Watched the rest of the drama. Perhaps unpopular opinion but I dont like the 2nd part. The bad guy is one layered, plot seems forced (such as suddenly there are no other student or teacher in the university), story become bit bland.. alot of stupidity.. the whole daeil start acting detective until he die also not well executed imo.
I see they trying hard to make kang daniel's character as the hero.. but his acting and character cant make it... when he cant pull the first light bubbly part, it is even worse when they need more emotional acting on the second part. and make the whole experience diminish.
Last scoring for first part was 8.5 But the whole series are 7.5
I like this drama. I watch 10 episode staright and going to finish it today. Most of the cast are solid and I recognize some faces in another show I am watching. But I wouldnt give excuse that Daniel Kang's acting is okay given it is his first time as lead (at least until this point). I think he is the weakling in otherwise solid 9 show.
I started this drama with no expectation. I just finished happiness and look for another drama to watch. MAN. I binged the whole 6 episodes and now I regretted why I started this this early.
PS: Wooshik is really unusual choice for lead actor, but this what makes the drama so relatable. He nailed his role perfectly. I think I will watch all his future project.

you gonna want to scratch female lead up to episode 18. but I think she is fully redeemed by mid 20s and has good character development. so far i am enjoying it and rewatch it. the romance, work and politic is balanced. and I do think all the cast carry the characters and story well and they have good chemistry.
I just finished it. Easily save September/October drama. I don't usually like republican drama, but this is so good. If not for the very rush ending or bad CGI for scenes, I think I will be very satisfied with this drama. I can even ignore how young they look for mid 30? 40? years old character..
I love how they portray the conflict and I love how they connect the scenes and details from earlier episode to the latter part of the drama. The outfit is nice (I just wonder if it is normal for people not change clothes during 1920s). The business part also quite realistic.
I can feel Zhang XinCheng's and Cai WenJing's chemistry. I is a good acting for both of them. I also like the character developments, it flow so naturally. The female lead can be a pain in the first 18 episodes, but she show the greatest character development and totally redeemed (and loved) by the mid 2nd part. The way they tango is so balanced, love them. To think that ZXC is only 25 right now (and even younger when they made this), he is one of best actor for his era and he can do well as long as he can picked a good script in the future.
