this is so well said! We love to see flawed characters in media. not everyone can be a green flag. and even if…
Yes, It looks like people wanted Kanit to be innocent and cute (like he couldn't be someone shameless or needy enough to ask Toto to sleep with him). People seem to think that a pretty, sophisticated princess like him shouldn't stoop that low or something. That's what I think.
I like Kanit because of the way his character is written. It has nothing to do with whether I like the actor or not. Some of you seem to think that if someone likes or defends Kanit, they must automatically be a fan of the actor, and that's simply not true.
Kanit isn't mentally strong, and that's exactly what makes him interesting to me. Sometimes he reminds me of myself—someone who's insecure, struggles to see their own good qualities, and relies too much on other people's opinions for validation. He doesn't love himself enough yet, and I believe that's what his character arc is about: learning to love himself, probably through romance and personal growth.
People like him can end up hurting others because they're hurting themselves. He's constantly been judged, pressured by his family, and emotionally manipulated by his ex-boyfriend into doubting himself. He's also the kind of person who always tries to put everyone else first.
So please don't judge him by your own definition of a perfect green flag or a flawless, pure-hearted character. If that's the kind of character you prefer, that's completely fine—but Kanit simply isn't written to be that person, and that's okay too.
The Korean dialogue is "군인으로서의 대표적인 이력으로는 팔레스타인 공습 계획 3회"…
Ok. I understand now. It's becoming more and more common for K-dramas to be ignorant of other countries, cultures, and religions. Last time I dropped genie make a wish, and now this with Palestine? It's only getting worse.
It's silly and over-the-top at times, but I'll keep watching for the chemistry and the fun. P.S. New is such a visual- drop-dead gorgeous! I can't resist a pretty face. 😍🤩
Another complaint, this is a very loose anime/novel adaptation. But hello, this drama has copyright issues all…
I had the same worries too. We all know how Chinese censorship works, so there was always a chance that we might never get to see this drama at all. 😅
As for the adaptation changes, every adaptation has to change a lot of things to fit the C-drama format, so I can understand why they made certain adjustments. Considering all the copyright issues and delays over the years, I'm honestly just happy it was finally released.
Another common complaint is the dubbing, but that has never really bothered me. I'm not a Chinese speaker anyway, so whether it's dubbed by the actors themselves or by voice actors, I still have to read the subtitles either way. 😂
I think a lot of the complaints from viewers come from the fact that this drama was filmed a few years ago. C-drama productions have changed a lot even within the last few years. Viewers have become spoiled by fancy productions, high-quality costumes, great CGI, and higher overall production standards.
Any drama that has been sitting in storage or stuck in the censorship process for years is likely to face the same reaction: “This looks outdated,” or “The production quality is poor.”
There are still other dramas I've been waiting for, such as *Su Ji*, and I'm sure people will react the same way when they finally air. Personally, I'm just happy this drama was able to be released at all. It's still much better than never being released, right?
Fans of this drama, fans of Kim Woo Bin and Suzy are now dragging down Goblin drama, which has nothing to do with, except from same writer and same genre. They are now hating on Goblin because this one doesn't get the same loves like Goblin.
