ALMOST became one of my favorite kdramas
Tale of the Nine Tailed almost shot up to my list of favorite dramas but the last 3 episodes became so messy I had to withdraw thinking it would make my list.
The ending was especially terrible. I hated how Rang had to sacrifice himself just when he was starting off on a better path. The writers might think they did something but it didn’t really add anything to the story. Instead, it just made the ending sappy and annoying. Then we see Yeon and Ji Ah in the last few minutes of the show happy together as if Rang’s death didn’t mean anything. Don’t get me wrong, I adore the romance between Yeon and Ji Ah but the story just didn’t make sense in the end.
The thing that also frustrates me is how Yeon said he’s now human but then we see him at the very end back with his gumiho eyes like wtf is that??
Anyway, the plot had so much potential but it wasn’t executed well. I feel like the well thought out characters were wasted because of how the storyline was delivered. I’d still say it’s binge-worthy though as it still had a gripping storyline for more than half of the show.
