Yan Zheng in full protective, barely-contained rage mode—wow. And that scene right after… I replayed it a few times just to watch that single tear slide down ZLH’s very gorgeous face.
I’m enjoying this show so much, but it’s also giving me a good dose of anxiety. Usually, the villains pick one lead to hunt down, but here they’re going after both of them. Double the stress for us. 😅
Just perfect! Excellent acting from all, great plot twists, and even the predictable side plots were executed well. Strong story from start to the end, with good humor thrown in. Ha Yoon Kyung is just so pretty and as expected, Park Shin Hye didn't disappoint. The male leads took a lesser role, it seems in this drama but they added their own flavors.
I did wish that someone did come back in the end though...that would have been more than perfect.
Kang Pil Beom's boss was my favorite character, for sure! His antics and one liners were pure comedy gold but he also pulled off the more emotional scenes as well.
Novel readers - can you please spoil me? I am expecting angst later, but can you share if our couple will stay together strong until Yan Zheng finds out more about Chang Yu's father's involvement with his family's situation?
Episode 9, like the ones before it, really struck a chord with me. The humor was woven naturally into both the everyday slice-of-life moments and the more emotional scenes. The romance is just chef’s kiss, and I especially appreciate the attention to small details—like how Chang Yu gradually became more comfortable leaning on Yan Zheng while they talked, even before things started to heat up. Those little touches make their interactions feel very natural and believable.
Ep 8 was so good - from the comedy gold courtesy of Sun Gongzi to TXW’s excellent acting - you can just see the transition from heartbreak to happiness in her eyes alone. Also I’m glad that Chang Yu found another lady friend who can back her up!
I love that the female lead is an unconventional hero. She’s highly skilled, but she’s neither a general nor a noble, and her backstory is intriguing. The male lead, of course, is excellent in his own right, though he’s dealing with injuries at this point. What I really enjoy is that they feel like true equals in terms of heroism. They both care for and support each other—sometimes secretly—but they always come through for one another in the end.
I also love watching them gradually fall in love, especially from Yan Zheng’s perspective. You can see his growing awareness of his feelings for Chang Yu and the way he’s increasingly drawn to her. Chang Yu, on the other hand, is almost oblivious. She’s simply living in the moment and following her emotions without overthinking them.
I am really impressed by the director - the cinematgraphy in Blossom was excellent and in this show too. The use of lighing, music, and camerawork is just so well done.
Not available on Netflix US :( so had to use a different site. Hope they continue subbing this. First episode seem interesting enough. Usual Thai flavor - a little slapstick humor and dramatic acting.
Finally, another show worth waking up early for! I keep admiring the leads - so gorgeous to look at, and the director certainly knows how to use lighting to highlight their good looks. Best of all, the story is interesting and engaging, and I really like the FL's character. TXW plays her so well!
