I read there is extended version that is 30 minute more and have rin plot. In This Corner (and other corners) of The World. Apparently the studio have budget issue so they need to cut some things.

regarding nanobot and the bomb, it's a great twist, only the crew got plot armor like that. you can assume it's a plothole. for the distance, i think the one who take her didn't have insight to travel opposite direction, or the victory crew didnt told him the detail, just "please take kotnim and guard her!".
