Dilraba & Chen Feiyu’s Chemistry is Addictive! Cast Them in a Modern Drama

Love Beyond the Grave is the series I was most looking forward to this year, and I have to say — it didn’t disappoint me even a little bit!The story follows He Simu, the powerful and immortal Ghost Queen who lacks all five senses. She appears cold and detached on the outside, but deep down she’s incredibly fragile. Then there’s Duan Xu, the young and mysterious general with a brutal past, who turns out to be fiercely devoted and surprisingly gentle with her. He’s willing to give everything for her. What begins as a chance encounter gradually blossoms into a beautiful, intense, and heartwarming love that transcends the human and spirit worlds.

Both lead actors delivered fantastic performances. Especially Dilraba — she was outstanding and played the role with such depth. She beautifully portrayed the transformation from an emotionless, icy queen to a young woman slowly learning about love and vulnerability. Every scene she’s in looks stunning and majestic. Chen Feiyu also did an excellent job conveying Duan Xu’s obsessive love and inner pain with subtle, nuanced acting. Every glance and every action makes it crystal clear how much he loves her. The supporting cast was generally solid, though I really hated Yan Ke’s character — he was so annoying and frustrating that he genuinely made my blood boil. On the bright side, Wei Zheming was great, and Zhang Li looked absolutely glamorous in her role as Jiang Ai.

The production is spectacular. The visuals are premium-level, the CGI and fight scenes are well-done, the costumes are incredibly intricate and gorgeous, and the soundtrack perfectly enhances the emotions of every scene.

What I loved the most is the chemistry between Dilraba and Chen Feiyu — it’s off the charts and so addictive! Their skinship feels so natural, both on and off screen. Every time they share a scene, the chemistry flows effortlessly without any forced moments. It really feels like the whole world disappears and there’s only the two of them. It’s such a shame that the production cut out so many kiss scenes in episode 30. Those were some of the best kiss scenes ever . I really hope the leads do another drama together, maybe a modern one next time.

Overall, Love Beyond the Grave is a romantic fantasy series that was absolutely worth the wait this year. The leads have incredible chemistry, the production is grand and beautiful, the fight scenes and CGI are top-tier, the costumes are stunning, and the soundtrack fits perfectly. 10/10 — I highly recommend everyone to watch it.

Had so much potential, but fell short of my high expectations

This is a drama I’ve been waiting for a long time. There were rumors it wouldn’t air for another year, so I’m glad it finally came out. Song Weilong and Ju Jingyi are also two of my favorite actors. To be honest, after finishing it, I felt quite disappointed. If it weren’t for the last two episodes, my rating would have been even lower.

The first part was pretty fun, but the middle to the later episodes were really boring. The female lead’s character is quite annoying — she’s gullible and overthinks everything. That said, I can understand her because the male lead keeps hiding things and doing stuff without telling her. However, the second male lead was the most annoying character in the entire drama for me. Song Weilong looks handsome and cool, and his acting is decent. Ju Jingyi is very beautiful and adorable, but her performance in this drama feels repetitive — like she plays the same character in every series. Still, I’m okay with it. Their chemistry is passable, but I secretly wished there were more romantic scenes between them. The editing is not very good; it feels messy and confusing at times. The visuals, CGI, and some costumes look quite dated, but I understand since it was filmed a long time ago. The supporting cast is fine. Personally, I really liked Liu Mengrui as Ge lin — her acting was cute and charming. I hope she gets to play a lead role soon. The last two episodes feel like a summary wrap-up. If the story had been handled like this from the beginning, there wouldn’t have been a need for 33 episodes lol.

Overall, If you’re a fan of Ju Jingyi or Song Weilong, I’d say go for it. Their presence definitely carries the drama and makes it more enjoyable. However, if you’re not particularly a fan of either, this one is pretty average and skippable. The story starts off strong with good potential, but it drags heavily in the middle, has pacing issues, and some annoying characters that might frustrate you. The last two episodes help tie things together nicely, but it still feels like it could have been much tighter. Watch it if you have time and don’t mind a slower-paced xianxia romance, but you definitely won’t miss anything groundbreaking if you skip it.

"The One and Only Ning Que" Chen Feiyu Owns the Role

I gave it such a high score because this series does almost everything really well. The visuals and atmosphere are stunning—every single scene looks like a painting, from the forests and mountains to lakes and ancient towns. The lighting, colors, and composition are top-tier, making you feel like you’ve stepped straight into the novel’s world. The fight scenes are equally impressive: the movements, choreography, and editing flow so smoothly, each battle carries real weight and has its own unique style. On top of that, the male lead Ning Que (Chen Feiyu) character development is insanely good—he starts as an ordinary anti-hero kid from the countryside and gradually grows stronger, smarter, and more layered with every step. I genuinely felt proud watching him evolve. Chen Feiyu’s acting is flawless, perfectly capturing the drama, revenge, and pain. Sang Sang (Song Yiren) delivers a cute yet powerful performance, while Ye Hongyu (Meng Ziyi) and Mo Shanshan (Yuan Bingyan) are also impressive. Meng Ziyi plays her role with coolness and strength, and in the later episodes when she starts falling for the male lead, she becomes secretly adorable. Yuan Bingyan also delivers a really cute and bright performance, with a gentle side that feels incredibly heartwarming to watch.

The only parts I didn’t like were the last 5–10 episodes, which felt overly rushed, like the director was in a hurry to finish. Some plot threads weren’t resolved properly and things wrapped up too quickly, which was a bit disappointing. Another issue is the chemistry between Chen Feiyu and Song Yiren—it doesn’t quite click. When they’re together it feels more like a cute sibling relationship than romantic lovers: warm and sweet, but without that exciting spark. On the other hand, the chemistry between Chen Feiyu and Meng Ziyi is way better, especially the intense enemies-to-lovers tension with Meng Ziyi that’s seriously on fire. Even the dynamic with Yuan Bingyan feels much cuter and more adorable.

Overall, Ever Night is still one of my absolute favorite Chinese series. Beautiful visuals, thrilling fight scenes, outstanding character development, and solid acting all around. If you love xianxia/wuxia blended with intense fantasy, I highly recommend it—don’t even think twice. Sure, there are a few small flaws toward the end, but overall it’s way too good to miss.

Strong Start, Disappointing Finish: What Happened in the Last 4 Episodes?

This is another series I was really looking forward to. The casting looked promising, the plot seemed interesting, and I had high expectations for the script and storyline. Unfortunately, the ending was very predictable and felt extremely rushed.

The series started off really well and was highly engaging. Hui Ju and Yi An were clever and full of schemes in the beginning, but in the later episodes, they became noticeably less intelligent and made poor decisions. Prime minister Min and I Rang were characters with a lot of potential, but they were severely underused. I felt that Prime minister Min was unnecessarily forced into the villain role. I Rang’s redemption arc was almost nonexistent — she barely had any screen time in the latter half. The female lead’s family was set up as having a bad relationship, but suddenly her brother and father started loving and praising her out of nowhere. The last 4 episodes were hugely disappointing. The show introduced so many new plot threads but then completely abandoned them, leaving tons of loose ends. It felt very rushed toward the finale.

I really like iu’s acting in melodramas, but in this romcom, her performance felt a bit off — although she looked stunning throughout the series. Byeon Woo-seok’s acting felt quite stiff. The chemistry between him and IU was just average, but I actually thought his chemistry with Gong Seung-yeon was better. The costumes were beautiful, and the locations were well-chosen and visually pleasing.

Overall, Perfect Crown is a series that started strong but gradually became boring and lost its momentum. It’s not bad, but it’s not good either.

Heartwarming Wuxia Mystery with Excellent Leads

This series has been on my watchlist for a long time, but I finally decided to give it a shot. I’m so glad I did. It’s a wonderful blend of martial arts, mystery, and heartfelt drama. The real highlight is the chemistry between the three main leads. Cheng Yi is phenomenal playing both Li Xiangyi and Li Lianhua he conveys weariness, pain, and quiet strength so convincingly. Fang Duobing brings adorable playfulness and warmth to the group, while his character development is genuinely satisfying. Di Feisheng delivers cool and intimidating moments that balance the dynamic perfectly and strengthen the found-family vibe. The action sequences are spectacular, fluid, and visually stunning, complemented by top-tier production quality and witty dialogue that keeps the show consistently entertaining.

Each case ties beautifully into the larger mystery, mixing clever deductions with intense fights. The story gradually unfolds with themes of letting go of the past, revenge, and the healing power of friendship. The first half to mid-series feels like a wonderful journey traveling with the characters. However, some cases in the later episodes drag a bit, especially once the main plot becomes clearer. There were moments I felt the pacing slowed down and just wanted things to move forward.

Overall, even though there are some dragging parts and it's not perfect, if you enjoy wuxia mixed with mystery/investigation, warmth, and deeper themes, this series is definitely worth watching. The main characters carry the story well throughout. Despite the pacing issues in some parts, it remains memorable and enjoyable overall. Highly recommended for those who haven't watched it yet.

They just needed to talk

I spent a fair amount of time watching this. The early episodes were really good. The concept was great, the flashbacks were fun and heartwarming, and I liked how the characters worked together to solve so many problems, which made it engaging.

However, some parts felt drawn out. The FL sometimes made strange decisions, and many problems could have been solved simply by talking, but they often avoided direct communication. This repeated miscommunication became quite frustrating. After they got back together and the business plots were added, the show became rather bland and boring for me. The FL revenge also wasn’t very satisfying after such a long buildup. But the chemistry between the lead actors was excellent, and the soundtrack was nice.

Overall, the series started strong with a warm and engaging beginning, but the dragging pace, repetitive miscommunication, and underwhelming later half held it back. Still worth watching for the great lead chemistry and soundtrack if you can tolerate the flaws.

Not as mind-blowing as the hype, but still a solid and enjoyable drama

I went in with very high expectations because of all the hype surrounding this drama, but after finishing it I felt rather indifferent. It wasn’t bad at all — it was good — but I just expected more.

The first half was strong and engaging. The female lead and her mother move into the male lead’s house. I really loved the childhood portion; both child actors performed excellently. It’s a shame that the childhood arc was so short. The teenage years were still enjoyable, but once they separated, reunited, and entered their working lives, the story became messy. Many episodes felt empty or unnecessarily drawn out. The drama really didn’t need 32 episodes. The early episodes focused heavily on drama, while the later ones shifted into a more generic romance mixed with investigation and office elements. Several plot points were set up but never explained — for example, the scene where Tu Li meets Cen Ye. Why did that happen? If it had no connection, why include it? That said, the acting and chemistry between Song Weilong and Zhang Jingyi were outstanding. He Ruixian also performed well — she was cute and stood out — but her role felt underdeveloped and underused. The depiction of the 1990s was detailed and very realistic. The cinematography was beautiful, and the soundtrack perfectly matched the tone of the story.

Overall, A well-made drama with a strong and engaging first half, outstanding chemistry between Song Weilong and Zhang Jingyi, and a beautifully detailed 1990s atmosphere. While the later episodes become a bit messy and stretched, and some plot points remain unresolved, the overall experience is still enjoyable. The excellent performances and production values make it worth watching despite not fully living up to the initial hype.

Fun, Hilarious & Heartwarming Road Trip of True Friendship.

This is my first review. This movie was incredibly fun, hilarious, and heartwarming. The many elements blended together seamlessly. The storytelling wasn’t overly complex — it felt like a road trip movie, presented in a straightforward way. The portrayal of friendship was excellent, and the characters’ love for each other was genuinely touching and heartwarming. Their chemistry was fantastic.

The lighthearted humor was spot-on, with jokes sprinkled throughout. At the same time, there were also unexpected and surprising moments, including some tear-jerking scenes. It delivered such a wide and unexpected range of emotions.

Overall, this movie was incredibly impressive, and I really appreciated its straightforward portrayal of friendship. I wish Cha Eunwoo's character had more screen time, but his appearances were truly impactful.

Great Cast & Stunning Action, But Extremely Boring Story

I started watching this drama purely because of Yang Yang and Zhang Ruonan. I’m a big fan of both, so I had quite high expectations. To be honest, I was very disappointed. Star power alone cannot compensate for the weaknesses in the storytelling.

The three main actors all performed well and their chemistry together is excellent. Zhang Ruonan looks absolutely stunning in this role and has incredible charisma. The fight scenes are spectacular — truly top-tier — and the visuals are beautiful overall. But that’s pretty much it. The pacing is very slow and drags a lot, to the point of being boring. Especially in the middle of the series, where it frequently takes long detours to tell the backstories of supporting characters. This makes the main plot progress extremely slowly. The backgrounds and motivations of many characters are not clearly explained or developed deeply enough. Then the ending feels rushed, with everything being resolved too quickly in one go. It comes across as incomplete and lacking impact.

Overall, while the action sequences are excellent, the story itself is genuinely boring and poorly executed. It failed to keep me engaged despite the strong cast and beautiful visuals.

A Pleasant surprise with great twists

At first, I was one of many viewers who were still hesitant about whether to watch this series because of the age-gap issue and moral concerns. However, I waited until it finished, and many viewers said it was watchable and didn’t feel awkward at all, so I started watching. Since I didn’t expect much from it, this series really surprised me—it was much better than I had hoped.

The story starts in an engaging and fast-paced way. Every time you think someone is the villain, the plot twists and introduces new elements that make you suspect someone else instead. This keeps the story interesting throughout. Both lead actors gave excellent performances. The male lead, Xiao Wuyi, is intelligent, cunning, yet kind-hearted and gentle. Hou Minghao fits the role perfectly—he looks cool and imposing, making people fear him, and he handles the action scenes well, making them feel realistic. The female lead is a clever inventor girl, Xie Jiayu. She is very smart and quick-witted. Ai Mi is adorable in this role. It’s a pity that the age gap between the two actors means there are almost no romantic scenes, but both still performed well enough to make us feel that the characters deeply love each other. The supporting cast is also good. The music matches every scene perfectly. The costumes are beautiful, especially Ai Mi’s outfits—each one is gorgeous. Many of the scenes are also visually stunning.

Overall, this series really surprised me. If you’re a fan of Hou Minghao and Ai Mi, I highly recommend watching it because both of them shine brilliantly in their roles. The age-gap issue won’t make you feel uncomfortable at all since there are almost no romantic scenes, yet the two leads still delivered outstanding performances. The story progresses well—neither too slow nor too fast. The supporting actors performed excellently. This will be one of my favorite series of 2026 and is definitely worth watching.

Heartwarming Start, But Dazzling Drags Too Long

I started watching this drama because I saw people comparing it and making edit videos with L&P, which is one of my favorite Chinese series. However, after actually watching it, I found that the two dramas are almost nothing alike.

The series starts off really strong. It’s funny, and I absolutely loved the family dynamics around the male lead. Every character has a meaningful role and stands out in their own way — I especially adored the male lead’s mother. The rural scenery is stunningly beautiful, and the character development and growth feel well-done. However, once it reaches the middle, the story starts to drag and becomes quite boring. The separation between the male and female leads feels way too long, and when they finally reunite, it doesn’t leave much of an impression. It feels like something is missing. I understand it’s meant to be a slow-burn romance, but even then, I think it was too slow for its own good.

Overall, Dazzling starts really strong with great humor, warm family dynamics, lovable characters, and beautiful rural scenery. The character development is solid too. However, the middle drags heavily, the separation arc feels too long, and the eventual reunion lacks impact despite being a slow-burn romance.

Ding Yuxi carries the show

At first I was about to start watching The Road to Splendor, but I found out that the leads of that drama, Ding Yuxi and Deng Enxi, had previously starred together in this one, so I decided to watch this first.

I agree with many of the reviews here. The first half is really fun. The investigation cases are interesting and have complexity, with some light comedy mixed in. Ding Yuxi in this drama can pretty much be said to carry the whole show. His acting is excellent—he has charisma and an imposing presence, and the way he gradually falls for the female lead is adorable. Deng Enxi is super cute in her role. She’s a smart female detective, but she often charges straight into danger herself, so the male lead constantly has to come rescue her. Sometimes that habit gets a bit annoying. Their chemistry is great and very sweet though. The second half, starting from the Yingzhou arc when the male and female leads go investigate a case in another city and the male lead meets his senior disciple, becomes really boring. It drags on for many unnecessary episodes. And just a few episodes into that arc you can already guess who the final boss of the case is because the acting/clues are too obvious. Toward the end, the lack of communication and the “fake divorce” plot felt unnecessary. I really like the female lead’s mother character, Concubine Jin. Elder Princess Ru Ning also looks beautiful, majestic, and elegant—such a pity that her role basically disappears in the later part. The costumes are beautiful and the soundtrack is excellent.

Overall, the first half of this drama is a lot of fun. The various cases keep you hooked. But the second half drags on unnecessarily and becomes a bit boring. Still, if you’re a fan of Ding Yuxi, this is a must-watch. Deng Enxi is also very cute in this role, and the chemistry between the leads is good. If you have free time and don’t know what to watch, I recommend giving this one a try.

The Rough Road to Splendor

After finishing Melody of Golden Age, I jumped straight into The Road to Splendor because I’m currently obsessed with the Ding Yuxi and Deng Enxi pairing. The early episodes (around 1–3) feel a bit slow, and the FL gets bullied a lot while she’s still not very street-smart, which can be a little frustrating. But after that, the drama becomes really enjoyable.

The plot is well-written. Zhao Ling and Fu Ting Yun keep solving one problem after another—as soon as they resolve one issue, a new one appears. Both characters have clear motivations and realistic character development. Zhao Ling starts as an illegal salt merchant and gradually rises to become a high-ranking official. Fu Ting Yun is intelligent and sharp; she constantly supports and elevates the male lead. Neither of them changes easily—they have to fight to survive in an unfair system, which feels very realistic. After they get married, the problems only get bigger and more complicated. One thing I didn’t particularly like is that people around the main couple often act foolishly and create unnecessary trouble for Zhao Ling and Fu Ting Yun to clean up. The antagonists are also quite irritating, especially Yu Jing Xiu, who loves playing the victim, always blaming others and never reflecting on himself. It can feel a bit exhausting at times with how many problems keep piling up, but the show is still very entertaining. The performances of the leads are excellent. Ding Yuxi does a great job showing Zhao Ling’s ambition when he’s still a salt merchant, and once he gains power, you can really feel his commanding presence. Deng Enxi’s acting has improved a lot in this drama—it feels natural, detailed, and perfectly suited to the role. Even when she’s not speaking, her eyes and body language convey so much emotion. Their relationship feels very realistic and natural. It develops gradually, like two real people who have to go through hardships together. The chemistry between them in this series is even better than in their previous collaboration—every glance, small gesture, and moment of silence between them communicates so much. I’m not disappointed at all that they paired up again.

Overall, the plot is strong and feels grounded. Ding Yuxi and Deng Enxi deliver great performances with excellent chemistry. The costumes are beautiful, character development is logical, and the supporting cast is solid. Even though it can be tiring how problems never stop coming for the main couple, the drama is still highly entertaining, and the satisfying ending makes The Road to Splendor definitely worth watching.

I Get the Hype Now This Shit Is Actually So Satisfying

Honestly, I intended to save this series for later since it's one of my favorite webtoons. However, the massive hype on social media made me worried about spoilers, so I decided to watch it now. As a big fan of the original, I think the adaptation is quite solid overall.

It opens incredibly strong the villains in every episode are insanely infuriating, and seeing them get their comeuppance is deeply satisfying. Unfortunately, the intensity dips a little in the later episodes, and the finale feels somewhat underwhelming. There are some changes from the webtoon (understandable, as certain scenes might be too brutal for broadcast). My biggest complaint is the forced romance subplot for Im Han-rim it felt really unnatural and unnecessary. Still, the cast delivered strong performances, especially Kim Mu-yeol who nailed Na Hwa-jin's cool, charismatic vibe.

Overall, the cast performed well, especially Kim Mu-yeol who portrayed Na Hwa-jin with excellent cool charisma. Despite some flaws in pacing and added elements, it's still a solid and entertaining adaptation.

Great Start That Lost Its Way

I started watching this series earlier than planned because of all the hype — I was curious to see what everyone was talking about. The show started really well, super fun and genuinely funny, which made it very entertaining from the early episodes. However, this series should have ended at episode 7. The last three episodes felt completely unnecessary.

The plot hooked me right from the beginning. I really enjoyed the story of Agent Kim, a man whose true background remains a mystery to everyone. He’s desperately searching for the truth behind his daughter’s disappearance, while his enemies gradually uncover more about his past. The reunion of the three former agents teaming up for missions together was extremely entertaining and full of great humor. However, the middle part of the series dragged on too much, and the last three episodes were noticeably weaker. I ended up watching them just to finish the show.

Overall, Agent Kim Reactivated started very strongly and had so much potential. Unfortunately, the later episodes couldn’t maintain the quality, which lowered my interest. Still, the three lead actors delivered solid performances that kept it fun, funny, and engaging enough for me to watch until the end.
