I am pleasantly surprised! I swear the twist at EP 2, I didn't see it coming. Like Sumiura I was oblivious to…
Haha actually same here! I knew a little bit about the plot already so I knew that AE and Enaga were the same person, but I had to do a double take to determine if it was the same actor. That wig is truly horrible LOL
I really don't understand the hype for this show, I mean, I just don't get it… unless it's because of Enaga/Ayumu's…
"a small, helpless boy who trips over his own feet falls in love with a handsome, tall man—and that's the driving force and the main reason he keeps going and pursues his dreams."
I guess you could see it that way but you're disregarding a lot of the nuances. Teenage Chiaki was inspired by seeing AE walk the runway (I didn't read it as falling in love) to become a fashion designer. He isn't helpless - we see that he is very skilled at design, he works hard at his day-job, and he's a good cook. However, he hasn't ever really dipped his toes into the 'nightlife' and that's where AE steps in.
AE is Chiaki's bias - he loves and idolizes AE as a fan. It's Enaga who he truly falls in love with. Although Enaga is tall, he is not considered handsome (that wig!! lol) and is also clumsy, and not as skilled in sewing as Chiaki. It's the conflict of his feelings between AE, who Chiaki loves as a fan, and Enaga, who he grows to love after working closely on the project together, which makes the plot so interesting to me.
It's fun reading the comments and seeing so many people enjoy this drama. I watched it back when it was released and it felt like people really slept on it.
This is what I refer people to when they say Pond can't act. He was phenomenal in this, but when he's given cliche, boring characters to play he doesn't really have a chance to shine.
I'll stick with this but I'm worried about Yo being such an unlikeable character. I mean, of course he fits the trope of the spoiled rich misunderstood kid and that's fine. But the show isn't giving us any little glimpses that he has other sides to him. I'd like to see more facets to his character. Although I'm sure there will be character growth throughout the series, so I'm looking forward to that! :)
I was hyped for this show and it hasn't disappointed me! Yes it's a bit campy but I think that is inevitable with the 'vampire romance' genre. It feels like the creators understood the assignment, LOL.
Mark knows that Nakan is close enough to hypnotise Meena, but instead of hunting him down, he's out here huddled…
I'm wondering if it is a vampire politics thing. It seems like Nakan is fairly powerful in the vampire world, so maybe Thara and Mark are hesitant to just outright attack him and start a vampire civil war or something. That would be my guess , but they haven't really explained a lot about how the vampire world works so who knows LOL.
