Maybe I am just cynical. When you sell a drama to a foreign distributor, it would be normal to sell the ENTIRE drama, no additional payment required (distributor pays all 37 eps). But, if only 36 are offered and the buyer isn't that interested, then 36 it is and no clear cut HE. I feel mountain people exaggerate the impact that WOH has, because we were and remain shook, lol. However, people who are not into C-drama or BL will discover WOH with an open ending (I can't take 36 as HE, it was horribly cut) and in no time there will be more of them then us. After all, Netflix is everywhere. Ah, well, we'll see on 28th. I hope I am pleasantly surprised. :)
So, it’s been over a week and no ep. 37 on Amazon Prime. I’m remaining hopeful that Netflix will have it!…
I am afraid that the production is trying to discreetly erase the happy ending. Now that it reaches wider, international audience, it might be a problem internally (in China) and if they don't sell episode 37, then it doesn't exist for the wider audience. No huge chatter online, no problems at home. As far as I know, outside of Youku, only Viki has Episode 37. And on those platforms, the episode is behind the pay wall. Still, it exists. I am happy I have downloaded all the episodes from Youku's YouTube, so I don't have to depend on some streaming service.
The full episode 37 (recap +three important minutes) is on YouTube behind the paywall, but maybe that means they'll release it for free later. We'll see. Just grab the cut version kind people here provided (I already have it) and if it's officially released, good, if not - you have it.
The combination of episode 35 and the second concert broke me. I am glad that the entire crew is happy and enjoying themselves. They all deserve the best in the future since they brought us so much happiness. I don't know how I am going to survive tomorrow though.
The thing I took from today's concert is that entire cast was ready to play and everyone had a great time. That shows WOH had a great set, healthy working environment. Another plus for WOH.
The absolute devastation on Zhou Zishu's face when he sees Wen Kexing's body killed me. And that was just the first thing that killed me in this episode.
A-Xiang crying for her master. Zishu deciding it's not worth living without his zhiji and removing the nails. Ye Baiyi's absolute loneliness. This episode was a doozy. And I hear later episodes are worse, lol. Great, just great.
I was tempted to read that one but the reviews were pretty mixed on it. I was interested to see how ZZS was at…
It's really easy to read and it's short, less than 80 chapters and translation is good. I have less than 20 to go. It's different from Faraway Wanderers, more focused on the political schemes You have to be focused too while reading since there are million characters I like the characters but, yes, be prepared for Zhou Zishu the assassin. In Faraway Wanderers novel and in WOH, you were told what he was (apart from one scene that heavily hinted at it), but you didn't see it. Here it's thrust in your face. I had to take a break. He is not without conscience though, you can see how these actions affect him. It's really interesting; who is to blame for the atrocities? The knife or the one wielding the knife? Is the knife evil or the one wielding the knife. Zhou Zishu isn't the focus of the novel, but one part with him hits really hard. When (If) you read it, you'll know why.
Look for the link under NEWS on the lower left side. It includes subtitles. Enjoy!
However, keeping ep. 37 behind the paywall is still an asshole move, imho.
