its because originally the romance was supposed to be a side plot not the main plot (according to the novel) but i think they changed it a bit in the drama which i think they made it into slow-burn romance instead (correct me if im wrong)

while i respect your opinion, i dont think zhuang xu and xiguang should ended up together cause from what im seeing, zhuang xu wouldve ended up like xiguang's dad ngl. i think its best for zhuang xu not to end up with anyone so he can basically self-heal first or love himself more

spoiler alert: they dont turn bad later on but there will be a scene at the start of the drama where xiguang got accused of taking a company call on be half of rong and trying to 'steal" ye rong position (which is not true btw but you will see later on) and you would see none of her uni friends except xiaofeng defended xiguang even the sml didnt even defend her too (siliang was lowkey a snake at the start too)

no real he even said it himself when jiang mu told him about her and not letting her know about all of this is hurting both of them

omg stop she annoyed me too 😭 i swear i think out of all the characters, shes the most dumbest one and fr the emperor went from supporting the couple to going against the couple out of nowhere like how did he allow he yan disguised as a man to go military but not allow the couple to get married? this doesn’t make sense

same yanhe was a better character than that mf chu xiao like he didn’t deserve to have that ending plus i kinda don’t like emperor either cause how tf did the emperor managed to get manipulated by chu xiao that easily? 😭😭
