Not really. It is not that artistically written (well it is an artist work lol) or has some philosophical dialogues like MLN and Lost, but it does have similarities as it showcase a revenge story with no revenge but the suffering of those who are taking revenge and those on which revenge is being taken.
Lost is outclass in every way, MLN was a different type of drama, it felt really new, also dialogues for that was just beautiful and so easily relatable, but CIL is a typical Korean drama.
As much as I hate HJ, I love the actor as he has playing jerk/villain roles with utmost sincerely.
I hated him from a telefilm Page Turner, and loved him in VIP, but other than that pretty much he has played jerk and grey roles.
He truly is a villain, a bad guy is not a villain, an insane person is truly a villain, and he is insane, like crazy psychopath. When he appears, I loath him and can't wait for his punishments on DH hands, but it is true that he is gonna done some horrible stuff to the team, before they could catch him.
On SJH part great acting. But friend I hate you for choosing same type of roles over and over.
Any exes do I need to worry about that will come back?
NO.
In JP media exes are the least threatening. Either they are pure evil and last for very small amount of time, or they are conflicted and morally good beings, that accepts the current situation and let go in the end, unlike in SK, Thai, CN and other medias.
In JP media, separation occurs due to the circumstances, family pressure and illness. Illness is a biggest part of any JP media, so exes are the least concern when I watch JP media.
I need SKT in my life, lol his first impression was that he is a jerk, but he turned out to be gazillions times better than any person on screen who fell in love.
The way he acknowledges his love for LW and expresses his emotions by controlling his "boyfriend" is just darn cute and sexy...
I SKT is a goal and keeper, he protects, takes care, demand and gives...thats what one cute love to look for.
Before it was aired, I told people not to expect anything from it as it is not intended for high quality BL series, rather it is just a fan service, and for that it is serving very well. I have no expectations, thats why I have nothing to complain either.
If I were to critique this series then it is among the most average ones. But it has its moments, for examples leads are not bad at acting, the role of uke and semme, is within limits, and not over the top stuff shove in your ass.
A very average series, with lovable leads.
ps. Net'S skin is a gold standard, a pure Thai skin, and not white wash. Nothing against others, I just find him damn hot and sexy in that color of his body.
One who breaks other people home in any capacity, never live in peace. They think they are living the life they wanted but their every breath is tethered with the weight of those they have wronged. No happiness can bring peace to them unless they break the fake mirror of vanity.
What I love about this drama that it made you feel that you were there when they were teenagers, like literally you were present with them in those moments and saw them going through such their lives.
It came in December, and it ticked every criteria of what a winter of december looks like, dark, gloomy, lovely, sadness, joy, separation, tears, - the cinematographer should receive award for their job. It was outstanding in every aspect. An Oscar worthy cinematography.

it is no way closer to YOM. YOM was a classic gem, this is just goos people becoming doormat for greedy and nasty people despite learning their lessen. Also snowdrop is different, backdrop is same, ike set in 80s and dictatorship era, but story and purpose different.
the poster shows it all, no one guessed it, but look at the poster for a moment - CCW in suit, OJJ in dress, it clearly shows, whats going to happen.
- she will marry CCW as she think ML betrayed her. - CCW and OJJ marriage will be a loveless and unhappy marriage - LDH will become a person he alwats wanted to be - CCW might become what his mother his husband but instead turned his son into a bastard - LDH will start to hunt them probably as a law officer, and truth will reveal one by one.

I don't agree, no matter what job you do, a relationship needs companionship, stop saying this that grownup don't mind, and it was imamture thing and now she or he has grown up so same mistake won't be repeated. Loneliness can eat whatever love or affection you have, you can be understanding and bend for the person you love beyond your limits but if that limit is crossed over and over again, it breaks. So saying he was training his "ass" and she was "whining", it is just simple excuse to marginalize the ML and his efforts.
I feel like conversation are getting deeper and deeper with each coming BLs, now they talk about being hurt, past relationships, learning, developing new feelings, feeling afraid, healthy discuss with exes, ex helping their ex to move on, and so much, that it is way too good to see.
A conversation is needed, not just everything is a joke, words hold more important than you thinks, yes it is saying, actions speaks louder, but a shut person bring nothing but frustration to other person. I am glad conversations happening, I mean thats all we need, listen to each other to find a way even if there is no solution...a conversation helps, it saves.
No one is mentioning KID, his acting is near flawless, he seemed so mature (also his role needed mature acting, as coming from dysfunctional background and absence of parents presence), and he is freaking handsome as well.
I can forgive the sudden change in LC heart, coz I felt, he should take step by step to go to her, coz I felt in last 2 ep he rushed quickly, but then the beauty of Xinjiang, and obvious fake names of the village and the city they shot, I forgave everything.
LC better treat the lady fairly this time, she broke up because he was not there when she needed the most, it is nobody faults, but since he chose this profession (coz his step father treated him better than his own father) to honor the legacy of his late step father, he should and must not treat GX unfairly, he should divide his time equally, thats the only thing he can do for her.
