chaotic and ridiculously good // perfect blend of comedy and historical genre

Surprisingly I enjoyed the series considering the fact that i dislike historical dramas a lot because they are too boring and dark for my liking. The writers did a really good job in mixing chaotic and comedic moments between the characters and also the dark theme of a puppet king and the battle of power between officials. Unlike many other so-called "rom-coms" that are only funny in a few episodes, Mr Queen brought a lot of laughter in every single episodes and it didn't seemed forced or cringe thanks to Shin Hye Sun and Kim Jung Hyun's amazing acting. I was not surprised by how well Kim Jung Hyun fits the role of Cheoljung considering the fact that he's a master in this type of characters but Shin Hye Sun's acting was WOW Having to act as both gentle and a chaotic man stuck in a woman's body, it was very natural which really helped in the comedic aspect. I would highly recommend people to watch this if you are looking for a funny drama with a mixture of an exciting plot!! #TeamNoTouching

Short and thrilling competition for creative logical and number puzzles lovers

I enjoyed the logic and number puzzles here as it was interesting to see how they made simple concepts/ games into a complicated one (e.g. a rock scissors paper game into a game about memorization and object permance). The most interesting part for me was when the participants talk about their approaches, shortcut methods and tricks which makes me gasped at how their brain words like GENIUSES!! And also so that I can use these methods next time if I ever come across puzzles like this LOL (which is probably never). I also appreciated that theres NO games where they had the participants scheming against one another, like a mafia game, or alliances (where the weak participants team up to eliminate the smart ones that we want to see early in the game). As much as how the participants were geniuses, I must commend on how the writer is a genius for creating such creative games (but no surprise because the writer was The Genius's writer).

I am also glad to see how well different teams work together, considering the fact that most of them met each other only through the show. I absolutely loved the dynamic of Team KU and SNU and felt that they have great teamwork.

Overall, I highly recommend this short and binge-able 8 episodes intelligence competition with geniuses competing with one another if you love puzzles and this type of reality shows!

If you are looking for a drama to binge-watch before going back to exam/ work-stress life, go spend your precious time in other dramas instead. Went in with high hopes cuz everyone was talking about how good it was but nope

story:
plot was original and i like the whole concept of this goblin and grim reaper + cinematography was amazing ngl. However. the pacing was too slow for my liking. One scene of Eun Tak looking at the leaves can take about 3 minutes and the age gap between the leads was disturbing (idk abt the rest but def was disturbing to me). Halfway through the drama, i just skipped through the love line of the main leads because it was lengthy and boring and instead, was more interested in the second lead love line - which indeed was loved by many more and they even got their own drama afterwards. Overall, concept is good and unique, but pacing was too slow and there were many small problems in between.

cast: needless to say, cast was amazing in acting. I especially liked SungJae's and Dongwook's acting.

Music: gotta give credit to the music, very suited for the drama and vibes haha

Overall, something i wouldnt want to rewatch again because its too slow and boring for my liking.

psychotic and emotional roller coaster ride drama that is not meant for people with anger issues

AMAZING PLOT, PLOT TWISTS AND ACTING and in my opinion, the best kdrama in 2020
This drama made me cry so much when I sympathised with the characters and made me so mad at ALL (except 2) characters at the same time till the point I want to punch all of them in EVER EPISODE like I got mad at them since episode 2 no joke. I'm quite impatient so it was a risk to watch this drama because i get angry very easily but once you start, there's no way to go back - I don't know how people can drop this drama once they reach episode 2.

Every episode is so intense you can't help but be glued to your seat when watching this and it is so addictive to the point where you can't skip. The acting of the actors are TOP TIER LEVEL especially the main 3 female characters - Lee Ji Ah, Eugene and Kim So Yeon. I get goosebumps everytime they act especially when Kim So Yeon's character goes crazy like its soooooo good. the supporting characters like even the teenagers in the show have such good acting skills

This drama is amazing, crazy and intense. People who aren't watching this are MISSING OUT BIG TIME

a must watch!!

A light-hearted and inspiring drama. The plot did not catch my attention at all because it sounded like a typical drama but boy i was wrong... i like the balance of the drama, good pacing and character and romance development between not only the leads but supporting leads too. The main leads also look super good together, so aesthetically appealing HAHAHA Other than the good love line, I like how the drama still brings its focus on conveying its message of not giving up and pursuing your dreams.

OST is also really good!! Overall, this drama gives me a "Sassy Go Go/Cheer Up" (kdrama) vibe. Please give this drama a chance and try the first 3 episodes, im sure youll get hooked on!!

Story: The first half of the drama was engaging and got me interested to continue watching but after they got together, it felt super draggy and everything just became so boring for me i skipped through so many parts. However, I still like the concept of the story, its quite cute ngl, wouldve been better if it didnt feel like it was going downhill with the episodes.

Acting: oh my god it was so awkward watching them act, the male lead only has that one expression the whole time..

Music: Theme song is one of my favourite chinese songs so i have to give credit to that

Overall: Popular drama but doesn't live up to expectations the more you watch it

its not as bad as everyone says it is

The top few reviews are rating this drama so low with many of them being less than 5? Tbh, i dont think this drama was THAT bad. I shall start off with the things that i liked about the drama.

I loved the concept of business and startup as the main theme of the drama especially during the first few episodes in samsan tech. It was quite fresh and interesting. The bromance between the samsan tech brothers was one of the few things that carried this drama - the bond between the 3 of them was really cute and i cant help but not skip all their scenes and probably repeat them cuz they're funny af. The actors and actresses also did their characters justice, especially Kim Seon Ho (SML) with Han JiPyeong (hence his soaring popularity now). He really brought out the emotions of HJP accurately and stole the show even as a second-lead. I love the scenes of him and haemolni and cry almost every time they are together LOL. I'm so glad they casted Kim Seon Ho for this, hes such an amazing actor and im glad hes gaining international recognition for his acting skills. Another actress that I would like to compliment is Kang Han Na (SFL) but I will save this up for the later part. Suzy and NJH (leads) were also very natural in their acting, but I think everyone kinda knows that so I'll move on. Other than the main leads, I thought the acting of everyone else like the side characters were also really good, hence the 10 for acting. I really love the OST for this drama too, probably one of my fav drama OSTs.

Now for the reasons why I did not rate this drama any higher than 7. Startup was very popular during the first few episodes both domestically and internationally because many people enjoyed it but it just went downhill especially after the competition. The drama focussed WAY TOO MUCH on the love triangle that they forgot about the business concept and neglected their other main lead - In Jae (Kang Hanna) who was not part of the triangle. I lowkey really liked In Jae's character as an independent woman who's capable af but they unknowingly downgraded her to an unfortunate cameo scene as the woman who stares at the girl on the swing in every episode and i thought it was a huge waste on the character. They could have ended the love triangle earlier and used the time to develop more on her character instead. Furthermore, this drama has probably one of the WORST time skips ever. 3 years passed but no one changed and some people are suddenly on good terms with literally no explanation at all?????? I was waiting for the explanation but till the last episode there were no flashbacks or whatsoever, it was as if the writer had no time to write all these in and decided to just give up a potential area to develop the relationship between the characters. The worst part of this show was the lack in character development of the FL and ML. Nam Do-san only became richer after the 3 years but was equally immature as before which annoyed me a lot. Dal Mi downgraded from an independent woman to a woman who needs her man to agree with her before she makes a decision - literally every time she has t make a decision, the professionals will say no and her other co-workers will say no but because her man says "go for it i believe in us" then boom she does it which is so unrealistic in real life and paints the wrong message to the viewers?

Overall, if you are looking for a light hearted drama with serious second-lead syndrome, you can consider this i guess but would suggest you to spend this time on other drama instead HAHAH. Though there were many plot holes in this drama, I loved the vibe of the drama and the friendships between the characters. While considering the negative aspects of the drama, i had to consider the times this drama made me happy and hence nothing less or more than 7.

a wuxia drama that EVERYONE HAS TO WATCH

You know that feeling after completing a show and one of your first thoughts are "Wow, it'll take a long time to find a drama like this again."? This was what I felt after watching MLC.

As someone who loves whodunit shows, I liked how they incorporated about 8-10 different mysteries in these 39 episodes while linking all of them for the overall story. The chemistry between the 3 male leads were also great and their personalities were all so extremely different but ironically complemented each other well. The pacing of the story was also to my liking. I can't exactly point out how and why, but it reminded me of the drama "the Untamed" - the vibes at least. The story continuously moves, so there's no filler episodes and the drama had me SEATED. I think what made me rate this drama a 10 instead of a 9.5 was the final plot twists in the last few episodes which had me gasping.

Overall, this drama is easy to watch and very suitable for wuxia and bromance shows lovers to watch!
p.s. the women in this drama are all SOOOO GORGEOUS

inspiring youth drama that brings joy to your life

This drama has been my all time favourite kdrama ever since it aired and i'm only writing this review now after rewatching because its been a few years since i watched it again.

This short 12 episode drama that should've been 16 episodes in the first place contains every emotions and hardships that students will face. Despite the hardships these characters faced, the drama was skillful in bringing out its message of how one's words and actions can literally change the life of others and the importance of friendship. It brings a light of hope in this cruel world. Most youth dramas only focusses on the bullying or the love line but this drama is different in the way that it not only has these two themes (and is well-executed), it strongly emphasised on passion and friendships which makes me extremely happy whenever I watch this drama. Sure there were scenes when I cried when I sympathised with the "villian", but the comfort the other characters gave to the one in pain touched me more.

This drama is easy too watch in the way that it is super light hearted and a short 12 episode drama to binge-watch. 100% highly recommended to watch. The reason I only rewatched this drama after 5 years despite it being my fav kdrama all-time was because the post-drama depression was so strong that I didn't dare to part with it again because no other drama makes me feel this happy and I know it would be some time before I find a gem like this again.

underrated masterpiece

this drama is AMAZING like the only word to describe it is "masterpiece".

Being a 5-episode short thai BL drama and this being the first thai and BL drama i've watched, i didn't expect much going into it but i was hooked immediately after just watching the first episode. i loved the vibes and cinematography of the drama- it almost felt like i have just finished watching a whole movie. I also loved how most of the important scenes from the leads involved no talking, - just eye contact, actions and feelings, making these scenes perfect and allow the viewers to feel the emotions the writers and director are trying to portray. BK and PP also did great in portraying the emotions of their characters especially the part when they were just trying to find their identity.

I wished this drama had hit bigger and gain even more international recognition because this was an Oscar-worthy drama legit. If you are still deciding whether to watch this, please don't hesitate its only just 5 episodes and i guarantee that you won't regret. The trailer is already of a enough reason for you to watch it.

A reflection for those in their 20s-30s, a story to look back on for those in their 30s-40s

I went in to this drama thinking it was a romcom based on the trailer & poster. However, I finished the drama shedding tears over grievance, familial love, friendship, reminiscing our youth and the reality of life. The love in "Love Endures" covered every aspecst of love there is in a bittersweet manner where I was moved to tears. The smooth transitions betwene the past and present makes the viewers enjoy the moment but snaps the viewers back into reality, making many of these episodes comedic but sad at the same time. I felt that the storyline had great pacing and each of the underlying stories blended well with one another.

This drama also made me reflect on my life. I am in my 20s and feel that this drama hits home to me with how friends that I have seen everyday become friends that I see only once in 6 months. It made me really reminisce my schooling days when I yearned to grow up, which became ironic because now I want to become young again. I could also strongly relate to Ying Zi's love for her friends and really admire the dynamics in the friend group.

Acting: Yang Zi absolutely killed it again with another emotional drama. I watched this for her so there was no surprise on how well she did. She is very natural (especially in the past timeline, but I think this is also partly due to past Ying Zi's (YZ) personality being similar to Yang Zi herself irl) and her emotions transits through the screen. On the other hand, I felt that Fan Chengcheng's acting could have been better but I think this is his first few dramas so I believe there's always space for improvement. It's just that it was kind of wasted in a sense that I could not feel the lovers-chemistry between Ying Zi (YZ) and Jiang Yi (FCC) when they started dating. But that could have just been me and also, the story was just too good and there were more in the drama to focus on, so this is a small issue.

Overall, this was a drama that would be on my top 3 cdramas to recommend to people who have only watched cliche idol cdramas and are looking for a slightly more serious drama that encapsulates all the emotions and feelings one could feel over the years of growing up, especially those in their 20s-30s. This was a self-reflection, at least for me.

if you are here, you are probably wondering whether to watch or not - i'm here to tell you YES OR YOU'LL REGRET!!
Literally the best chinese drama ive ever watched and its no surprise when it is named as one of the best taiwanese drama for past few years. This drama is an artwork and heres why:

Story:
I've never seen a drama so well-balanced before - pacing, character development, and plot. For a 13 episodes drama which talks about time-travelling and mystery solving, I was expecting it to be rushed but I was wrong, every episode has its very own meaning, either to give us a background of the leads or bringing us to 1999/2019. Every episode seems well-paced, skip one part and you'll miss something essential. Furthermore, I absolutely love the character and relationship development in this drama. In Episode 1, you can fully understand how much the female lead is in love and later on in the drama, the writers also dedicate 1.5 episodes to show how much sacrifices the male lead made and how much he loves her, so it actually emotionally connects the audience with the relationship of the leads and its stunning how well this is done because its not boring at all. On top of the couple relationship, they also focus really well on conveying the strong friendship between the two male leads from the start to the end. (we can't help but envy their friendship)

The writers are also skillful in terms of tying the series of events in 1999 and 2019, so when the female lead travels through time and back, it all seems natural and not abrupt and is filmed very well. I like how unlike normal time-traveling drama where the lead gets stuck in the past, this drama brings the lead back and froth from past and present so it gets more intense, building up to the already exciting mystery plot.

Cast:
Acting is great no doubt, especially the female actor portraying both the female lead character. Both characters are polar opposite, yet she portrays the characters' personality really well . AND the male leads are super cute HAHHAH

Music:
THE MAIN THEME SONG IS MY FAVOURITE CHINESE SONG FKJQWRWLASL its so beautiful NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE HOW MUCH I LOVE THE SONG 想见你想见你想见你 i liked the song before watching the drama and after watching the drama, i love it more because the song will SPEAK to you becuase of the meaning behind the lyrics. The other OSTs such as Shi Shi's Someday or One day and Wu Bai's Last Dance are also very soothing to the ear and listening to these 3 songs at once makes me feel like im at heaven or something and makes me miss the drama more :(

Felt the angst and longing through the screen

The show really had me at the first half when we went through the school lives with the leads where scenes were heartwarming and cheerful. As someone who doesn't really enjoy an entire high school series, I was ready to drop it... until the second half came and they focussed on the time-travelling aspect. The second-half episodes were all very tear jerking and I shed tears EVERY SINGLE EPISODE for the last 8 eps. I truly felt the longing that both leads felt for each other that it makes my heart ache. Overall, I felt that the first half of the drama was a typical school drama with a few aspects of mystery as it slowly unfolds the truth behind zhang wansen's accident. The second-half felt more emotional, similar to what "Someday or One Day" felt to me but slightly more toned down.

- Story: Pace was great and it helps that there's only 24 30mins-45mins episodes. I also liked how smoothly they transition between the present and future. Every single episode had its purpose and there were no filler episodes in my opinion.
- Acting: The leads' chemistry was great but felt that the second lead couple didn't have chemistry and had slightly awkward acting but it didn't bother me that much since I usually skip their scenes LOL
- Music: 10/10 for me! The music fits the scenes very well and the meaning of the songs are also very accurate to the scenes. Super touching.

Recommended if you are looking for a light-hearted but emotional drama (ironic but it's really a mixture of both as explained above HAHHA)

draggy and too many flashbacks and unnecessary scenes

i liked the plot and the presence of so many personalities which enriched the plot. The acting from the main cast was also really good especially Jisung who was able to portray 7 different personalities and could switch between them immediately which was done crazily good.

However, I didn't like the fact that the drama was so slow and had SOOOO many flashback scenes as if the audience haven't saw these scenes more than twice already. Without these scenes, this drama could've been cut down to a 16 episode drama (but back then these kind of rich plot dramas are usually 20 episodes so maybe they had no choice lol). I was watching the whole drama at 2x speed but felt as if it was going at 1x. I also didn't really like how they tried to make Park Seo Joon's character be in love with her own sister (ik they are not blood-related but it was lowkey like incest considering how long they've spent their time together since they were children).

Stayed for Oh Ri On and Ahn Yo Na scenes LOL they were gold

Cute fluffy drama with a boring plot but amazing chemistry between leads

Would recommend for a rom-com lover who doesnt put plot as priority

Plot:
I personally thought the plot was rather boring and i didnt have the urge to continue watching the drama esp between eps 20-28 but before and after that it was pretty cute and intense respectively. However, I liked how the drama gave the other characters enough time to show their story and it did not felt rushed at all.

Acting & OST:
THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THE LEADS IS THE MAIN SELLING POINT OF THIS DRAMA if they cast any other 2 leads i would probably have ditched this drama. THEY ARE SOOOOOOOOO CUTE i cant describe it you just have to watch to find out (im a sucker for cute scenes from rom-coms). I also really liked the acting of the 2nd male lead - Du Lei. The OSTs are also really good and non-reptitive.

Overall: If i had a chance to watch this again, I probably wouldn't have watched it and spend the 20+ hours on another drama instead with more exciting plot. But if you are a huge fan of rom-coms, you should probably give this drama a chance.
