The rating was high, im just starting, and episode one was ordinary, bad even, hated that bullying shit, and the…
I was annoyed too at first, but you'll know later that he had a reason for not wanting the thing to escelate.

The bullying, I feel you. Can't be helped. Annoyingly, recently every kdrama seems to have to start with long depictions of bullying. The drama will move on after first episode.

Yall don't even put in effort nowadays. At least add some shows to your account so it isn't too obvious.
Don't tell me. I'm actually glad you're such an open book.

I'm on episode 6 so far and I'm confused... is it just me or does the show pick up flavor further along the way…
If the story didn't grip you by ep 7, then I guess it's not for you. But if it's about the romance and leads relationship, I'd say hold on until the end of ep 10.

Can anyone tell me if this drama has a happy or sad ending...?Any Secondary couple? If so, what are their name?…
Technically there is a second couple. It's just that they had too brief of a chance.

Makes sense. But why say the northern emperor was pushed because of XWY? Wasn't he just waiting for EK to get rid of Ye army, to then get rid of EK?

The young emperor would send his military force to deal with Eagle king anyway. With or without XWY. Eagle king never really trusted XWY, so I doubt the location was his choice. If anything, the location was to the advantage of Northern emperor's troops. It was never shown or mentioned to benefit the Ye army in any way. Beifu army lying in ambush didn't need his infiltration either. They didn't need their general as a spy to know a big army is headed somewhere.

The rest is just accomplished by the previous plan of the Xiao family being alive, together with the fireball JY made. It didn't need any infiltration.

Li Lejun's death is so sad but yet so meaningful and powerful. She knew that for Li Mao to be a great emperor…
It was a powerful death and a beautifully shot scene.
Yet I believe LLJ was wrong. In fact her mindset was toxic throughout the story, albeit a result of her traumas.
An emperor isn't weak if he has friends or loved ones. Alienation is dangerous. Power has a way of corrupting its owner in the long run, if there are no bonds powerful enough to keep him grounded. Besides, not many can be an actual friend to a ruler.

Yep. Prince Chang Sa. πŸ˜πŸ˜†
Yes him πŸ˜„ It's like declaration of revenge or something. XWY really made sure the guy lost everything. I do miss that side of him.

At this point Li Mao sounds more obsessed with Wuyi than Jiayu. Like even getting Jiayu back is less because of love and more because of rivalry. Kind of interesting how ambitious he is despite his current lack of excellence.

Let's just say Min Hao is an absolute lovable foolβ€”it's practically impossible not to like him. Better yet,…
What you feel about the story is relatable. But I feel like this is mostly because of the length. It's not that the story is childish (the dialogues and complex themes and characters' backstories show that). It's that a lot of things feel rushed. If moments had time to breathe and fully establish (for instance, Li Mao's love slowly getting poisoned and turned to hatred, or XWY's development from ruthless-even-to-himself to cherishing life and relationships), the story could flourish as quite mature imo. But I feel like the runtime was too short for all that (I'm curious as to why).
About trying to avoid romance, you're right. Unfortunate, but it's probably for the better, all things considered.

I'm beginning to feel sorry for the eagle king. But then again, after treating occupied civians and war prisoners like THAT, karma has a way of reaching you. Still, he's an interesting character. I hope he doesn't get some cliche ending.
