I don't think SML came back from the past. He's just doing what he was always doing before his family got annihilated and became a eunuch. ML and FL are on to him now. Can he be stopped. In the past SML poisoned the princess and drove a wedge between her and her husband. SML caused all kinds of havoc. Now we are seeing how it was done. The princess has to get over her self in order to move forward. Peace♥

I know it's unfair to treat women the way they do. It's a historical drama and our times have changed. However, maybe take a break from Cdramas. It's obviously a stressor point. Who needs that? Peace♥

Marcus Here is more newsy. Ave X I appreciate, being myself a non Asian. Ave X gives more insight from a Chinese perspective. Now I'm not saying I agree with her all the time but she has given me more discernment. I don't watch very many modern Chinese dramas as I have come across more propaganda in those. Not that there isn't some propaganda in Historical (I don't watch Republican Era dramas for that reason) but in a way it's more fantastical and the stories I find more interesting. ♥

Why compare apples to oranges? In modern day, in socially controlled China, with technology no she wouldn't get away with it. But alas the computer was not invented in ancient times. Old school no DNA testing and fingerprinting. So they decided to let it ride. So should you.♥

Think of the consequences if she fessed up her true identity. Is that what you wanted her to do? Wasn't the original Jiang Li's family in ruins. Would it have helped if she went the Emperor and told him she wasn't the real Jiang Li? FL accomplished what set out to do with the help of ML who had the Emperor's ear. ML knew she wasn't the real Jiang Li, Jiang Li's father knew, and the Emperor knew. FL was a pawn in the game. As a reward she got to carry on with her life. Services rendered. Peace♥

Certain liberties were taken for the Drama script to make it comply with the rules in China. So, they changed certain aspects of the original story. In the drama Jiang Li dies of her injuries sustained by the flogging. Our FL being the righteous person and wanting revenge for Jiang Li and herself embarked on the whole drama to get what she wanted. Jiang Li's father in the end knew she wasn't the real deal. He did feel remorse that he was so betrayed by those around him. Apparently in those times if you deceived the Emperor you and your family would die. So after such a long time and the destruction of his family, by those around him, it was easier just to retire and let thing rest as they were. Our FL accomplished her ends but not without consequences. ♥

I think Wang Xing Yue did a wonderful job considering his age and experience with acting. I believe this is his break out roll. This director brought out his potential as I'm sure his co stars did as well. He did have expression and did it well. I hope he keeps it up. Looking forward to seeing his "character growth" just like in a drama. Peace♥

Avenue X does have insights but I agree she be over the top sometimes. No the drama is not 100% perfect and she will find flaws. She also doesn't like certain actors and how they perform. I do find it interesting some of the things she points out and realize I thought that too. If it's got a good story and keeps me wanting more, to me, it's a good drama. Peace♥

I noticed that too. This ML is not a fav of mine. I know he has a big fan base. It's my preference. I like 'em tall, dark, handsome with a deep voice or a tenor voice. Peace♥
