I dropped this after ending of episode 27 when the FL said she extended her abroad stay without even discussing…
How sad would it be to be governed by romance when this drama advocates for self-love. In real life, you wouldn’t want to consider or be dictated by others when it comes to career. That’s something that is truly yours. The show managed to show us how it should be— filling your own cup first before anybody else. He Suye even had no problem with it, of course coming from an ideal ML who’s emotionally secure.
Very chill series without any stereotypical villain plots, with some cringe moments here and there. The romance…
Oh, I personally found it empowering how Xifan maximized her learnings from that Masters program on Management. She found another career path that does not make her rely on any employer, she became a consultant for establishments. That gives her a wider scope to apply her skills. And this also addresses the initial points raised by her parents— that she might have a harder time getting employed after finishing her Masters as she’s not that young anymore, limiting her chance to get management roles in hotels, aside from the fact that Guanan Huating is considered the best already in the area so leaving that would be a waste.
This also echoes a lot of people’s experiences wherein they pursued further studies and realized that they could truly do something more but not necessarily how others expect them to be, not the traditional route. And that to me made Xifan’s career trajectory sooo relatable and realistic. I was happy with how she decided for herself that she’s going to manage establishments from then on, and would even address issues like what if she wants to have kids one day, at least she owns her time.
Incredible main couple. I love how Xifan gave Suye flower bouquets from time to time. I also like that she gave…
riiiight? I love how they still act the same with their families, still lovey dovey. That way their families also see them ending up together as they’re just so naturally looking the part already. Quite refreshing as most drama couples tend to bring the intimacy down a few notches when they are with family members.
Truly. Sadly though, iQIYI is one of, if not the biggest producer of idol dramas that’s why most of the trending ones are theirs. They also tied up with agencies whose actors would get casted in their projects. Hopefully they’d collaborate with Netflix more for international distribution. But for The Best Thing, considering it’s still their no. 1 modern drama to date, they might hold onto it a little longer.
why are you guys so hell bend on looks ? just watch it for the story lol
Riiight? They’re doing a disservice to the actors. Even Zhang Linghe despises how people are just more concerned about his looks and not his works. These fanatics are truly something else.
I loved everything about the storytelling. It was engaging, honest, raw, and they kept everything real especially…
The only thing I hated is how he easily moved on. I made peace that their love is bound to fail, but the guy easily jumped to his next relationship and even proposed right away while the woman who’s been with him only had to make do of his “Lao po”s but never even gotten her a ring to seal the deal. It was all she ever wanted, and he could tell, but no, he refused to satisfy her dream.
It was engaging, honest, raw, and they kept everything real especially Xu Ruohan’s delivery of a bright, young girl having experiencing her first love. Dare I say, she really excels in her ability to keep things natural.
The title pretty much sums it all, but I was grateful that movie allowed us to throughly see how things went wrong. The misgivings, resentments, unsatisfied dreams, tired heart who’s always hoping, reaching… everything about this is just so human. Very relatable, sometimes hits close to home.
he never fought for her or them once. I'm so annoyed. he was just there and dealing with inadequacy. please never…
That’s why I’m so sooo proud of JY for managing to let him go and never looked back. Now she can fill her life with the things she missed from her youth because of him

This batch is actually hilarious. I love watching every episode.

It makes me happy too that finally Xu Ruohan is now getting into the variety world.
