I had the same ride with this though I got bored and stopped watching earlier than you. It's a shame really all the ingredients were there to make it interesting but all they managed was safe and bland. Almost worth it for the florist's wicked glances.

I like the reusing of 'set buildings' for different dramas. It's a bit like the ever present clichés if you look at them literally it's annoying and spoils your immersion but if you recognise them as narrative devices they can enhance the story. Like the 'nursing a fever' cliché indicates a steadfast and caring love a building can act as a cue as well. Oh yes that's a cold lonely Chaebol's house - that rooftop means house someone poor with a heart of gold and ambition etc.
Dreadful nonsense that I started skipping through within the first episode and dropped by the end of the third. Jerk lead, pathetic FL with a poor past - sigh, unfunny comedy and problematic behaviour ain't a good hook.
The whole eating(and drinking) deliciously is a hard sell for me too, all that gulping and smacking of lips is just foul. I get it, it's cultural; I was taught good manners was eating and drinking quietly with your mouth closed and that's obviously not the case in many Asian countries. "I like drinking alone" gulp gulp smack chew slurp in glorious surround sound - Arghhhhh!
So this is my last comment, because I have stuff to do and obviously I'm talking to the wind here. Expecting media…
You aren't talking to the wind, we are listening. Do you have any science to back up "changing how people perceive fiction and non-fiction. That can be done on the small scale, and have large returns overall." ? I have provided links to two articles which argue the exact opposite but if you can show anything that refutes them I will gladly concede your point. Or probably check your sources and then concede if they are valid.
ASPD, Toxic beauty standards, and Autism aren’t fantasies and if they wanted fantasy they should have just stuck…
Agreed especially younger viewers, I stop my children watching things by both the rating and by my own attitudes whilst understanding that I cannot control what they view outside of my influence. I always try to explain why I think they shouldn't watch it. I hope that they at least they take away the idea you can control what media you consume.
There is also evidence for media affecting the brain chemistry i.e. production of oxytocin. These changes affect…
No my premise is the things you watch affect how you behave regardless of whether you know it is fiction or fact. Hentai cannot be argued as to whether it is fictional, it's animation after all, but it is still pornography. Equally the experiment on oxytocin used animation to produce the effect. I think rather than always expecting fantasy to reflect reality 100%, we need to focus on teaching society how…
You can know the difference between fact and fiction but that doesn't mean that fiction won't change how you respond to fact. For example: "The review found evidence of an association between pornography and an increased likelihood of committing both verbal and physical acts of aggression, with a significantly stronger correlation with the use of violent pornography. Use of violent pornography and prior exposure to parental spousal abuse were the two strongest predictors of a first sexually violent act. The use of violent and degrading pornography was also found to be significantly associated with reduced self-reported willingness to intervene in a potential act of sexual violence" From - The relationship between pornography use and harmful sexual attitudes and behaviours, A literature review prepared by The Behavioural Architects (Joanne Upton, Alya Hazell, Rachel Abbott and Kate Pilling) for the Government Equalities Office https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/976730/The_Relationship_between_Pornography_use_and_Harmful_Sexual_Attitudes_and_Behaviours-_literature_review_v1.pdf
If it was Black(Red, Yellow) Face everyone would be complaining but it's OK for a Neuro Typical person to pretend (for pathos and laughs)? - I think I get what you are saying and genuinely hadn't thought of it like that.
Excellent review! So many 'fluffy' romances coming out of China which are actually quite disturbing when looked at with an eye to reality. I'm especially creeped out by the small girl, tall man dynamic which just seems to involve being loomed over and having your space invaded - if it wasn't in a 'romance' it'd be called bullying and intimidation.
I quite enjoyed the first couple of episodes - the useless rich boy trashing everything was fun and Zhao Lu Si is as watchable as ever but my interest started waning quite quickly. The ML kept doing creepy things which made me dislike him as well as wooden acting and tropey set pieces. The logic/continuity is more than a little off as well making you feel as if you're watching short episodes loosely strung together. On hold for now.
