They are probably the die hard Winwin fans who can’t take people saying his character is annoying. So the ML needs some bashing too.

I also don’t see him as manipulative. I think the issue is that his character still hasn’t been fully fleshed out yet, so neither the viewers nor the FL have completely fallen for him at this point. The initial impression of him being cold and calculating is still lingering. Ideally, as their relationship develops, we’ll gradually see more of his softer and warmer side come through.

I also love that we are slowly seeing how their relationship is transitioning from transactional/business to now opening up

Yeah he has been working on it by doing theater playing a gay role in angels in america and morally gray character brutus in killing caesar. He needs to reinvent himself. all his last few roles have been boring, righthous, underdog type, he really needs a transformation.
