Actually, it was unfair to Deng Lun because Luo Yunxi was given more exposure than the male lead. They expanded his character so much that they didn't explore Xufeng's character in greater depth. At the time the drama was airing, many fans complained that Luo Yunxi was getting more screen time than Deng Lun. If you look it up, you'll find various explanations as to why his character received more exposure.
Personally, I'd rather keep it as it is because they seemed intent on making Runyu appear more tragic and sympathetic than purely villainous.

We can't deny that Runyu went through so much from childhood. However, he grew up to be manipulative and calculating, even in the smallest ways possible. There are many things he did that might seem insignificant at first, but listen carefully to Jinmi when she confronts him. Pay attention to her words and picture the scenes she is referring to. You'll understand what she means.
I think Xufeng was the most tragic character here.

Glad you like it. AOL is one of those considered 'OG' in xianxia. I came back here from time to time specially if I'm not satisfied with what I watched. Honestly, after watching too many Asian dramas, AOL still on top for me.

He is banned permanently in the entertainment industry in China. If not paying taxes was the real issue and their government change the rules about it, then he might have the chance to comeback. Sadly, that's impossible for now.

There must be reason why he didn’t bother to explain about it. He just shutdown himself from the entertainment aside from he is cancelled there. But who knows what the real story behind it and it appears he accepted the verdict just like that?

Deng Lun has focuses on his business and I think he expanded it and he's also active in some charity events.

I enjoyed FP and In The Name of Blossom 🌸. I learned a lot from here and I admire Yang Zi's character so much.

It's great but yes, it's very painful to watch.

I didn't drop it, but I almost did because I'm not the type to drop a drama once I've started it.
I just finished it, and I feel like something is lacking. There's a depth that I just couldn't connect with. I could feel their love, longing, and willingness to do anything to protect each other and keep their loved one alive, but there were too many plot holes. It's a shame because they could have done so much more with the characters. They literally went in circles for 16 episodes. It could have been so much better.

Maybe one of the reason why I keep the Korean version sleep in my list. I'm intrigued by it's low rating in Korea while the original version was loved by them.

I've been wanting to watch the original first, maybe after, to watch the Korean version to compare. Let's see as I'm currently watching this.

My take on this, you cannot blame her to act and feel that way as he repeatedly told her not to take it the other way, not to expect anything from him and not to get involve in his own affairs especially when it comes to his ex.
