Under her are the two lead designers from WIJ's company, who due to SDM lack of a college degree, do not really respect her, and their loyalties still lay with WIJ. The two designers believe that SDM only got her position due to nepotism and are a little bit bitter.
As SDM is presenting WIJ with her proposal on an Elsa and Anna corporate presentation, WIJ can't help but subtly smile. It's been there years, and WIJ has tried her best to hide how impressed she has been with SDM. Not because she is doing an outstanding job as CEO of Cheung Damn, but because it appeared that SDM has matured and has learned to forgive. WIJ , no longer sees the petty, jealous SDM, who was constantly trying to compete with her, but rather a strong, independent woman, who was quick to learn, and showed respect to her elder sister. As SDM is typing up an email, WIJ looks at her from the corner of her eyes and smile.
SDM suddenly receives a call.
SDM: Ok you two designers continue working on the driving permit, I have to take this call.
SDM steps out to the hallway, and receives a call from an unknown number.
SDM: Hello? hmmm, you came earlier than I expected. Hmm? Yes, everything is in place. I will see you soon...
WIJ comes out to the hallway,
WIJ: Dalmi come quick, someone has hacked into our servers and installed ransomware. They are asking for 300 Million Won.
SDM: Oh no! we have to call IT security and get this solved.
SDM races around Sandbox "looking" for IT security hoping to remove the ransomware.
All of a sudden NDS, Yong San and Cheul San show up at Cheung Damn offices. The quickly bring out their "convenient" anti-virus software and start tackling the ransomware. Pretty soon, the virus is removed.
SDM applauds SST's heroic rescue, as the two lead designers, ashamed of their lack of skills leave the office. SDM then tells WIJ that since we are missing two designers, why don't we just hire the old SST.
WIJ, fully trusting her sister agrees to it. She watched in admiration as for the first time, SDM came to her rescue, and she feels happy to see such growth in her sister the past three years.
In the epilogue, we the viewers find out, that the yacht scene earlier was all a farce. It was NDS who installed the ransomware in the first place, thus he had the only solution to it. NDS and SDM has been planning for a while on how to steal WIJ's company from her. And first step was getting rid of her old team, and making SST invaluable.
Ep. 13 did nothing to persuade me that SDM is a competent CEO, much less a marketing manager. All she has is good ideas, but has no idea how to accomplish any of them.
Seeing her rise to a CEO position where WIJ is investing 2 Billion Won in her project makes me uneasy. On one hand, the show is forcing us to believe that a dreamer like SDM, who has no execution skills is able to get in such a position without outright nepotism is a sham.
That fast forward feature on Netflix is a God send. Thank you writer-nim!
