Not similar. Both gave me different vibes, only marriage and started living together part is similar. I prefer this one. NLB is listed in top of recommendation list because these two are only historical dramas which Bai Jingting starred as lead role.

I loved new life begins too. This one exceeded my taste so far. Some basic plot might be similar but both dramas give me different vibes. I came to love the actor, of course I wish he would choose a different genre next time such as wuxia or xianxia.
