Well said! I never thought Zhuang Jie's decision about Shanghai was wrong. I like that the show highlighted that women can also make career choices without feeling pressure from their families about marriage. Her mum may be harsh, but she always supported her daughter's decision and understood why.
I liked the way CMD handled the situation. He gave her space while not giving up on his principles. If she didn't go back to Nanping after 6 months, I think he would have gone to find her.
Like you said, ultimately, they learned to adjust according to each other's lifestyles and ideas. The ending made sense to me,
Overall, I would recommend this show! It is well-done.

That's true. I just get thrown off by the Royal Physician looking about the same age as the queen and younger than the QD.

Yeah, that is a reasonable scenario for sure.

Heartwarming and realistic story. I liked their reconciliation at the end and I got the impression that Zhuang Jie was the one who changed for the better at the end because of our green flag CMD.

I really like the leads’ voices - they add something extra for me.

Maybe. I don’t mind the QD looking older than her lover but even if the King is not the real son, he is supposed to be younger than the grandmother of his children. So it’s a little jarring to see the King older than him.
It’s just a minor point for me.

Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be any more scheduled for 2024. I’m catching up on older ones for now.
Yeah with 40 episodes, it will probably be misunderstandings, repeated break ups and make ups among thr 4 couples.
1.88m is tall especially for Asian men and most FLs are either so petite, at most 1.7 m. Not surprising since the shows know that the audience like to see obvious height difference between the ML and FL 😊

I am savoring this show. Bua and Sean have good chemistry and they are acting well. Up to ep 11 and I am on the fence about who Bua should choose. I still like Dr Cook!

I’m tired of the power-hungry Grandfather trope but at least the Queen stepped up today! Good for the show for not having a stereotypical puppet queen. I still have hope for the Grand Prince - maybe he will play along while helping the Crown Prince.

They should have casted the Royal Physician Choi better. He’s supposed to be older than the Queen Dowager as her Orabeoni but the King, QD’s son and the QD look older than him.

Here for HYT and Liu Chang. After two episodes, I’m enjoying the bromance and hope that the romance don’t overshadow the scenes of the friends. Hopefully the FL would stop crushing on the guy who clearly considers her as a ‘bro’.

Ep 12 was enjoyable. I like seeing the FL using her knowledge and expertise to take down Luo Xue’er . And the romance is getting sweeter.
Prince Yi is the most likely suspect now.

I agree that the FL does not have to feel that she owes the Shen family everything but I can understand her gratitude towards the brother for consistently supporting her.
I think the FL cannot even imagine her "brother" seeing her in a romantic way so she may not have caught on yet.

Same here - I don't like how the actress or the director made the Xue'er character almost like a comic book villain - cackling away, throwing money & jewelry in the air and openly mocking SDQ in public.
She started off being the surprise villain, being sly and evil under a cover of goodness, and that made her more interesting to me

Luo Xue’er is already an irritating villain. Did we really need the Prince? More annoying is that silly maid/spy..
I guess they need to make sure that the general has his enemies as well.
I like how the general looks at SDQ. He’s already in love

He might not be the villain but he will be an obstacle between the leads I guess. I think he will be sacrificed in the end to protect her and to be removed conveniently as a third party.

Ok, now I believe that something’s off with SZS. I’m going to be annoyed with this love triangle.
At least sparks are starting to fly between the general and SDQ. I like how they tease each other.
Side note: I don’t think his wig is that bad. Maybe because I focus more on his face 😂

I’m disappointed that the show would go this route. Yes they are making it seem that the villain is usually the unexpected one but that itself is a cliche and already done with Luo Xue’er.

I think it is a timing thing and some people may have watched ep 10 raw
