Gotta say Xu Kai is the best with comedic expressions. His grimaces make me laugh so hard 😂
When Chenghuan said that Mao and her imagined going to the beach and watch muscle men, his wtf face was hilarious 😂
He should definitely play more roles with comedic flair. His best role so far is still Gu Yan Zhen in "Arsenal Military Academy" for me. He was slaying that role!

I also love his witty lines and his funny expressions in this one. He should totally take more roles like that. Fits him way better than the cold stern CEO type. Here he is a mix of both tho hahaha

Does love at first sight truly exist? I never believed it... until now 😂The first time I saw Xiang Liu was…
I feel you! Now that I watch this video, I'm so yearning to watch S2... even though I know it will break my heart 😭 The OST is sooooo good! Already feeling nostalgic hearing it again.

Xiang Liu is hands down one of the most fascinating characters I've ever come across in dramas. Seriously, in all my years of watching, I think I've never seen a similar character to his. He's got this alluring, otherworldly vibe that just draws you in. And Tan Jianci? He's absolutely killing it! The way he moves, fights, everything about him just screams charisma. And don't even get me started on his voice. Just mesmerizing!

Even his portrayal of Feng Feng Bai is so captivating. He actually plays two different kind of personalities and each of them shines so brightly. How does he make them both so darn enjoyable to watch?

I think the only character I got similar vibes from was Tantai Jin of "Till the End of the Moon". I would love to discover more characters with this ethereal vibe :D

Security bureau is no joke. Everyone was enjoying a cooking show while a massacre unfolds at the same time and place in silent 😲

I couldn't help but chuckle when Prince Xian called for guards and none showed up, only for Gu Yan Xi to step in with, "Allow me, Your Highness... Guards!" lol that was so good!

I really enjoyed ep 28, especially the latter part.

Title Lost You Forever Spoiler
The following character analysis will be based on the novel, using Kaola as well as an AI translation. As we may…
Your take on TSJ perfectly echoes my sentiments about him as a character. I didn't read the novel but reading your comment, it seems he will stay stagnant throughout S2 as well. So I doubt he's gonna change my view of him.

His 'consistent' character (aka no character development) ironically seems to be the main reason XY ends up with him haha 😂 Because of her abandonment issues and the desire for someone solely devoted to her. You mentioned it as well and I wonder if Tong Hua intended it like that or it just turned out that way.

Is that love? Who knows... I don't think so. But I guess it works if both parties settle for it.

But even the "I only live for you" attitude of TSJ is still not seen in S1... He coerced her into making a promise of not falling in love with anyone, so that he can solve his fiancee and family issues, but did he? No. lol
Empty promises like that further define his character.

Of all the four male leads, TSJ is the one I like the least with XY 🙈 I guess that's why romance isn't the main draw for me in watching S2. Thankfully, this drama offers a lot more than just who ends up with XY, so I'm still looking forward to it ❤️🔥

I usually skip the parents' scenes, mainly because of the mom. I doubt she will get any redeeming scenes or character development. I bet they will brush off her behaviour like I'm used to it in Asian dramas.. sigh...

Anyway, but since Yao Zhiming moved into the western styled House, I actually find his scenes with her parents amusing. Especially today when they were at the dinner table trying the food they brought/made lol And dad's drunk talk with Zhiming was also funny. Guess they have a better dynamic and I don't need to skip ALL of the scenes of them hahaha 😂

I love the relationship between the brother and sister. As of now, I almost skip all the mother's scene. I know…
I doubt mom will actually "redeem" herself. Behaviours like this of family members are always overlooked, tolerated and forgiven in most Asian dramas.

She will just be less annoying because they won't have money struggle anymore later on, but that doesn't mean that she had an actual character development.

look at the comments after catching up to the drama since people around here don't know how to hide spoilers
Yeah, it's really annoying, because those aren't even spoilers of already aired episodes, but of trailers of 4 episodes ahead...

If you dont like this drama dont complain much here !!! Just watch sweet candy drama !!
Where did she address the drama as a whole? She specifically mentioned the mom's behavior. This comment section is meant to express one's opinion, so if YOU are only looking for "sweet" comments, you might want to scroll on by.

Am I the only one who absolutely adores Bao Xia? She has such a quirky, straight-forward and easy-going personality and the actress who's playing her is doing such a great job!
I wish to see her in a lead role, because the actress is a natural!

Mom in "Go Ahead" is worst to deal with. It's 100% full on emotional manipulation. The son had no one to count…
Yes, but both moms feel equally horrible and shameless to me. Even tho in different ways. Maybe Go Ahead mom takes the crown, but this one here is not far behind 😂

I really do not want to see FL 's mother to live a rich life 😭😭 ...
Totally! I hate that she will probably get her "character development" due to no need for money anymore lol

The only reason this drama would deserve this kind of rating is because of FL's mom... She makes this drama unbearable to watch. Skip her scenes and this drama is actually pretty good 😂

Never would've thought that there is a mom equally horrible, shameless & good at guilt-tripping as the one in "Go Ahead", but ep 16 is the bottom line for me... not even sure who of them both deserve the crown.

I don't have a problem with C-Dramas displaying moms like that, because for some, those moms are reality. I have a problem with them having no character development and getting away with this kind of horrible behaviour like it's something you have to tolerate and accept, because it's your "Mom".

You can scream "culture difference" all you want, but that is not a mother who genuinely cares for her daughter's well-being. She is disgusting. So no, I don't need to "understand" her, nor do I want to.

Finally caught up on the last 5 episodes after waiting so long for the subs... Despite losing a bit of momentum because of the long wait, I enjoyed this drama overall.
The main couple was incredibly lovely and the blend of two countries, languages and cultures is right up my alley! I’m hoping for more dramas of this kind. That’s why I’m really looking forward to „What Comes after Love“ with a similar culture theme.

... but why? Seriously, why do Japanese dramas always follow the same formulaic ending? They write such lovely characters and believable relationship development, only to conclude with the tired trope of a late-stage breakup followed by a reconciliation in the last 15 mins of the last ep. It became so predictable.

Isn’t it about time J-Dramas try out something different? I don’t mind if that happens from time to time, but it happens ALL THE TIME. Romance
K-Dramas and C-Dramas eventually developed over time, but J-Dramas seem to be stuck with the same formula...

It’s a shame we never get enough time of the couple’s dating era. Especially here I find it a pity, because I absolutely loved them together.

If anyone knows of Japanese romance dramas that break away from this pattern, please send recommendations my way! 😭

Considering to watch this, because the cast looks promising. Putting the whole cheating/romance discussion aside, how is the actual Mystery/Thriller part in this drama? Is it worth watching for it?
