I really loved "The Untamed," so when I found out that they were making a movie exclusively for Wen Ning and Lan Yuan, I was so hyped. I immediately subscribed to iQIYI when I heard this was released.

Given how great the story and production the drama was, I expected this movie to be the same. I was wrong. Honestly, I have no beef on the actors/actresses or their acting, I just don't like what the producers are doing. Why they decided to diverge from the main story and make Wen Ning a clone of Wei Ying in terms of personality (minus the mischievousness) will always stump me. You could tell that the production budget is extremely low, obviously not in proportion with the drama. The dialogues feel extremely rushed, which I understand because it's a 1:20:00 movie, but I feel like they could have not rushed it and make a tiny bit of a longer movie. Don't even get me started on the editing. The editing is HORRENDOUS. Even my dead great grandparents could do better. I'm convinced they paid some random 10 year old across the street $5 to edit the whole movie, it's THAT bad. Not to mention the obvious green screening. They didn't even try to match the lights and shadows on people with the background, they literally just slapped a GIF as the background and went on with their life. Like come on???? And the music too. Who knew there were rockin' electric guitar solos ~4000 years ago? The movie would have been great if it weren't for these crucial yet overlooked details. Smh.
