Don't ask me which one I don't remember now just that it was one of the episodes with his father. Looks like father may have something to do with his mother's passing as well. I'm thinking it was an arranged marriage but maybe she had a lover before and she was forced to marry the duke. You know same old filial piety and all that. Probably not realizing she was pregnant. Maybe we will get the whole story later. Peace♥

Yes, the events have to happen anyways. The only thing she can control is the aftermath and the outcome. It's pretty tough to maneuver around trying to get a gentler outcome. Example is her Mother's death. It happened anyways but not the same way. That's why she is avoiding ML even though she likes him. The deadly arrow will get shot. General Ding was ML father figure and he was very close to him He thought everything would be okay only to find him in the ships hold tortured to death. He thought the Emperor had condoned it. He hadn't. General Ding was the Emperor's closest ally and friend. The Emperor is sieged on all sides. Emperor was shocked at the news. The plotters didn't expect the news to reach the Emperor as fast as it did with ML barging in. Did you notice the Empresses reaction? Peace♥
