Why didn’t you like Plus and Minus? I really appreciate the way you express your thoughts! So genuinely wish…
I loved Plus and Minus too, it was one of my favourite BLs as it aired for similar reasons as in this MTYL: adult working characters solving problems in mature way, plus lovely cameos, great chemistry and fun moments. But the last episodes were draggy and those moments in 10/11 felt totally out of place so they ruined it for me.
This show is a blast! I love how natural everything flows, even the "drama/past/trauma" parts, and how the characters are developing their relationship. Those smiles have me giggle, and the cast is so damn beautiful! Plus, I love having a BL story with characters that are 30 years old! Teenage/university dramas are great too but it feels refreshing to see people to which I can relate more and that are out of the "I still have to understand myself" trope.
My bad: I fell asleep so many times during the first 4 episodes that I think I missed too many details to fully appreciate and understand this story... but still, I liked it and got way too emotional in the last episode. I loved the acting, Meen and especially Rossi did a great job in these roles (also because they didn't really get the chance to show their characters' growth).
The idea was cute (nothing new tho') but it wasn't told in the best of ways... everything was a bit too chaotic and non-linear... I still think the time-plan is a bit off and some things weren't really clear, especially because we didn't know much about the characters (mainly Mon...).
Great sceneries: "postcards from Thailand rural areas" might have been another title for this drama. Nice music, not too much but not too unexistent either.
Anyway... I think I'll rewatch it again in a couple of weeks because I'm still not sure about what actually happened in these 6 episodes. XD
I just noticed this series and I suddently feel so old, realizing I still perfectly remember the original version with Yamapi that aired sixteen years ago... holy... ^^'
This show wasn't perfect, but it's probably my favourite BL ever. It had so many amazing moments, great acting from everyone, great OST, it really hit me and touched deep in so many scenes... it was such a long time since I really came home early from work on friday BECAUSE I HAD TO SEE the episode as soon as it aired since I couldn't stand the wait.
Oh and one thing I forgot: when Kim finds Rain in the barn, he watches his feet and he says: "your leg?" and Rain answers "it's a good price to pay to survive" or something like that. Did Rain lose a leg? But then he runs, kicks people, drives, does karate and walks completely normally...
--Best stuntman for this show goes to the spirit of Robin Hood who overtook Kim's body and started shooting arrows like there was no tomorrow, twirling and rolling thru the woods.
--I think I know Kim's superpower: he's probably the new Hulk since his albino plants magically turned green and he managed to become overpowered even with a brain haemorragy.
--Rain spent 6 months in the hidden bar(n), recovering from the accident and then he had to undergo 6 years of alcohol support since he drank every last bottle...
--Those comets could have as well been meteorites and hit at the right place... ^^'
Reading your review I laughed so hard I cried! XD Which is good, because at least I can say this series gave me something: laughs (aside PP and Noh and random guys' abs here and there).
I'll add the terrible "bloopers" like the ending scene in which you PERFECTLY SEE the rope holding the boat, or the PERFECTLY VISIBLE hidden doorhandle of the not-so-hidden door, or the haircut changing every five minutes and so on.
I want to watch this, but literally only because there's OhmFluke. 16 eps seems like waaay too long for the plot…
Basically nothing happens: there's people playing instruments in weird situations, other people acting rude to one another, other people doing nonsensical things, two hot guys carrying the show by flirting and then getting separated for 5 episodes (and no, I'm not talking about OhmFluke in this one) making the audience angry, and one crazy lady acting as the dumbest antagonist ever. Oh, and it's raining red apples and plastic plants.
Ok, is there even a plot? Because I just can't get enough of Akk/Ayan and Kan/Thua so I can't focus on anything else..... =D
Jokes aside, this episode felt almost perfect, set aside for "the curse" parts. I laughed, cried, jiggled, got emotional, smiled, cried again... what an incredible journey!
I managed to reach the end because I thought/hoped I'd change my mind, but still I couldn't stand Amagi's character. All in all, for me everything (except from him) was cute, fun, light-hearted and somehow nostalgic... I loved Katori and Tanaka and I would have loved to see much more from them. Takara himself was so sweet and cute!
Poor First was shivering cold in that swimming pool scene! His muscles were shivering so much and I'm amazed at how he nontheless pulled an amazing and natural romantic scene.
PS: loving everything, but now I'm really starting to feel huge plotholes here... thankfully we have a cast that catalyzes attention... even tho', if we think that everything is reported from Akk's point of view, those holes somehow feel more reasonable.
......Somehow he looks like a mix of Bright, Ohm Pawat and Taylor Lautner (Twilight's werewolf, sorry for the cinematography but I'm old XD).

I hope it doesn't sink like Plus and Minus.

And THE BLOOPERS!!! Yes!!!
Now we need more FirstKhao. <3

Sigh.

Thanks, God, for inventing the FFWD button.
And thanks Payoo for taking your shirt off.
Sigh. I think MDL should add "comic" and "nonsense" to the list of tags for this so-called story.
