Even though romance is not the main theme, I like the way the relationships are developing so organically for all 3 couples. There's no silly lightning-struck "instant fall in love unquestionably".

I much prefer the setup where they got to know each other under various circumstances, spent time together, and started to realize their liking for each other. Allows for many sweet moments!

I think his only other costume drama was Handsome Siblings. I have not watched it yet but you might want to give it a try. Even though HYT could do better, I like him enough that I would watch his dramas.
I think ZJY is a good actress and I find her appearance very likable.

Ah you mean Hi Venus. That was a good watch and I remember thinking that she had her usual resting bit*h face there too but in that particular character, it wasn't too bad :D

No it doesn't ruin the show at all. Like you said, he's somewhat stiff. I was more noticing that he has not improved much despite acting in the different lead roles.

Argh, so much cuteness leading to an ending like that in ep 3!

I have MIL on my watch list too. The female lead Liang Jie is hit or miss with me. Sometimes she can overact in my opinion or like HYT, she has a set sour expression the whole time. Hopefully they can bring out better acting from each other :D

Exactly...since his first main role in A Love So Beautiful in 2017, he has not improved much with his micro-expressions. He's nice looking though and somehow, he always manages to have great chemistry with his female leads.

It is so refreshing to see the family welcoming another girl instead lamenting that it was not a boy

HYT does not have a lot of facial expressions but at least he knows how to move his mouth :D
The lead couple has not disappointed me yet...Their relationship is lovely to watch

The way the leads progressed in their relationship and the reveal of how much the women cared and supported each other in their own ways. Good story writing!
There’s just something so likable about ZJY and I am enjoying her character a lot. HYT is in his usual stoic role but I like this ML .

Cool, thank you! It does sound interesting but I was worried that I was going to see episodes after episodes of the FL being trodden on. I like ZJY so I look forward to seeing her in this role. HYT's acting is typically as you described so no surprise there :D

I am up to ep 15. Can you please spoil for me whether Bai Cai will become stronger soon? I am tired of her whining A Gou A Gou all the time while crawling on the floor

I just started and got to ep 10. It’s a little slow and draggy but I’ll hang in there since I like Allen Ren and Xing Fei! Hoping for a good xianxia!

Managed to finish this after watching 2x speed until ep 6 and then again between ep 11 to 19. Zhou Ye and Lin Yi make a cute couple but their characters were quite annoying during the episodes that I had to FF. I did not find the second couple interesting at all. There were some redeeming humor and when finally together, the leads did have sweet moments.
