We don't' know don't we...Have you lived with CODA? Have you experienced someone around or close to you with CODA? What you see in TV is not 100% how CODA lives. EG parents almost no one can say they are deaf...but I can understand since this is TV and this is how it should be.... and in very developed countries with care and medical assistance they do live a good balanced life but still very very difficult, but in other countries deafness brings many other problems, deaf people are usually mute as well, not that they choose not to speak, but their capability of speaking is taken as well.
You know how painful it is too see your loved one in such situation? You know how much you want them to hear what you are saying, sure your own suffering is not much than the one actually suffering...but it is extremely painful to see...so if given chance to change that, would you choose not to meddle? Or just experience what the other person experienced and for sake of learning? Well life has many other ways to teach someone a lesson, not necessarily need other pains to equate your life experience...
I would definitely do everything in my power to bring change to my loved ones who suffered with this, if I am given chance.
