It feels like everything is on impromptu. Kudo Asuka is somewhat his ex-student and writer-san expect the viewer too make him some kind of returning cast member from previous season lol. Could've just cast Tokuyama Hidenori for that role. I feel like this is some kind of panic button from Fuji because rival station is going all out for their summer drama.
The students is way too inexperienced compared to Akira's version. They have the budget and Akira's version is a success, why not replicate that lmao. Prolly the money went to the iPad lol.

Considering Sota's obsessive behavior, The first half is going to be the killing spree (Tsuyoshi, Satoru, Sayuri) and the one they're showing us in the beginning (prolly the end of first half) is either Detective-san or Ginjiro.
The second half is whatever "the plan" they're mentioning in the synopsis. My guess is that they are actually related lol, and Sota is trying to takeover the company.
Interesting premise and art direction, but the pilot they make it seems like it will be a nothingburger procedural slop. hopefully i'll be proven wrong.
Big fan of the decision to choose "The light we cast" as the localized title rather than having "a vote from galaxy".
What I love about this drama is that almost every major characters in this drama are suicidal, yet both leads really "cast the light" onto their life despite bearing the same pain too. The social issue that writer-san brought up to this drama is a lot more realistic compared to Jerk salaryman. This is my sleeper hit of the season.
Also shout out to Noro Kayo, hopefully they don't typecast her as comedic relief after this. Really suitable for human drama.

-Haru is killed, the brothers committed suicide (most popular, and my preference too) -Haru is killed, the brothers turned themself in. The dinner scene is obviously a dream (closure) and the scene involving Haru and the brothers in the harbor are flashback. Since black cinematic bar in the drama means flashback. -Haru is shot, not killed considering the amount of blood shown, and life goes on.
Earlier on, when Gotetsu mentioned that Ryo's star needed to die out, I was fully expecting them to retire him…
