Someone like her, coming from that kind of family, can't bring herself to say it. She would rather give everything…
This is an isightful take. This would explain everything if she wasn't planning to steal the GMD anyway. But because she is, idk. If she's scared to tell him, what does she expect to happen after she steals the GMD? While it is scary to tell him and things might turn ugly, if she doesn't tell him and steals it, things WILL turn ugly.
Episode 19 was brilliant. Performances and the storytelling. You could feel MY's pain. And when she was in his arms, struggling against her nightmare, I think anyone who hadn't watched from start and known her mental strength, would be terrified that she might not come back. Loved the bit about the hairpin. There was a lot of nuance to it. Music directing was much more subtle, not starting or cutting the song abruptly.
any recs on other dramas with overdramatic flirty leads? i love their banter
Young Blood's couple had a lot of funny bantering, as they both were the cunning type. But fair warning that the overall concept is dark. Coroner's Diary, and Moonlight Mystique('s BTS). I don't remember if there was enough flirting. But lots of skinship and their bantering was fun.
Elaborate if you'd like. What exactly made you drop? Maybe people here can help you find one matching your taste.
Then I second "I Am Nobody" that Tejas mentioned. It wasn't my type because of its protagonists, but if you're ok with them, I've heard good things about it. And HMH was really good in there.
I think insulting real people for their different opinion about a fictional character is the real special brand…
I genuinely don't understand how someone can justify some things for themself. Sure you can call it survival, but being surprised that not everyone is ok with it?
And here I was hoping to see their team fight in the tournament with them somehow ending up recruiting Ming Yi (maybe Sun Liao breaks something in his body, so they not-so-reluctantly have to replace him)... but alas
Of course, I can only share my personal take. He went from rejecting her to suspecting her to trusting her. He gradually realized that she's clever, strong willed and has a good heart. She was constantly able to read the situation and help him out of trouble. He's surrounded by scoundrels and greedy people. I imagine aside from his two companion beasts, who started caring about him out of gratitude, and his master, he's never met someone genuine.
He already has high respects for Ming Xian in his heart. Even if she's pretending to be someone else, her nature doesn't change. She's a warrior at heart, not just a shallow pretty girl. It's not difficult to imagine he'd fall for her. But I've read some people didn't really get into the story till episode 5 or 6. Some are only starting to like it after episode 10. So it's up to you.
