Can't believe just watching this drama in 2021
8 episodes in and I feel this Novel/Drama has a lot of potential...somewhat light, cheesy, and comedic with a hint of mystery; perfect to spend the night away. Feels everyone (so far) are kind hearted and keep everything to themselves which causes of a lot of misunderstanding. Although, One may argue that's what meant to be...FL is my bias type.. a naively sweet girl who matures into a strong and unique character. ML, hopefully, also maturing over time by being around her; feels he has a lot of potential but holding himself back for his brother.
Glad to see that the chemistry between the lead grows (edited) throughout the series; starting off with two strangers who kind of "using" each other to their benefit as a start and slowly (hopefully) fall in love with each other. Setting the chemistry aside, their relationship grows naturally and feels very realistic; they seem to trust and enjoy being with each other.
Added on: The overall storyline is wonderful although I don't enjoy the scene cutting...transitions are choppy and not flowing well in my opinion. Just put a blinder on small details, don't be too critical and I bet you'll enjoy the series.

Cannot seem to stop watching it!
Series is still ongoing and just cannot help to write a prelim. review for those looking for new drama to watch. So far it's been an addiction for me.Story line is pretty easy to follow and typical in my opinion but it's written and developed well. Fell a similar vibe as "The reputable family, The merchant, and General & I" thus if you like those series, you should like this one as well. Characters and their relationship developing throughout the episodes...still not sure where the story will go (maybe I should read the novel too lol) but hopefully won't be one of those with many fillers just to extend the series.
There is a separate discussion about the "harem" but don't let this deter you from watching (I almost drop it myself at first).
Cast are seasoned Actors/Actresses, it feels realistic and very believable up to this point.
Overall, I really like the series and cannot seem to stop watching and waiting for the next episode!

A drama that makes you go きや!きや! (Kya! Kya!)
Be warned! you will be massaging your jaw from grinning ear to ear and/or your significant other may go きや!きや! through the series lol! There were too many flavours on this drama; so far, spicy, sweet, cheesy, bitter, salty, and much more!
After the 8th spoon, I was convinced to write a review lol
The Recipe was fresh, in my opinion, maybe because it's adapted from a novel, very easy to digest and light.
Seeing how it will be 31 episodes; I am just at the surface of it, not sure whether it has other surprises but I'll embrace the journey.
The chemistry was strong between the leads; sometimes, I wonder if they actually dating irl... I can feel a bit of Love O2O from it, maybe because it involves virtual gaming, idolization, and University life...
Some people may like the OST
With its storyline, this drama is perfect for someone that has a long-bad day, or a couple date night :)
having said that, although there maybe some loophole, don't over think it and you will enjoy the series

Who's cutting the onion??!!
Another interesting Japanese drama... it reminds me of bartender (manga), midnight diner series, etc. The genre is a slice of life which everyone has/will experience at some point; this is also the reason why these kind of dramas are very appealing to me.Food & Beverage believed be able to change people's emotion albeit temporary; some may even give a strength to face the difficulty one experience. Although I feel a bar, diner, or a stall would be a better fit as the setting, a bistro may cut it as well. When I was in Japan, I started to realize how some Japanese's pastry was heavily influenced by French thus don't think it's out of context.
Acting is not the selling point, IMO, of this drama; the plot twist, pace of the story, and how close the storyline is to our life are the selling points; overall, the first episode got me hooked. ML is very observant of his customer, not sure if it's a generic trait type of those in a service industry but it is definitely the similar trait in all of those series mentioned. The rest of the crews traits are started to show in this first episode but not fully revealed. If it's the typical J-drama, then normally each crew would have their own reason/history that brought them together as a group.
If you have a delicate heart, have some tissue ready... It's only the "appetizer" but I am really looking forward to the next course...
