On Welcome to Samdal-ri Dec 4, 2023
Despite what other people are saying, I don’t consider yongpil a simp at all. It’s not like he’s miserable and crying over samdal everyday. Yea he thinks about her but mind you they were best friends and lovers for 30 years which is a long time. They were together from babies all the way up to adulthood. Samdal can move on and date other people because that’s her choice. Yongpil stays single because he wants to be. There’s nothing else to it. You can’t force people to fall in love with someone else if the feelings aren’t there lol.

The Ferrari guy is the 2ml who has a one sided crush towards the fl aka we are getting a love triangle. This particular…
Jtbc released all the character descriptions a couple weeks ago. Ferrari guy liked samdal since childhood but never got to confess because of yongpil and also bc he was poor. But now that he’s rich and samdal is single, nothing is standing in his way and he can now start to pursue her. And Ferrari guy is the shown in the longer teaser where he’s driving samdal in his car and holding an umbrella for her. And apparently the sml actor was spotted filming a lot with shin hae sun so yea we can expect an annoying love triangle.

What is the hype of the farrai guy like he's the ML
The Ferrari guy is the 2ml who has a one sided crush towards the fl aka we are getting a love triangle. This particular writer loves to hype up the sml to the point where ppl get bad second lead sydrome. Happened with one of their previous dramas. This storyline didnt need a sml/love triangle but the writer couldn’t help themselves I guess.

I’m going to honest, before the show started, I thought jcw had a good chance of being overshadowed bc he’s playing the good guy main protagonist vs the bad guy antagonist villain. We’ve seen time and time again that villains get more hype and love in these type of stories. People love rooting for the charismatic bad guy especially if they have a sad backstory. This is even more true if the actor playing the villain is hot, sexy charming etc. and we can all agree that whj is all those things lol. since jcw’s character is a cop I thought he was going to get the “ fighting for Justice” or “doing the right thing” character traits. We are at the final haul and boy was I proved wrong. Jcw is absolutely shining in this role. To me he is best part of the show. junmo does not give a shit about “saving the world” or following his duty as a cop. Nah the reason he went undercover is bc he wants to be respected by his in laws and seen worthy to be with his wife by getting a promotion. Not only that but Junmo is a hot charismatic badass himself. He’s the last thing from being a bland or boring protagonist. And jcw’s portrayal of him has been stunning. Even with the little backstory we got of him in the first half, it was jcw’s acting that elevated the character. Imo him as park junmo is even better than his performance in healer 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’m so excited where they going to take junmo. Will he be the worst of evil? Will he get his promotion? Will he still have his wife to go back? Is he gonna die? Hopefully whatever ending we get it’s a satisfying one for his character.

I enjoyed the first episode. The plot went pretty fast imo for a premiere episode but I rather have that than a slow episode. I think whatever happens with the writing it’s going to be the characters/actors that carry the drama. Jcw and kyj have amazing chemistry despite their age gap. The two leads did a great job with their portrayal. I hope we get some good character development.

It's because it hard to see much of the plot, like ok so they both had an cigarette incident, but how does that…
The cigarette incident is important bc that's how they first meet and it sets up the plot but the story doesn't actually start until they meet again 3 years later. MMS's writing and lack of plot is its own problem. Most people agree that there was potential for a really great story if the writer knew what she was doing. But she and the directer fumbled the bag and what we got was a pile of trash. I get being wary of BR bc tbh I am too but it get's annoying when people act like this drama is some sort of sequel to MMS and projecting all the failures of that drama onto this one. They have nothing to do with each other. BR is a slice of life romcom so the plot isn't going to be anything complex. I also hope this drama turns out well bc like you I also love jcw and want him in something great!

Take a shot every time someone mentions Melting me softly in relation to this drama. You’ll die of alcohol poisoning real fast. No but seriously when will people stop holding MMS over JCW’s head? Like we get it that drama was terrible but can we all move on already bc JCW sure has! BR doesn’t even have the same writer or pd and is based on a webtoon so I’m confused as to why this previous drama is constantly being brought up when discussing how BR will turn out?
