Yesterday I watched Shelter, one of my favorite LGBTQ movies. I knew TES reminded me of something. It was all there: the beach shots and the NC scenes are very similar. I don't want to accuse the director of plagiarism but I don't know what to think about the heavy references to Skam and Shelter...And the fact that he told the actors to watch Skam but not asian bls...
I'm loving this series! JengPat are adorable, I can't get enough of their interaction. Poor Jeng, he's down bad but Pat doesn't understand yet his own feelings and doesn't see Jeng's affection for him. I was sure Jeng was going to tell Pat he's one of his weaknesses! Pat pissed me of today. He's a brat who can't accept advices. Jeng only told him to speak up his mind so people would stop giving him short deadlines. I was glad Jeng told him he needed to control his emotions, but I hope they'll bring the topic back cause Pat needs to learn some life lessons. He's immature and stupid to believe he'll coast throught life easily, with no criticism on his person and his professional competencies.
The work scenes are here to show the characters personalities (Pat's an overanxious brat, Jeng is humble and progessive...), to address important topics such as work/life balance and harassment and mainly to establish the MCs relationship and its progression from boss and subordinate who don't understand each other to coworkers that grow together and eventually fall in love with each other. I love it and I don't find it boring at all. Crazy how people will watch slow series like ITSAY or TMS2 and call them masterpieces but complain when other series offer quality content by setting up nicely the characters background and the romance. Double standards of bl fans are really something.
It can't be playful when one of them feels uncomfortable. Jun told Haram to stop and leave him alone, several times. He felt pressured and didn't want to look bad in front of their coworkers who were insisting they do the love shots and the marriage photos. We have a character explicitly showing discomfort and trying to hide from someone but somehow you're seeing it as him liking the unwanted attention? You can like a series and still see objectively the characters actions for what they are...
So Haram's behaviour is cute ? Stalking and harassment is ok now?Weren't people so turned off by this behaviour they didn't bother to watch SCOY (where the MC didn't even do that much...)? Make it make sense!
I could see past his problematic actions but the story is superficial and juvenile. Who are these guys? What's their background? Why does Haram like Jin? I know they'll reveal this later but they shouldn't have gone straight into inappropriate and unbelievable stuff. Haram is too forceful and acting like a kid. While some scenes are funny, I doubt anyone in their right mind would fall for someone harassing them. Tropey scenes keep coming one after the other with no time for the chemistry to settle.
KhaoFirst's chemistry is amazing. They were even better in this sequel. Knowing their friendship and how they love each other, I think they're not even acting during the emotional scenes. I see KhaoFirst. I loved the skinship! I've never seen a GMMtv series with that many kisses. It's sweet and realistic but also shows that Akk is now comfortable with his sexual orientation. In the prequel, he was uneasy, shy and now he's assertive and all lovey dovey with Aye. This sequel is my favorite with KongpopArthit episode.

I see, I get it. I'm also fed up with gay characters acting like victorian maiden, especially when the characters had previous relationships, as it is implied for Pat.
Ep3 was good! The pacing was better (no overlong scenes) and the comedy and serious parts were well balanced. It was a good call to introduce Jeng's pov now cause usually the focus is on the protagonist while the other MC stays in his mysterious aura until the end. I really liked seeing Jeng question his attitude, accept criticism and decide to improve. I wasn't expecting that, let alone this soon in the story. I stan a smart MC! I love the slow burn. Jeng can't hide his crush: he couldn't keep his eyes off Pat at the party. And Pat's drunk confession was cute but also important cause it confirmed they're aware of their attraction to each other. The only downside is the secondary couple. I'm not interested in them and they have too much screentime. They're not bad but I'm not here for them.

I'm not saying they shouldn't love it but it annoys me when a series is overrated and the fans aren't objective enough to point out its flaws. They're saying TES is the best bl ever made when all I see is a classic story presented in a pretty package. Reminds me of series like ITSAY. Nowaday, viewers equate pretty cinematography with quality. If a series is pretty then it's obviously "amazing, never been done before, setting a high standard" etc... I think I'm too old to follow reviews on plateforms like MDL cause I've been watching and reading LGBTQ+ content for 22 years and what seems fresh and amazing to many viewers is imo a retelling of the same common stories.
7.5/10. This is a fun and sweeet series. Don't expect much cause the plot is angst-free with low stakes. The MCs are adorable, they have chemistry and they're confortable with each other. The NC scene in the finale episode was something else. BankEarth were definitely into it. For such a cute show I wasn't expecting that! I really liked seeing older Songkram & Ai with a kid. I'd rather see this kind of self-explanatory scene that support LGBTQ+ rights than heavy handed discussions like in Cutie Pie... I hope to see Bank & Earth in another project cause they're good together, no awkwardness at all.

How come JoongDunk have so much chemistry offscreen but come out this cringe onscreen?! I really hope they'll do better in Hidden Agenda. It's time for Dunk to go to acting class!! P'Tee needs to push him hard until he shades his awkwardness!
