I think you have forgotten she was once stepped on in the past her goal right now is to reach the top regardless,…
I don't care about judging, it's a character! I take the character as it is, at this point of the drama. And I know there is then a developpement. BTW I watched episode 2 now. I don't need to watch 3 more episodes. What's fun is to write while I'm watching it and have fun with the characters. And bad characters are spicy and fun.
3:25 in episode 2. I dislike that. We see a character, there is a flashback but it's another character into it…
More flashback like that. And at the end of episode, I understand now. Kim Dong Gu is Gong Chan. There isn't a big age gap, so why their faces are so different? Why Soo Jae don't recognize him? Or he did a plastic surgery???
She spits in the sink and then doesn't like children! She cheats to teach, steals the other teacher's class, then says she won't even teach. Just throws a big law book and leaves. Shame!!! ahaha, this arrogant FL won't end making me laugh. There is definitely a huge avenue for development!
3:25 in episode 2. I dislike that. We see a character, there is a flashback but it's another character into it (and the other isn't here). Then come back to present on the first. It's confusing. I needed to rewatch to catch that, and it rely on a single line "what brother" (with bad translation, should be Oppa). Then, we get a clue Na Jung's oppa (boyfriend) could be Gong Chan. It's why he is linked to the other guy, her Oppa (family), in jail because probably falsely accusated of murder on Na Jung.
It really is very good! His name is Vicent here I leave the link so you can listen to ithttps://youtu.be/Pm8xWrrb-I0
It reminds me a song from "Love story in Harvard", a drama in Law University too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHzx7zwRbPg Some of the harmony/melody lines are very close.
The FL is quite bad. Gosh, she slap this young guy for no reason except that she just wants to unload her nerves. I can imagine she could be a crazy professor in a kind of crossover with Law School. I'm a bit curious to see episode 2 because that. But a bad professor too. She makes all the class wait one hour, 30 seconds to write something on the board then leaves! She makes no effort and act like she was the mega star. Of course, "by chance", the young fisherman is there. The guy have a nice face but something a bit weird, like he was an alien.
Well I actually just watched the first episode; pretty dramatic lol.Speaking of which, why do Korean dramas that…
Last years, kdramas use a lot of aesthetic tricks. Older dramas focused more on the story than abstract themes. I prefer this because the theme is less cerebral/visible and more visceral/discrete. And it don't loose time on slow thematic scenes.
The credits of the drama, although short, reveal a lot. Yoon Gyeom embraces Ra El. A shot on withered roses. He kisses her on the neck and we see a finger pricking on a rose thorn. I would say a man's hand so his (it doesn't look like the actress' hand). Then the roses on Ra El's tattoo are colored red.
This gives the idea that Ra El is dead inside (withered rose), bloodthirsty. She drinks the blood of the man who pricks himself and is reborn to life (colored tattoo). This can be interpreted in two ways (and perhaps both at the same time). To satisfy her revenge (to get blood) is what she needs to be reborn internally. But since it is a erroneous psychological process, the explanation would also be: Yoon Gyeom pricks himself to give her his blood and she regains a taste for life, beyond revenge. In this case, the relationship between the two characters will be deeper than expected. And so, the story makes us believe at first that he is only a tool for her. But this could change.
As it is a very general symbolism, it can refer to many things, depending on the author (what the author wants to say consciously, and what the author says involuntarily and unconsciously through deep psychological contents). Rose, red, blood, to be bled, kiss in the neck: passion, obsession. To prick oneself and to bleed, a kind of inversion of Sleeping Beauty (here, it is the man and the opposite effect, the prick wakes him up). Blood: vitality, transfer of vital energy. It remains to be seen why the heroine got a tattoo of roses, perhaps this will be shown later.
Episode 1 (31:50): Ra El sees the two villains of the story. It upsets her so much that she grips the railing so hard that she cuts herself. And she bleeds! Clear idea that these two men are hurting her, and are responsible for her "withered" state, for her deprivation of positive emotional life energy. Making her now a cold and poisonous beauty. Further, here in real, she hurt herself. As if her inner state is her own choice too, to remains obsessionnal on hate and revenge, instead to heal.

A bit of symbolism or metaphors. The rose as a pretty woman, but with thorns and therefore dangerous. You can be pricked and bleed when you touch her. Think also about the petals like the many parts of the FL revenge plan falling and dispatching.
I think...everyone in this show needs therapy. But the Han patriarch also needs jail time and an indefinite sentence…
Part of the fun is to watch messed up people here, but it's not possible to identify to anyone. It needs to have a good step back to enjoy this. Now you say it, it's could be the weakness of the show, it's indeed a bit slow sometimes.
EVE plays on the "shock" with sex & blood but that doesn't make the story. I'm not sure I will watch that on-air. The problem is there are others dramas I would watch on-air, and I won't have time for all.
These people aren't really offended, it's more they want to unleash their frustration on anyone. They live in a mental prison where thoughts are mostly a serie of conditionned patterns. They don't even target real world problems, they just buzz on internet and choose normal or healty people as target (able of free mind and spontaneity, the key to be creative). They would like everybody think like them so nobody can see how mad and soulless they became. One does not need to be a psychologist to understand this, just to have suffered from this kind of situation and to have broken free from it. Of course, it's very useful to understand human nature and psyche when you write stories. ;-)
Thank to your review, I feel like I don't need to write one. Upvoted more than once if I could! I just posted a last post on this blog as a conclusion: https://bitchesoverdramas.com/2022/05/13/again-my-life-eps-11-12-open-thread/#comments Only thing I could add: anything the hero made in the drama was useless or even leading to a worst situation. All the remaining vilains are free and under control of the next vilain. The kind more disastrous for korea than the previous one.
Easy to watch without complication, but complicated and difficult to write. The writer take risks, about the mixed…
Yeah, I call that "correlations", but the exact term should be "Callback".
The script also have a lot of payoff, and some difficult to do. True inspiration! Example : the fan of the General Choi used again in episode 14, to make the comedy situation "GSH can't say thank you to CCW". It's the kind of idea that make me think the writer have a precise structure of the story before to write. And it needs the lampshade in the writer mind to light, to get that. One idea after the other, or maybe both together. So choose to use a luminous fan at the start of the drama, because it will be used at the end. Chicken and egg about what come first. All is clever all the way in this script.
In comedy situation, the writer think about to push the limit or exploit that well. Yumi Cell's writer is fabulous about that too (hundred of sitcom episodes in her experience), Penthouse's writer too.
As a counter example: "So I married an antifan". When I watch that, I can think about tons of way the comedy situations could be made more exciting. Of course, it's a drama I watch with much less pleasure. It's more nice to be surprised and think "oh I didn't see that coming".

It looks like Yeonsi, but the entrance is not the same:

Else it could be Keimyung University (Deagu) :

The secondary entrance is the same and there is this kind of open amphitheater.

Or it's because of the blurry effect of the light in the shower?!
I was thinking she was in a cocktail.
She has balls on her spine! What is this monstrosity. Is she an alien?!!?
- End Giant.
- Empress Ki.
- Stairway to heavens.
- Sandglass!
