting for a really believable story to explain his change of mind in the next episode. I mean Pure was really an asshole to Folk in the novel for not making his relationship with Folk clear enough, and spending a lot of time with Folk, taking advance of Folk not telling him to fuck off, and that he is hurting not knowing where he stands with Pure. But i feel in the series, already Pure is making more stupid actions by pursuing Beau after getting with Folk, and he seeems too used to his way of sleeping around and not being open with falling in love with someone, that i am afraid that even when he is getting together with Folk, it will not feel naturaly, genuine.
Folk is Mr, 950, not Itt. The hint is in episode 7 when Folk asked Pai to tell him where room 950 is, but Pai…
It is the the novel too. In the novel Folk was the the Mr.950 too. If i remember well, but i'm not very sure, in the novel don't explain in detail too how Folk knew what Pai likes But i guess Folk managed to find a way to know.

I really believe that this series would have been much better if the characters and the succesion of the scenes resemble more with the ones from the book. The depth, complexity of the characters and believity of some of the actions pales in comparision with the novel. Some actions the characters do, come across as childish, immatureor nosense, i don`t think they are, but they seem to be. I think Wann is the more down to earth, consistent and the best writted character in the series, and is different from how is described in the novel. I`ts to early to make a firm opinion about Folk, but seems to be portrayed similar to how is in the novel. Itt is acting to creepy, what the hell man, if it was in reality, i will never accept his actions, and be able to believe in his feelings after all his manipulations, even if it is for my sake ( again Itt is portrayed as to mean and agresive compared with the novel). Pai come across as to passive, depressive even, and with to much lack of confidence in himself compared with the novel, Pure is to messed up, broken and with to many things to fix to be able to make me believe that he will he totally invested in his future relationship with Pure and really deserving of his love, I am thankful to this series because it gave me actual persons to imagine as the characters from the novel, it makes the reading always much more enjoyable

Folk is Mr, 950, not Itt. The hint is in episode 7 when Folk asked Pai to tell him where room 950 is, but Pai did not remember that moment, so he don`t know for sure who really Mr.950 is. He will find out soon.
Usually I'm ok with a bestfriend being the wing person but not when you're purposely getting in the way of someone…
Yes, i mean i feel they give Pure too many scenes that makes him look bad, even put him in situtions when it don`t mess up things in purpose, and the scenes from the next episode made him seem that he will not change that easy. I`m afraid that the change for the better will not be believable and realist when it will happe, if they keep adding scenes when he keep messing up. The scriptwritter made Pure to be much more affected and messed up from the past relationship and hard for anyone to trust him compared to Pure from the way he was described in the novel. In the novel the issue that prevented Pure to realise quickly that he love Pure enough to want to finally commit to relationship to Folk, it was his belief that no one will love him sincerely. It took for Folk to decide to put a stop to their uncertain relationship and tell him that being with him hurts, because he can`t take being another of his sexual encounters, for Pure to change. Pure never looked at anyone and never persued anyone after he is sleeping with Folk in the novel. I feel Pure is used to add a spice to the relationship between Wann and Beau, to make Wann fight more for Beau, but is making Pure be the bad guy again and it give him real motive, not a misunderstanding for Pure to hurt Folk. It is unfortunately that Pure have to be used in this way, when originally in the novel did not do these things.
I'm more afraid of the Chinese fans now. It's really popular in China now but just looking back at what happened…
I want to share the fact that, this is a japanese series adapted from a manga, so you can`t assume that what happened with the series writed by you above will happen here. In general, and this is really a rule most of a time, when Japan decide to make a series/movie from a manga. the adaptation is following very faithfully to what happened in the manga, only changing the succesion of some scenes or adding some scenes similar to the tone of the manga, to make the series a bit more realist. But the tone, crucial scenes and the endings are very similarily to that of the manga that is based from. The best example i can give yoe is the series: Life Senjou no Bokura( is made almost exactly the same like the manga) and Pornographer ( even trough here, the series did end a bit earlier than the ending of the manga, but i believe is a more believable and realist ending and it fit with what was happening until the ending) and the movies: Seven days (the movie is very similar with the manga) and No Touching At All and the upcoming movies, that from the trailer seem to follow the events of the manga for who they are adapted: Restart After Come Back Home, The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese, The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window. I observed that the authors of the mangas most of the time get to participate in the writing of the script too., especially when it comes to movies. I think these faithful adaptation to the source material, if the movies/series are based from mangas/noves, are possible when it comes to Japan, because of their culture, and deep respect for the authors, the belief that the manga became popular because the story and characters were writed that way, so they have no right to make toughtless changes. In conclusion, it the manga has a happy ending or a bad ending you can be 100% sure that the adaptation will have the same ending. This manga is not completed, but for the happy/ everything will be alright tone of the manga, i am sure it will be a happy ending, and with more than just an affirmation of their feelings, because japanese actors are very professional, if they have kiss scenes to do, it will not disappoint us.
People seem hung up on the flashback aspect of the series. I wonder if there'd be as many complaints if they'd…
The complaints are not only because the story is presented as a continuous storyline, from high school to faculty, but because they`re using too many episodes to show the past( i mean what happened in high school). The scenes in the faculty, at the start of the first episode, may as well not matter, because they are like four minutes and it didn`t spoil many things that happened in the past , before the story are taking us to high school. In reality, if we skip the first 4 minutes, and until episode 7, it is just a single long flashback that is showing all that happened in high school, so the story is continuous. It is not like in Friendzone2 where the story are alternating between the flashbacks from the past and the events from the present. When they get in faculty, most likely we will not see scenes from the past anymore. It is possible the series will be appreciated more if they did`it like in Friendzone, but we will never know now. Or if you wanted to say that, if they started from high school, without these first 4 minutes, i honestly don`t think these minutes makes that much of a difference. I personally think it was better that they were included, so as they wanted us to gives us a taste of what is happening//will happen in the present, but i think it had more chance to make a difference if they returned to the present more close to the first episode (like in ep 2-3), now the series has losed some of the anticipation from the audience.
Yes, The Untamed, like the majority of chinese series is draggy. Thanks god for the special series because not matter how much i like Wei Wuxian/Lan Zan and YIBO/XIAO ZHAO i didn `t have patience to watch the whole series. The majority of others characters and plots are boring and at some point the plot gets very sad and it makes you have a hard time to continue watching.
You pointed out what exactly i think it happened to the two half of 2Gether (i was so mad with what happened with their relationship, they killed the development done until then and what could have been a almost perfect series), and with the current series done by New. They ruined LBC2, not only by retelling their storyline, but by making the impression that they dind`t put much effort and passion in making this series compared to LBC 2, i mean the cinematography, editing and writing are worst and more careless than LBC1. In the case of MGYG, they had to make more than half of the series take place in high school, a thing that will not appeal to the more adult audience or the people tired of high school setting, especially if the events seems like are repetitive and are not bringing much to the development that it will happen in faculty. I think the story will get better starting when they get in faculty, but the fact that the first half has Lovesick vibes( and the quality is not much better than Lovesick) and they will not have enough time to give a realistic closure of the events and the couples, will not change. New almost alwasy gives an unsatisfying ending to his series. Many people do not know if/and when the characters from MGYG are moving to the present, to the faculty, and are dropping the series, and i can`t blame them. In the case of Oxygen, i watched the first episode and first half of the second episode, and i took a break and then i could not make myself to continue. My reason is that i couldn`t stand the main couple (the characters i mean, their personality comes as not interesting, and the story makes not sense) i did not see a natural chemistry between them, and the actors are not only bad at acting, they are like they are not even trying ( i mean, i know is their first time acting, and maybe they are indeed doing their best, but they are coming across as they don`t know what they are doing. The storyline is not helping either, it comes as immature and superficial sometimes. I usually watch a few more episodes before i am dropping a series, but with them, my intuition was telling me, that i won`t like them even if i keep watching the series.
sooo... right when they're about to enter uni you decide to drop it? LOL ok.. GJ getting to this point thoEdit:…
Thanks for the reply. I used to like Love Sick too, i watched the series when it was airing, and then Hormones, and i think MIR was the last i watched i think. When i watched MIR, i realised that i saw that the things that the characters experienced are gettting boring for me, that i don`t have patience anymore to see series that take place in this period. I realised that my taste started to change naturally after watching to many series set in the same setting and not getting surprised anymore. And because the years passed as well, i would not enjoy Lovesick as much as when i was watching it seven years ago, if i am watching the series now. I hope they will make as few as possible bl series that are taking place in high school, because usually these stories have a limit of how depth they can have, they can`t keep making bl series at the same level as Lovesick or MIR, because the competition from other coutries it is fiercer, we have other options now, will not be satisfied by anything they put on air. I`m bit content when the series are taking place in university, but i feel some series only use the setting without making the chracters feel like they are university students, like may as well the setting is taking place in high school, because it will not make a difference.
sooo... right when they're about to enter uni you decide to drop it? LOL ok.. GJ getting to this point thoEdit:…
The biggest change is because the production time choose to spend so many episodes for the flashbacks, many scenes was added that were not in the novel. Like all the scenes with Itt mom didn`t happen in this period in the novel, and it was not even described in detail in the novel, all the scenes with Pure and Wann didn`t exist in the flashbacks too, heck they didnd`t even know each other that much, before they meet each other in the faculty, they were nonexistent in the flashbacks, the friendship between the 4 of them didn`t happen until they meet again in the faculty. Because so many scenes were added between Pure and Wann, people started to ship the, and now have a hard time warming up to Pure and Folk, and i get sad when i read those comments. Wann don`t have that much presence in the novel, like in the series, the focus is Itt and Pai and Pure and Folk, Wann is just a common friend of Pai especially and a bit with Pure and appear only when they unite/have to do something together. The parents of Bai are not introduced now and the scary encouter of Pure with HIV as well. I mean i understand that adding these scenes assure depth to the plot, but why didn``t spent 1-2 episodes for the flashback and add some of these scenes in the faculty, because the characters are already more consistent and the things that happen between the characters are more easy to believe and see as such . I tend to not watch series that take place in high school because the characters are immature, incosistent in their decisions, don`t know for sure what they want, and because of that i can`t take the love stories that happen in this phase as serious. In my case, these seven episodes , because they present the life of the characters when they are this young can became hard to watch, it reminded me of when i was watching Lovesick, these episodes are catering/adressed more to teens, that of more divers groups of people, i hope you get what i mean. I just have a hard time taking the events that happens on the flashbacks as important or have a major impact for the future scenes that will happen in faculty. I still like the series, but i can`t help to ask myself that if they adapted the events more faithfully to the novel, or if they introduced the events happening in the faculty more earlier and they added only the important flashbacks between some events that happen in the faculty, would make the series be liked by more people. I am not sure if it some words can be considered spoilers so i put the reply in a spoiler in any case.
sooo... right when they're about to enter uni you decide to drop it? LOL ok.. GJ getting to this point thoEdit:…
Coming for someone who has read the novel, the flashback period in the novel is not taking more than ten chapters, from a novel with 120+ chapters. That`s why i`m dissapointed, the production team has plenty of material to adapt, and the important stuff are taking place in uni and adult life, when they are showing a bit when they are working and how it affecting their relationship too. Only if they decide to make a 2 season, it justify a little spending so many episodes for the flashback period, but even if they plan to do that, for the persons that watch various bl series from different countries for many years, this decision is not an excuse for the chapters being dragging, and the writing not that good. I think , in this case, the series could have been much better if the writing was made more faithfully to the novel, the changes made are not that smart.
Dropping this. I'm sorry I really wanted to watch this but there's just too much flashback and montage. They could've…
If i wouldn't have been fascinated with the way Fiat is playing Pure, and because i like his chemistry with Folk, and i`m curious how well their story is writed and brought to life by Fiat and Un, i would have dropped it too.
7 episodes in and we’re finally introduced to Folk, who according to the trailer is Pure’s love interest.…
Yes, they are really cute. Folk is a decent actor, he appeared in 2- 3 scenes only, but for his expressions and body language i can tell what kind of personality he has. And his chemistry with Pure is really good, i am surprised how good it is. The contrast between their personalities is what he makes this couple click well and have their own charm.
