I read the comments, lol, But, no one needs the novel to see that the dumb Emperor is dumb (although not completely his fault, if we are honest).

Because his grandfather (Grand Tutor) supports the "real" royal bloodline, i.e. Qimin as grandson of the former emperor and wants him on the throne but even he realizes that Qimin would be an awful emperor.

The kid is smarter, he facilitated his own rescue. Bixia can't even find his way out of an awkward conversation. XD
