For sure unpopular opinion:

One of the worst storylines (if there is one) i ve ever watched in a drama/movie.
One sided characters -the actors did their best and they were the only thing that gave any value to this watch-but it wasnt enough to save that sinking boat.
A woman with traumatized childhood, ok so far.
A man that needs the love of everyone even if its fake, so he can survive -because of his trauma too.
ok with that too.
And then zero. Nothing.
Preaching ideas like: "dont ever get married or have kids, or date anyone"
Wtf? People can be happy only if they do one of all the above?
But ok lets say that was his character structure. Then what? What was the reason for them to be together-except that he embodied the "good and loving guy (on the surface)" and she was the loner so they would complete each other? He literally deceived her so to live together even though we never saw or learn WHAT exactly he liked about her. And it gets worse: he violates her privacy in everything, goes to her doctor-what kind of doctor brakes the confidentiality agreement and talks to a boyfriend about her PATIENT and where exactly does she know he's indeed the boyfriend? Last but not least he acts like the good son in law to get his girlfrend close to her horrible mother? REALLY?? In what planet these things happen and the other person should tolerate them???
If i were in her shoes, i would call a lawyer and suggest a psychotherapist to that guy-if i hadnt already sent him to hell.
Even a 12 year old kid wouldnt buy this story.
The only good thing is that there are only 2 episodes so it didnt waste much of my time.

Her peach toned makeup as Sang jiu was sooooooooooo good! The whole color palette of her orangey-red clothing and makeup was perfect!

1.The dragon is Ming Ye-god of war-in his original form. He turned into dragon after the whole thing with his wife, so that he reminisces everything with her in a loop. Its a dream state where our mains entered but the story they lived in that dream, indeed happened thousands of years ago. That dragon is the dragon that TJ tried to lure before, so to take strength.

4. Usually in Xianxia, to win and destroy the devil god, another god of the good side has to seal his/her soul and imprison the devil inside an artifact or something.
Yeap in almost every xianxia, devil god is almost unbeatable-they just imprison him and then after thousands of years he 's coming back stronger

have you seen these gods in TTEOTM?

Now that you mentioned it, we indeed got tired of pastel makeup on males and white long dresses in xianxia, as if they belong to some religious sect or something. Dont get me started! I ve watched and dropped too many crappy xianxia all these years-if it werent for Leo and Bai Lu i wouldnt be here! I could even consume shampoo commercial with them

I knew that TTEOTM was going to be a hit, first of all because Xianxia genre gives 1 out of 100 good enough every, well, many years.
Plus the big advantage of the main couple-people got crazy with Love is Sweet-though its not that good-it was decent but a bit boring-the couple saved the day there too.
With TTEOTM i almost lost hope waiting to be aired. So much good stuff is cancelled dye to a bunch of reasons, restrictions, actors being cancelled dye to tax evasion (im still crying over "Win the World"which was a pure pleasure-big budget production and good story) but thank god finally we got our drama and im fine with that. I have great expectations when it comes to art products -be it artistic or for entertainment purpose only-but yeap when it comes to chinese entertainment industry i keep my expectations low-too much crappy stuff and on the other hand, hidden little gems with low ratings but good actors and storyline.
p.s. no matter what, i will never forgive makeup artists who did that makeup to my babe Leo! That dark lipstick burns my eyes each and every time LOL

I ve got black thick hair and same eyes (ok the hair are dyed blonde now) but i 'd easily trade them for a pair of long slavic legs hahhahahahahahahahahah

I think they both "die" when it will be removed and we 'll have a 3rd arc with both of them in the immortal world-at least that's what i saw in one of the bts interviews of the director and actors. And my guess by that interview is that during that arc, they will still be in love tormenting between their fate and their feelings, so we still have way to go. Sure thing is that things will get messy again

Personally, i was already aware of what i ll watch from the photos leaked these past few years. I knew i wouldnt be satisfied with the make up or ML's styling etc. But you re right, the actors vibes here are so strong that can carry the whole thing on their back. I enjoy it to the fullest no matter the flaws-after all everything is a matter of taste. I remember back then when TMOPB aired, i couldnt stand Yehua's hair, or that long black cheap silky dress, but i cried my eyes out and laugh and be "awwwww" with everything on that huge hit (and i didnt even like the pairing of Mark Chao and Yang mi-though i like them individually!
Its good to point out the fails in any project, be it a movie a drama a book etc but the main point is to enjoy it when and if you like it. As for our main couple here, i would watch them even in a documentary of everyday life, cooking or just foolin around, they creat magic out of nothing!

Ukraine ha? Sadly i know some stuff about post USSR mentality towards women, especially during the times (90s mostly) when many women from these countries came here to find work and ended objectified and humiliated by greek men as "ussr beauties-slaves" (yes that was the term back then). The result was that they expressed their misogyny both towards foreign girls and towards local ones,-cause misogyny already existed here in Balkans- but needed an "excuse" to be expressed. So as a result,men slut shamed foreign girls for being beautiful (cause objectively speaking, here we are cute but not that gorgeous comparing with the slavic beauty) and at the same time shaming the locals for every other reason you can imagine.
The only good thing in that aspect was that both nations women (ex ussr and greek women) finally realised that misogyny has no nationality and can turn against any woman no matter how she looks. Im glad that i meet women from all over the world even on MDL and even more glad that now societies-at least here-can talk loud about these things, name them and try to fight those sick ideas.
On the majority of asian continent, they still have much work to do-women are still considered acceptable if the keep their voice low, get married and have babies to be recognised as useful and purposeful. I really hope that there will be a day that women around the world will find their original place in societies, raise their voice louder and live their lives acording to their own needs and not others.
