I knew from the moment that I started this unique show that it would get renewed. It's just too phenomenal to not have a continuation. My body is ready
I dropped this one after watching 5 episodes. Idk what's wrong with me. there is literally not one bad comment…
no no i felt the exact same way. boring and slow paced in areas that didn't require slow pacing. lots of filler dialogue and scenes that the show could have been done without.
Everyone is giving this high ratings, I am only on episode 3 and its boring for me. I mean I like it but its deeply…
yes yes yes!!! to everything you said! i stopped at episode 3 too! couldn't get past the main lead's stoic personality and bland character. that's not to say a character can't be emotionless and interesting; take Hwang Si Mok from Stranger as an example, he was emotionless but not in a the-actor-can't-express-the-emotions-through-the-screen-well type of acting but in a profoundly realistic and believably charming manner. i had super high hopes but it just wasn't my cup of tea. THAT and reading comments/reviews about how mental illness and LGBT topics were mistreated in the show by the main characters, was upsetting, and i'm glad you picked up on the autism as well.
Just finished watching Stranger for the second time after having first seen it a year ago. I can confirm it's: A flawless, clever drama, that's even more thrilling the second time around because you notice how seamlessly woven the plot is. My mouth is left agape during each episode, I was practically sliding off my chair because of how much it left me on the edge of my seat. And now it's slated for SEASON 2?! Sign me the f up.
I honestly feel like I'm the kid at the party where everyone but me is having fun and I just wanna go home lol.…
Sad to hear you didn't enjoy it, but truth be told, everyone's attention span and taste is wildly different. For me, I like a properly paced show that covers all the crucial details without rushing, exaggerated characters for a plot device or to be attention-grabbing the whole way through. Honestly, if you continue watching, you may end up being pleasantly surprised. It soon picks up and the plot thickens immensely, with major twists putting main characters in danger and even resulting in unexpected casualties. The main lead also develops in ways you wouldn't expect, and this leads to the exciting news that the show is slated for a S2!
Really hate this sort of dramas where the ratings, reviews and people's opinions are polar opposites. This one…
I stopped at episode 2 because IU's character is downright unlikeable. She was expressionless and manipulative all the way through. I found it difficult to watch such a vengeful character using everyone for her own gain. But that's just my POV. :)
As someone who doesn’t watch horror movies/dramas... I was underwhelmed. I’m honestly confused why it’s…
This is the most sound, accurate review of this show that I've seen, so far. I concur with everything you said. The first episode really was a masterpiece! Ep1 set the perfect tone, and it's almost as if they (the producers) spent 90% of their budget on that one faithful episode. Unfortunate to say the least. It had so much more potential, and I can't help but compare it to Save Me, which is an exceptional masterpiece.
Yo, don't write a review if you've dropped the show... You simply wrote your first impression of the show, and…
If you properly read my review you would comprehend my reasoning as to why I think this show is unwatchable; it had little to do with the cinematography and production itself, but rather everything to do with the bland storytelling.
People are free to write a review whether they complete the show, or not. I watched 6.5 seasons of The Walking Dead to logically conclude that the beginning of season 7 would forebode the show's demise; it did. S7 received the most harshest criticism and fan outrage, unlike any other previous season. What I wrote was not a "first impression" but a gut instinct. I commented a shorter version of my review in the comment section, and many spectators concurred with my criticism.
No doubt Jin Yoo Young's husband is a cheating sleaze; however, she obviously knew it and was embarrassed by Jo…
I completely agree, but also, as we can tell, she's in complete denial. She's avoiding the truth and projecting her denial onto Seok Moo, because she wants to seem like the bigger person. She's evidently insecure with herself and she's not prioritizing her health. Seok Moo-- being an old friend and lover-- had every right to inform her of her unhealthy ways, but he could have executed it better. It probably left her feeling guilty and ashamed of herself, so she became defensive.
One of the best and most refined dramas I have watched in a while, and I have only seen two episodes, so far. The episodes are packed with character development, brilliant humour, and powerful storytelling. A 7.5 rating is INACCURATE and I believe the ratings are low because people are not giving it a chance. Episode 2 is especially a tear-jerker, with unexpected twists and turns and complicated family dynamics. Excellent stories take time to build, so please, give this drama a chance and support the talented cast of actors! :))
This!! I feel bored already and i'm on episode 7. :(
Damn yeah I feel the exact same way. :( I feel like the writing is incredibly weak, and the acting (especially from minor characters) is bland and sometimes overacted.
I'm currently on episode 7, and I must say that it's becoming less and less interesting imo. Anyone feel the same way? :0 The first two episodes were a perfect mix of thrilling and entertaining (and the jump scares were great), but now it's just repetitive? I want to keep watching it, but I keep scrubbing through the episodes a lot because of the filler dialogues with no emotion. :((
Entertaining and interesting to watch? YES.Creepy? Not at all. And mind you, I'm a scaredy-cat.
Right? It's not scary at all. :( In fact, I'm on episode 6 and I find it a bit cheesy...like the exorcisms are a little overdone and go on for too long. The demon continuously laughing isn't even frightening, it's just annoying. I remember watching Supernatural, and the thing that was scary in SPN is that the demons were unpredictable and each demon reacted differently to the exorcisms. In The Guest, the demon, Sohn, is a lower ranked demon but I find that the different actors aren't playing it consistently. Maybe that's just me tho :<
