In the drama at episode 9 I think, he said “well see each other, if it’s up to fate, shishilu” after that he said, “no, Yongning Princess” thus already knowing her identity as a princess. He already knew she’s a girl as far as her identity tells him. He spied on her talk with the general and they called her Yongning Princess.

That does make sense. But I’ve been wondering if the FL’s uncle is her biological dad. That would make sense as to why he wants her to be protected and didn’t kill her in the spot.
