I don’t understand why some people act like it’s mandatory to hate Lu Feng.
Or like having a negative opinion of Yi Chen’s choices automatically means you’re missing the point.
Be honest for a second. If you gave up your family name, your inheritance, your future and your relationship with your family for someone, and they still chose to leave you to appease their mother, would you really be this understanding?
Because I don’t believe most people would.
If we actually put ourselves in Lu Feng’s shoes, a lot more people would understand why he’s angry.
Has he reacted badly at times? Sure.
But let’s look at what happened to him.
He was beaten. Sent away. Threatened. Forced to hide. He lost his father. He spent years being treated like a problem that needed fixing.
And even now, he’s once again being painted as the villain because he’s gay.
That’s literally the accusation being thrown at him. That he “corrupted” Yi Chen. That his homosexuality ruined Yi Chen’s life.
Meanwhile Yi Chen’s brother went from being openly homophobic to openly dating a man and flirting with him in front of his mother, and somehow nobody seems nearly as concerned.
Because the burden of being “normal” in that family has always fallen on Yi Chen.
So yes, I think it’s completely understandable that people don’t approve of what happened.
And let’s not forget the five years that were thrown away. Five years of separation. Five years of loneliness. Five years of a marriage that wasn’t even a real marriage.
Five years.
I’m not saying Yi Chen is evil. I’m saying I don’t understand why sympathy is extended to everyone except Lu Feng.
It’s what I need to know as well, because Yi Chen was adamant about his decision to leave Lu Feng behind and…
I’m on team Lu Feng as well. And I actually agree that Lu Feng deserved better and that he was rarely the one being chosen. He always put Yi Chen first, even when it came at a huge personal cost. That’s why I completely understand why he’s angry now.
My confusion is more about Yi Chen’s current behavior. I can understand why he left back then, even if I don’t agree with how he handled it. What I don’t understand is what he wants now. After five years of being so determined to stay away, seeing Lu Feng on TV suddenly makes him quit his job and go looking for him? That’s the part I’m struggling to make sense of.
Them seeing each other after five years wonder why yichen first instinct is going to meet lufeng after his divorce…
It’s what I need to know as well, because Yi Chen was adamant about his decision to leave Lu Feng behind and hide from him. And now, suddenly, after five years of lies and loneliness, he sees him on TV and quits his job to go find Lulu? Make it make sense 🙄
I’m so curious about the whole revenge plot 😏 because I’m sure Lulu has been thinking about it for years and the meeting between Yi Chen and the son/nephew or whoever he is, it feels like it was orchestrated 👀👀
The amount of “read the novel and you’ll hate Lu Feng” comments is sending me. If I need extra homework…
The problem is that Mo Ran has became my benchmark 😂 Whenever someone says “this character is a black flag”, I’m like… “Okay, but is he as black as Mo Ran?” And the answer is usually no
People who have already read the novel are not interpreting the adaptation of the series itself, but rather comparing…
The amount of “read the novel and you’ll hate Lu Feng” comments is sending me. If I need extra homework to dislike a character, maybe the show is telling a different story 🤨
