This is not about dragging Copper's character - this is about the fact that he supposed to be the protagonist…
They're all supposed to be protagonists. Some more than others. Truth is no character was flesh out like Non, Tan and Tee. And Phi isn't more developed than Jin. What people don't seem to understand is that it was never a story about PhiJin, TeeWhite and the others; it was about Non's hardship and demise and how the guys had a hand in it. I can understand if we point out that a bunch of characters weren't developed enough cause they spend too much time on Non and the bullying, but I don't get why all the criticism is toward Jin specifically. I don't care about what BOC said and how they promoted the series. Once the series airs we should be able to understand what we're watching and let go of whatever promises the production house told us.
Funny how some of you are dragging Copper's character for "being under developed", "not existing" and so on when Fluke, White and Top were the same but I don't see you complaining about them... The level of hate Jin is getting is insane.
I’m honestly surprised that people perceive Episode 11 as a Tee redemption arc. I didn’t see it that way.…
I agree. I didn't see it as a redemption arc cause he did nothing to help Non. Yes, he prevented him for getting killed by his uncle but then what ? He still didn't go to the police, still didn't help Non to escape. He had remorse but was still playing safe by following his uncle's orders. Tee is the dumbest character ever: how come you deliver Non to you criminal uncle and still expect nothing bad to happen ? Please! With this episode we know Tee feels guilty but it doesn't change shit: Non would be alive if he hadn't scheme against him.
I shouldn't have watched this after Back From the Brink and Till the End of the Moon... The pacing was a bit uneven with 12 good episodes, followed by the boring shards arc. Then it picked it up and finished strongly. The Heaven Emperor was a bit cartoonish, like there was no nuance in his thought process. I couldn't care less about his apologies at the end. I liked the main couple (especially the strong FL) cause they really acted like lovers. Overall it was good but I was expecting much better. 8/10.
Finally a good episode. Soga is so cute when in love. I appreciate how he's learning and growing each time. Saeke too but I still don't like him much. He initiated this whole relationship but I find him a bit cold toward Soga. I think that what is missing : the MCs lack chemistry and warmth but I don't know if it's deliberate to show the characters have nothing in common, aren't supposed to be together, of it's just the actors fault...
What an odd watch. Great acting, good storyline but somehow it was boring and unmemorable. I've watched worse series that gave me more emotions. 7.5/10
The storytelling in the first two eps was all over the place. Iam all for flashbacks but this was convoluted.
Agree. The story is interesting and the actors are great but the directing is all over the place, confusing and overdramatic. I hope it'll get better now that we're in the present time.
So we are still on Non being victim argument? He chose to do bad things that made him evil too.
Non made mistakes but he's still a victim. I don't get why you can't understand that. Non being dumb and making mistakes doesn't erase the bullying, the grooming, the beating he received from Tee's uncle and the life of slavery he's apparently living now. You're fighting this point like your life depends on it.
I don't trust Phi. Something was strange this episode. The whole scene where he explained Tan's plan ain't it. He was too calm when Jin confessed about the video and too sweet when he took Jin's hand and promised to protect him. I don't know. I was waiting for him to laugh hysterically and hit Jin with the machete... I wouldn't be surprised if he's the real mastermind behind all this.
