●HOW I CAME TO IT
honestly speaking I was intrigued by the beauty of the poster and then the story so here I am writing the review after completing this drama.

●PLOT VIEW
We have all heard tales of mermaid in our childhood, and seen dramas also comprising of mermaid but this one drama took a different step and displayed a merman.
The story was written well with a new concept of a divine pearl in the human world with hilarious elements comprising in the lives of leads during cohabitation. Then there is a bad man who wants to steal the pearl from the merman. Everything was going on smoothly, but there was too much stretch on the events with unnecessary scenes and annoying character. And the end which is unsatisfying and feels like a cliffhanger. WHY? Why did the writers did that.

Ok I found that there is a season 2 for it but then its not about the further story but serves as a prequel. The review also says that the end is same so I dropped the idea of watching season 2. I actually thought that they will be happily ever after, whats the point of season 2, I feel writers should write another season for an explanation to the ending.
so in episode 6, the story goes into some ancient era and I felt like I dropping but I continued. you can skip episode 6, it feels like a part of season 2.

if you have watched Legend of the Blue Sea, while the show begins the opening track will get the feeling of LOTBS as the images are really similar. but don't confuse it with the story. LOTBS deals with a family of ML, but here it is solely about the spiritual pearl.

●ACTING
Bea Hayden as Shen Luo is very energetic and adorable. she is a girl with a friendly personality, helps everyone, and thus is loved by everyone. Bea portrayed the character amazingly well. her slender body and silky hair fit looked wow and
Feng Shaofeng as Wu Julan is a merman, prince of the mermaid is handsome. acting is good but in some scenes he seemed dazed with no eye contact to the other actors.

●APPRECIATION/CRITICISM
the CGI is visually appealing but when the actors are in close-up shots it seems weird and unnatural. when the Shen Luo and Wu Julan went to deep sea, there were fishes but it could be differentiated that they are in a swimming pool and deep-sea creatures are nowhere around them. this scene could have been done more appropriately.
Music is fine but not something staying in the memory.

●REWATCH
I wont rewatch this except for a few good scenes between the leads.
I recommend it to those who like interspecies romance but caution you might end up disappointed with the ending.
