Although the setting is different, with one being in ancient times and the other in a Republican era, the many sects vying for power all being manipulated by someone, and the ML has to find out who is the master mind.

Both focus on investigating to find evidence to bring justice to crimes made. In Hello Procurator, the ML investigates the death of his parents, while in Truth the FL investigates the mystery of her father's death.

Ou Hou is the ML in the Eight, a republican drama about a fresh graduate who finds himself entangled in the affairs of a guild that represents eight professions (spies, sages, mechanics, deceivers, thieves, assassins, poisoners and entertainers). This drama showed off Ou Hou's versatility. If you liked him in Lover or Stranger, give the Eight a go!

I'm recommending this as I recognised a few veteran actors and actresses from The Story of Ming Lan. ???

Although it is hardly similar, the Captain is based on a true incident and a miracle safe landing after the Co pilot's windscreen shattered at 30,000 feet and the captain had to fly manually in freezing temperatures!

I'm a history buff, and although Dreaming Back is a fictional time travelling romance drama, the history of the Kangxi era is seemingly accurate. If you like to watch more about the Qing Dynasty, The Story of Yanxi Palace is a must-see drama about the Palace politics and the strive for power.
