I was held to this drama by the acting . The questions are Why did they even break up the 2nd time? She was chasing…
True the guy was an ass, but the girl encouraged him, I understand girls and guys being friends... but the way she acted was strange. Even if the first time it was a misunderstanding, the moment she found out her boy friend is jealous she should have made it a point to be clear with the other guy she has a partner, but the guy found out about him when he saw the "couple shoes" they had, and when the mail lead introduced himself. The girl was encouraging the guy indirectly, did not care about her boyfriend's feelings, and kept accepting to spend more time with him. Why did she go to dinner with him (that was a date)?! Because she is keeping him as aback up, the girl does not love our main guy.
Frustrating show. Two people who love each other deeply, aren’t happy apart nor together. Mostly, they don’t…
I felt like the girl had no consideration for the guy what so ever, she did whatever she wanted and when she wanted without explaining, and that is how she left the first time as well. She took out all her frustration and insecurities on their relationship at first, then she expected him to be the one running after her solving their problems... She was never considered of his feeling, but at the same time she was bad at communication, but she expected the guy to be waiting for her. She is quite a selfish character. All these characters are not bad people but they all have an exaggerated trait that sabotages them.
Am I the only one a bit pissed because of Bai Xue Lu? She single-handedly put in motion a few horrible events all story, innocent people died because of her, yet she did not pay a bit!!! There is no part where she asks for forgiveness, she just plays along with the heroes even if she literally plotted against them many times.
I am confused by the subs. Are they cultivating (using spiritual powers?) or are they using formations and magic? Because depending on that the genre changes... The book was a Xianxia but the series seems to be changed into a Xuanhuan.
And how was he portrayed as a savage now? :))They are just stupid people that are exaggerating because they don't…
Korea ia a homogeneous country (of the same kind; alike.), yes Korea... that does not mean that other countries are represented and are homogeneous lol :)) You must be the same because you assume things about others as well, what you consider "criticism -problematic depictions", I don't in this case, as I don't think it was meant with bad intention. this case was not bad. I also think woke culture is retarded, and a lot of stupid people in general, have a louder voice than the people that actually communicate and listen. Also I have a feeling that a lot of people are offended for other people, I just feel that a lot of Arabs don't feel like Korea's opinion is the main opinion and they are more confident about their image in t he world. No Arab person that I know thinks a k-drama defines them and their culture; the majority of foreigners that I know have their own experience, interaction, and general knowledge, about/with other cultures (countries/people, including Arabs) so they already have their opinion and are not influenced by a fictional depiction. There is no way I would watch this series and think, it's real and it represent a majority, but maybe I am just older and I know how to use my brain, while others let the internet think for them because critical thinking is non existent. Before there was no representation, and foreigners barely had roles in other countries, now Korea is opening up and they are slowly changing, but still "nothing is good", meanwhile USA is reinventing history with lies presented as facts, as literally bean making fun of all other countries, has been racist (while presenting itself as the most open and diverse) but are still getting support and Hollywood is calling its victims racist... that situation is a problem, because it's with intent, this one not intentional (ignorant but not a deliberate attack).
And how was he portrayed as a savage now? :))They are just stupid people that are exaggerating because they don't…
You know this is a fictional prince, right? It's not based on a real prince. He hes a Arabian prince, and his belief is not mebtioned, not all Arabs have tobe muslim. They created an arabian prince that is random, and very non specific. You can be be and Arabian prince without being Muslim because is fiction. Just like I created a human character that spits fire :) The laws or reality are different than the universe one created in fiction. I kept saying in other comments it's not based on reality and it's not a guide line of how Arabs are.
And how was he portrayed as a savage now? :))They are just stupid people that are exaggerating because they don't…
I am calling some stupid, the ones that think that 1 foreigh representation, makes the world look at all in a bad light, and act like the character defines them. When the majority of people don't actualy compare the real thing with a drama character. Also I used the word "people" as I was refering to all that get offended for others and so on. Never thought about only a specific group, culture...
Not exactly, Ren is traumatized and in no way in a normal relationship. He was actually in love with him but tried to be with other guys but he could not, so he forced himself to "take it" but always ended up trowing up and he was never excited if you know what I mean. All this obviously worsened his state and trauma, he was also in a way abandoned in another country without knowing the language, the Japanese guy he met in France was nice, but he was not in love with him so the intimacy between them was not working. Ren was broken in many ways (mentally, emotionally, and physically) for years and his developing years. When they meat again Ren was scared of opening up and he felt like he did not deserve such blessing, he was also kind of afraid of his own reactions towards Kozuma, that is why he accepted in the end to look at him and open up (at least in action, because he never dared to speak and say they were a couple or serious, he was afraid of jinxing it).
He also left because he felt thing were repeating themselves again, with Kozuma's mother. They were 2 under age kids having sex, in a society that is not that open, so it was even more serious because it was 2 boys and one ended up being sick... Ren's trauma is serious.

But it was not negative, that's my point. No other culture saw the character and thought he was bad (there for all arabs are bad). No culture or countrie is made out of saints, so if they like, they can portray good and bad things as well. Can't count how many times Hallywood did the same and worse, they feed the stereotypes and promote the shit out of them, with all cultures! And they are more diverse, promote freedom and acceptance, but somehow manage to be racist and make fun of others. Korea is closed to the world compared to thhe US, they are homogenus and less cultured about the outside, they don't consume foreign media much, I expect some stereotipical depictions, but somehow the US does it more. Ofense is not given is taken.
When most Arabs are actually muslim... no alcohol no touchy touchy... its HARAM and against the religion.
Is the character Muslim? Is he? Are the Arabs that want to buy celebrities as wives, or pay influences to do degrading things for money, drink and are touchy touchy not existent ? Is this character written about someone specific?
The problem is Korean society doesn’t care to actually do any kind of research on any other culture. Producers…
Well Hollywood is the same, actually worse because they tend to promote lies as facts and history... So Korea is not as bad :)) Korea does not do anything different compared to other Asian countries when it comes to depicting foreigners. Also they don't have to cater to international fans, they have a choice and they are not obligated to do so. If you like it you can watch it, if you don't you can not, it's that easy.
Honestly if this was a harmless stereotype most people wouldn't have even cared but korean media has an obsession…
And how was he portrayed as a savage now? :)) They are just stupid people that are exaggerating because they don't have a life :)) Just so you know, it is known that a lot of "rich prince Arabs" try to buy celebrities into marriage, and the media around the world does cover stories and not all of them are Muslim, and well behaved, some drink and are surrounded by many women... and some don't even respect women. This was a character, with nothing specific or based on a real person, people like him exist. So why would this be taken as offensive? People are just sensitive and stupid...
They should do season 4, but the director is right the show was not intended for multiple seasons. It is important to write the next one Season 4) in a dynamic way and to make sure things are not repetitive. The script is the most important, writers have to come up with a new plotline that does not feel static but luckily they have already built interesting characters, and they have Seo Jun a character that has her development a mystery to us. We did not see, so we don't know what she learned and how she developed her skills, she is a good opportunity for the show to add something different. We know that she is daring in her practice and that she has unusual methods sometimes. I would not mind if they would have a few cases in which the staff has to move to different places, I would also think Seo Jun could be someone that developed unusual skills, I would not mind if they would shift perspectives in a few episodes (tell the story from the point of view of a patient, play with the camera). They could diversify the medical fields in their hospital since they got the financial support and the doctors are good, they should not focus only on Er or Trauma cases. They can develop the hospital. Kang Dong Joo said he has big dreams for Doldam and wants to make it one of the best. They can try mystery cases, doctors always say they have seen strange cases or rare cases.
