Halfway through ep. 5 I was starting to put the pieces of the puzzle together and it all kinda made sense but then the ending fucked everything up again and now I'm more confused than never lol. This is a brilliant series and I've been loving every minute of it, can't wait for the next episode.
How the heck did they manage to literally wreck one of the best (If not the best) Japanese BL of 2021 with this adaptation? The Japanese set the bar high, true, but this series is so underwhelming that even If we do not make a comparison with the Japanese version it's still barely watchable (I'm being polite) and its current ridiculous high rating can easily be explained by GemFourth just being in it. Since I had really loved Kieta Hatsukoi and always liked GemFourth I had some expectations about this one so I'm quite disappointed now ๐ That being said, I really hope GemFourth will be in a more dramatic/mature project next time (their performance in Moonlight Chicken was sublime).
Wait, a transfer student that gets to know a classmate who happens to be his step-brother as his mom married the other student's dad. And they start off their relationship on the wrong foot but end up loving each other... Doesn't this plot sound a little too familiar? Not complaining, I'm actually liking this a lot already, I just wonder why Chinese/Taiwanese seem to be so into the step-brothers' love storytelling... Is there a reason?
Fun fact: Liu Dong Qin who plays as a highschooler is 30 years old while his teacher Zach Lu is only 5 years older and at the time of HIStory2 was around the same age as Liu Dong Qin playing a highschooler himself.
This was mostly a filler episode, we didn't find out anything new about the dreams and there was nothing too relevant…
It's the typical example of expectation vs reality, for some reason in our collective imagination there's this preconceived image that it's romantic to confess to someone by singing a love song when in reality it's the cringiest thing ever to do and it seems like Thailand is really holding onto it... ๐
For the life of me, I can't take any more falsetto !, let alone out of tune! It makes me want to smash the guitar…
I always skip those scenes in every single BL, they're always either cringe af or the performance is very lacking to say the least, this time it was both lol... ๐
