oh yes every character has their own roles and they are very excellent and I applaud the concubine's acting she is a hateful person but then she is very good at it. Everyone did their role so well so don't get them confused lol. It is basically about Minglan's family so the drama revolves around her and her family. It is mostly about family affairs so its a slow thing (spoiler she did not get married til ep 40) but I believe if you can follow along the drama, you will definitely enjoy it as much as most ppl including me ^^ and esp if you're curious as to how back in the days how they live, this is exactly how they live. I was interested in Chinese culture so I find it interesting. Women were never allow to meet a man and everything are decided by their father and they must marry ppl whom's status matches theirs that's why you will see ZYL's mom detested Minglan's family so much cuz they were a class lower. So its all about social status, concubines, big madam etc... learned a lot from that drama

There are anxiety and angst ur going to build up watching it and when the revenge came, you’re going to feel so so so much better even rooting and cheering for it. Minglan is a smart girl and everything she does has a reason for it. Definitely a must watch i recommend it. There are a lot of characters so… do list it down as u go or u may get confused lol

yup, considering the amt of ppl watching and rating it far surpasses the above mentioned dramas I think maybe 20-30k are antis if u scroll and read the comments on douban, you will see em but that's a waste of time. The dramas definitely deserve more than 7.2 tbh
Watched in Tencent/WeTV and the quality was awesome there definitely give it a try but to watch it, you may need to subscribe. My tv has wetv so watching it on my tv the quality is very good in wetv definitely a recommendation vs YouTube etc. This is just my own personal preferences.

Let's be honest... ya'll trust douban rating? this drama is rated on 7.2/10 while war of faith is 7.8, In Blossom is 5.5, and lastly Burning Flames is 6.3... Shenli deserves a higher rating!!! To me Douban is full of antis that loves to rate dramas as a 1 star and never even watch anything and wrote something stupidly negative just so their review can be published in order to rate.

To me Shenli definitely deserve a higher rating. The bgm, story, acting, production wise everything was good and superbly made except the filter for me she already has nice skin she doesn't need that filter with her super nice skin and with filter that's not needed makes her look even more flawless to the point some ppl complained and even slandered that she is so old that she needs filter which really upsets me. On her live, u can clearly see she looks even better than the drama!
