Disappointing is the verdict

Oh geez! There was certainly a lot of sweet and touching emotional events that occurred in the finale. I'm going to accept the H4 inclusion in the finale as a positive. Still, it doesn't make up for the issues of the previous 9 episodes. In my mind there are only two noteworthy scenes in the first 9 episodes. They are the boxing scene and the lightening rod scene. The latter being hysterically funny. Both rose to the level I expect for History series. I would have liked to know how did He Bo aka Johhny get to 2022? Was it divine intervention or a freak time warp coincidence? Anyway, Wynn gets the best actor award. I never did take to Liang even though he was reincarnated in the finale. We could have seen Linus Wang shirtless a few more times. It would have helped in some episodes. Lastly, I have to congratulate Elaine Ho as Se Mo for being likeable and understanding of her role. Most females in BL's are not likeable and are usually annoying. Yeah, overall, it was disappointing. At least the finale was good.

Another BL where...

Here is another BL where the main couple is disappointing and the secondary couple is more interesting, more genuine, more believable and most important more likeable. I am assuming that the attempt to integrate mental health issues into a BL is an admiral effort but this one just made the BL less likeable. Yeah I know some mental health issues are not necessarily pleasant but deciding to present them in a series should be evaluated and it should be pretty well know how that is going to impact the overall rating of the series. I feel that this effort (presenting a mental health issue) was just not well done here. See other reviews for details which I mostly agree with.

I was going to give this series a rating of 8.5 before the ending. The blackmailing's and drugging in the last few episodes was just too much for me.

The shining stars here are Leon and Pob. Both actors were great! The character development was just awesome and believable. Both James and Smart should at least be nominated for a best actor in a supporting role award. I was so disappointed when they did not wind up together. I hoping for a sequel starring Leon and Pob.

Also on the good side, the rest of the cast were all very strong (Aek, Tho, An,...)

I should also mention that I feel like Leo had his great moments too, but most of them were in the earlier episodes.

History does it AGAIN!

Another boundary breaking series from History. Once again, I wasn't sure if I was going to like this series after the 1st few episodes. I most certainly didn't like the characters. But then something happened in Episode 3 and by episode 4 I was wow this has certainly blossomed. The 4 main characters were all very much into this series and their characters development. I am going to miss this series next week. I have to give Charles Tu a special shout out. Just wow! What a stunning performance. The producers also too just never a bad scene or a questionable anything.

I was wondering if anyone knows was the opening theme song an original for the series? If not who is it singing?

Thank-you for enlightening me for the last 10 weeks. ??

Awesome idea for a series

What a great idea for a BL series. That is a 10. What actually got on the screen was much less than that but still I was eager waiting to see how it ended. I'm glad the ended it such that it could have really happened but a fantasy ending with them somehow really getting together as young men would have been more romantic and more fulfilling of an emotional experience. For sure this could be a redo series. The middle to end episodes seemed to be dragging. They could have done much more to enhance the ending and milk the middle and build to the ending. Both Kiko and Jovani are much better than the scripts they were given, though they both did great with what was given to them. I hope to seem them again in another series.

A suprise great series.

Congratulations to all whom contributed to this awesome series. It was very engaging for me from the beginning. For sure it is not perfect and there are somethings that could have been better, however sometimes there are intangible aspects that in my opinion raise this series up to be labeled a classic or at least a boundary breaking work of art. This series will be watched for many years if not forever. I was truly moved. The cast for sure placed their heart and soul into their performances which again raised this series to levels the script could never do alone. The entire cast was very strong in my opinion. For sure Tommy Raynold and Rabin were outstanding. Bravo. Special shout out to Marnie and the mom for being great affirming female role models. This series displayed some great emotions and some good human lessons. I enjoyed it very much. Bravo!
The music 2 thumbs up for sure!
PS as usual the rating for this series ( I that think is great) is too low on MDL.

A classic series for sure!

Has to be this series will be a classic that is watched for many years to come if not for eternity. I was moved, engaged and totally with this series. Congratulations to the staff and the actors. It was awesome to see someone with mental health issues from a trauma appear as normal as anyone else. Also, to share their therapy experience is a break thru in my opinion. Done with grace compassion and integrity. The cast was probably the strongest I can think of. The leads (Im and Oh) were amazing, Yeong Woon and Jung (Boss) were the most excellent females. So where the 2 freshman friends especially Ae RI. The roommate/childhood friend was amazing too. The music was top notch and was noticeably great many times. Cinematography, setting, pacing....The only thing is I'm wondering if Ep 10 was an add-on. I at frist thought the end of episode 9 would have been a more complete and dramatic ending. Awesome, experience and enlightening series. Again, congratulations to all involved.

Not a BL

I still believe that the story here is morally wrong. Dying in a car crash that was self inflicted because your upset that your mom found out your gay is no where near as tragic as a couple detaching from family and friends because they are not accepted. People die in car crashes everyday and it's not because they were upset that their mom found out they were gay. The crash here was a successful suicide and murder. It wasn't an accident. That fact was never mentioned. As I stated before they could have survived the crash and just disappeared and started a new life far away. Living detached from your son and friend is far more tragic. Anyway, this series ended with everyone being happy even the main characters. Oh yeah one minor point the main characters ARE DEAD! The messages here do not seem to address homophobia in any real essence to me. The messages for gay couples from this series is don't try to have a relationship if your family won't accept you because you'll die in a car crash. Messages to friends of gay guys (Sandee) whom they are secretly in love with the gay friend is: it's ok the tell the homophobic mom that their son is gay in a fit of deceit because he will will forgive after he's dead. That's twisted. It didn't even seem like Sandee had any remorse. Well for 30 seconds maybe, then she went to the other house and Ken instantly forgave her without any hesitation or discussion. Really??? I don't even think the Pope would have forgiven that easy. The mothers acceptance in the last episode was sophomoric at best. Seemed forced and too simplistic. There was an attempt but in my opinion it fell very short. The 1st 5 episodes had me very intrigued. Wow did this one make a wrong turn! I hope the second series is not a BL.

it could have been better...a lot better!

I liked the story or the intended story however I don't feel like it ever really manifested into a cohesive story that was believable and convincing. I liked the character Ham a lot, but Jun did not come off to me as believable. Jun also changed without any reason or drama to make it seem like an event. I believe that was mostly due to bad script writing. In a few words it could have been better...a lot better! Also, This is a short that wasn't short enough and wasn't long enough. Secondary characters were not particularly important or scripted well in my opinion.

This is a true feel-good series.

This series so sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet...x infinity! It just warmed my heart to no end. Nozue and Togawa are just great characters and the actors playing them did an awesome job. I loved them both and really felt for them both a lot. The girls date and girls talk are just too great to imagine. The antiaging efforts too were something that really added depth and unexpected life feelings and emotions into this series. Though I loved both characters I have to give my best lead to Kimura Tatsunari. His scenes where he opened up and then backed off are deserved of an award. Though I really loved this series I feel like it could have developed the story and had longer and or more episodes. Once again i will say that sometimes less is more and sometimes something works because it leaves the viewer craving for more! Congrats to all who were responsible for making this series. This is a true feel-good series.

This is a very likeable BL

This is a very likeable BL. It's easy, pleasant, funny, genuine and well done. Both main characters were very likeable even though they are polar opposites in their personalities. On top of that, I believe that Mecheida and Meguro did great portraying those opposite personalities. I also very much enjoyed Hashimoto's story and its resolution too. I have to say that my best award for the series has to go to Suzuki for his portrayal of Aida. Secondary and support characters were all very good. Again, over all very well done. Good watch value for sure.

Very good story

So as a series it wasn't the all round best so that's a minus one. Secondary couple I thought was weak in scripting but actors were good. The story about Wen-Wen being a girl who moved away when in grade school and came back as a young man in high school was very cool. As the story goes with Pu falling in love with Amber before he finds out that Amber is Wen was done well. What makes it for the entire series is the scene with PU and his mother. That was scripted very well and Lukas did an awesome job with it. Very believable. I felt his pain in his confession. Another plus is all of the secondary characters were great. Also, I was very glad that Shieh did not go crazy when she found out the Pu was in love with Amber. The music was great. Interesting story very worth watching but it could have been better.

It's not perfect but has it's good points

It's not perfect but has it's good points. I just read a few other reviews and oh my God some are just unforgiving. Sometimes things that appear wrong are really art and expressionism. It's probably not the case here but it does help make the experience more enjoyable... and that's what it's all about. Right? My unsung hero from this series is OLAN. I almost wanted Ben to wind up with Olan. I also felt that Jim wanted more lines and more of a script to show his talents. The Ben character, well he certainly did a good job showing his feelings for Jim. The biggest plus was the ending and how they used Truth to settle all of the Drama was great. It's a very good ending message too, especially for young viewers. Theme song was very good but a bit overused. They could have made variations and expanded the life of the theme. It was a good tune though.

Very cute perspective

Very cute and funny. Not LOL but enough to make me smile and occasionally chuckle . I really do hope there is a season 2. Please do it. There are a lot of good potential here that could be developed out but then again maybe that wouldn't be better. It is good just the way it is. Yes for sure a season 2 please. I need more characters but I don't have anything else to say . Season 2 please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very, Very, Very Nice BL story

It's fantasy but its real. Very applicable to real life though. Many good messages and lessons in this BL. You can tell both actors really like each other. I believe they both did an awesome job with their charters. The ending credits to each episode with them walking on the pier was the cherry on the top. Great idea. I will watch this again when I am down and need inspiration. Congrats to all involved. Season 2??? I hope so I think their could be another series worth of these two. Chemistry is awesome.

It was good but....

MOD is based on a story so it is what it is, which is a story that I didn't care for. I liked that they both were professionals. Tul did a much better job of acting the part of a coroner than Max as a teacher. (Sorry Max. ) I know they are trying to act and not be to much into sex but there could have been a bit more and more intensity for sure. I love them both and enjoyed seeing them each week, but next time I would like a story with more suspense and intrigue in figuring out the death and less quantity of deaths. Sometimes book stories don't translate well to the screen. I think this was partly true here. I was pleasantly shocked with the ending proposal of marriage, etc. Good Luck next time...I'm sure there will be a next time for you both!
